I had no idea up Alec Baldwin's MSNBC show "Up Late" until I read that he was suspended and looked it up.
I saw that he had on the stars of "2001: A Space Odyssey," Gary Lockwood and Keir Dullea. I've never seen either of them interviewed.
They look very different. Somehow they
got 45 years older.
I just cast the whole show to my Chromecast. It's damned good, even if Alec tells too many of his own war stories. I like Alec's insight, film knowledge and impressions.
They do have great stories about making one the greatest films of all time. When you're upside down and you drop your bite of of food, it falls up.
I never noticed that Gary Lockwood was on the Star Trek TOS pilot! They go through how he w:up:as every TV cop show in the 70s and 80s.
Take a look.
Thanks to the usual flashola crapola I can't post a link to the actual episode. Just scroll to episode 6. It will play all of the segments in sequence.
I'll set an SP for the show. Alec should be back eventually.
I have basic roamio which has ota but using $75 indoor radioshack tv antenna i couldnt pull anything in. Anyone know how i can inquire about a stronger roof antenna? Im in novato sf bay area 94945
I picked up a Premiere TiVo about 4 months ago and for the first time today, I want to order a PPV event. When I switch to the Comcast PPV channel, I get the following error "This channel is not authorized. Contact your cable provider at 1-877-367-8486 for more information (V58)."
I've spoken to people at both TiVo and Comcast now and the final person I talked to at Comcast said that if I just order the event, the channel will work when the event starts. That's a little less than an hour from now and I'm not convinced this is going to work.
Has anyone else had this issue and is it really just a matter of having the program ordered and the channel will then work?
Has anyone else experienced this?
Have a TiVo Mini connected via MoCA to a Roamio Pro and Time Warner digital cable. Watching recorded content works fine, but when I try to watch Live TV, certain channels will play for 2-3 seconds followed by some kind of error message that flashes on the screen for less than 0.1 seconds (so quickly I can't read what it says), and the picture freezes. It only happens on specific channels, which obviously makes viewing live content on those channels impossible.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?
Does anyone have the Video Window turned off only to have it come back on randomly for you? I used to have the same problem with my TiVo Premiere where when doing stuff in the menus like searching for TV shows and working with the season passes where all of a sudden the Video Window would turn on. It would even show up in the settingn menu's where it never shows up. I would go into the settings to turn it off and it was already off so I would have to turn it on, go out, go back in and turn it off. It was really annoying.
Well it just happened on my new Roamio. All of a sudden the remote stopped responding and it seemed like it was froze then the video window popped on and the remote started working again. I went into the settings and it was off so had to do the whole on then off thing.
Is this a common bug or are my TiVo's haunted? I tried searching the forums but can't find anything else like it.
I'm new to the forums. I am considering returning my Fios multiroom DVR and set top boxes and getting Roamio Pro and Minis. Does anyone have experience with Roamio and the Fios cable card being able to view and record channels like Showtime, Cinemax, and NFL Redzone? Also, does anyone have any regrets going with Tivo instead of the Fios equipment?
Well I have my 3TB drive ready to go in but wanted to see how fast a test setup with a SSD would be. It seems fast but will not know untill I finish and switch to the new 3TB
Does anyone have a better technique when watching a recorded football game to avoid seeing the score when turning on the TV for the first time. I usually hit pause to freeze TV first before turning on my receiver and TV and hope my eye doesnt catch the score on the paused live Tv screen in the corner before starting the recording.
When was the last time tivo allowed lifetime transfers and was there a fee involved. If for some reason Tivo decides to have a lifetime transfer promotion, I'm weighing the options of paying a fee for the transfer then selling a tivo unit without lifetime on it, versus selling a unit with lifetime on it. You basically come out the same don't you? From searching this forum, I saw something about a $149 fee when they had a promotion. All that means is your used tivo is pretty much hard to sell. So no point in waiting, right?
How do I set up Jukebox and VidMgr to run as a background service at windows startup? I already have pyTivo running as a service. Environment is Windows 7 / Tivo Premiere.
After the recent TiVo fall update, On my Premiere, Harmonium playback audio drops while navigating the Harmonium screens. Have any other Harmonium users noticed this and/or found a solution? This issue does not occur when using pyTivo and Jukebox.
Thanks for any help with this,
My fastest available DSL speed is 1-3 mbps. I can stream yutube 720p hd fine but using tivo netflix i never pass 480. Before debug info disappeared in most recent netflix update I saw my bitrate never exceeded 1.7 mbps.
My wife has several wishlist searches and a season pass to programs on QVC. They are showing up as reruns in the guide and not recording. All shows on QVC are essentially live and NOT reruns. Any suggestions?
I am completely new to the world of ripping videos for streaming over the network and need some help. I have had TiVos for a while (currently have 3 Premiers and 2 Mini's but have a new Roamio and another Mini on the way) but I have recently decided to start using the DLNA capability of my Netgear ReadyNAS Ultra 6 to store ripped copies of movies I own for streaming to the Premiers. I purchased a copy of Pavtube Blu-ray Ripper for ripping the movies and it seems like a very capable piece of software but the problem I need help with is...I have no idea which format I should rip the movies to that will allow them to be played on both Premiers and Windows 8 devices. My first try was MPEG-4 HD Video (mp4). The movie worked great on my Windows 8 devices but the TiVo Premier would not see it on the NAS. I had placed it on the NAS in a folder with the movie's name. The Premier saw the folder but did not see the movie in the folder (said there were 0 items in the folder).
Just launched Netflix on the mini and it's been updated to the new interface!
Well, no profiles still, but still awesome to see such rapid progress with things :)
Long time TiVo owner here. Current Premiere XL playback via
IOS app has been working for a while.
Recently - last month or so - IOS in-home playback has started to freeze in the last minute of the recording. Consistent across multiple devices. Can skip ahead and back, but if left to simply play, playback will pause. Sometimes you have to close out of the recording via the done button and restart playback. At that point the playback usually resumes from the start of the recording.
All iOS devices are IOS7.
Anyone else seeing this?
Thanks in advance.
I know some people have the new slide pro in their hands already and I was wondering if they have the capability to control both a roamio and a mini from one remote. I have looked on Tivo's website and cannot really find in-depth details about its capabilities.
Zatz scooping again!
As we gear up for 2014, TiVos plans have begun to crystalize. First, based on pre-show outreach from Olson, it appears Android streaming is a lock for a January CES announcement
I just ordered a Roamio which I will use to replace my Premier.
Anyone know how to minimize the hassle of getting Comcast to switch my cable card to the new Roamio when it arrives?
Should I call the cable card number before moving the card, or can I move it, then call Comcast?
Any list of data I'll need to gather before I call to minimize the time on the phone?
(I make this move because the Premier really did start working correctly when Comcast pushed the new firmware, so I have slightly greater confidence that a Roamio will work, and I really like the idea of the user interface being faster).
My wireless N adaptor would no longer connect after the upgrade... I reset the adaptor and tried to log into it at 192.168.10.1... but it's not home. Won't connect via WiFi Protected setup either. Appears to be bricked.
Has anyone else experienced this?
