I read the thread Sudden problem transferring from Premiere to PC
and it seemed the fix was to edit the edit the curl.config or curl.conf located in the %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local as pointed out by Krellion (Response 18
However, when I looked in this location, I did not have either file.
I am using Windows 7 Ultimate and TiVo Desktop 2.8.2.
I have been under the weather and have not checked on it for awhile.
Do I create this file ( curl.config or curl.conf ?) and add cookie = "sid=abc"
? And is there an easier way to have the Desktop download everything or do I have to manually choose each one?
(I tried pyTiVo but I just could not get my head around it unfortunately.)
I have a Seagate Backup Plus Drive. It gives the date and time of the transfer in its Dashboard, but so far, I can't find folder names or folder contents there or in E under Computer.
How do I pull up the contents or where do I find it?
Note: This is the first time I've used an external drive for anything, so maybe I'm doing something wrong.
**Note: I guess I'm just supposed to simply drag and drop or use "Move To" to transfer from my computer to the external hard drive. I'm still not sure what I was doing in the Dashboard that gave me only the date. What's the Dashboard for then?
I have a new installation of Pytivo and I am only seeing config and pull on my web page. I have defined two shares--one local and one on a NAS. They both show up in the web conf and the file but not on the home page.
I see people talking about setting the username and password but I don't see anything on the tivo side that has username and password. Just media access key which is specified and works (I did a test pull).
I know this is just a newbie thing but can somebody tell me which magic setting is missing and if its user/password where do I get those?
I, of course, ran into the transfer problem everyone seemed to have around 2/15, but after I fixed it (with the help of a great thread on tivo community), I transferred a video which came across about 40% smaller file size than reported on the tivo premiere itself. Tivo Desktop is my default transfer mechanism.
First I transferred some files via kmttg (using all defaults) when tivo desktop didn't work, and everything seemed normal. Then I got the tivo desktop transfer working & transferred 2 more files. One came across normally (HD), the other (SD) didn't.
I didn't compare file sizes until I noticed the playback seemed inferior to me (B&W movie on TCM). Then I noticed tivo reported this a around 4.1 GB, but what came across was only 2.5 GB. I then tried a kmttg transfer. In kmttg's view of the tivo's program list, showed 4.10 GB, but when I brought it across, I got the same result (2.5) as Tivo desktop. Ostensibly, the file size reported by tivo is not supposed to be accurate, but I find that it typically is very close... and 2 GB/min of SD for this channel is pretty typical.
I transferred a second movie reported as the same size (4.1 GB) from the same channel, with the same result (~2.5 GB).
It's driving me crazy that I can't determine whether I have an anomaly or a real quality issue.
Lots of  moments in this episode, but nothing can ever top the FBI helping Hank dig up the clock, letting him take it out, and then letting him go home with it to open it up by himself.
Seriously? none of the writers, producers, show runners, actors, directors, executives, ...etc. saw this and said "wait...what?!"
OP is a thread crap! I refuse to stop watching the show!
Fox just announced its summer schedule, and there's quite a bit of shuffling:
8:00 - Raising Hope repeats
8:30 - The Goodwin Games
9:00 - New Girl repeats
9:30 - The Mindy Project repeats
So You Think You Can Dance? (two-hour episodes; like last season, there will be only one episode per week)
Masterchef (the first night is a 2-hour episode; after that, it might be a repeat of the previous week at 8:00 followed by a new episode at 9:00)
8:00 - Does Someone Have to Go? (you may have heard of this as "Someone's Gotta Go", which was a failed 2009 pilot; it's described as "The Office meets Survivor," where someone from a "struggling" company "could be" fired)
9:00 - Hell's Kitchen (which started in mid-March)
8:00 - Bones repeats
9:00 - The Following repeats
Major League Baseball
(Fox's new late night animation block starts July 27)
Sundays - the same as it is now, but all repeats
When Fox wants to move a show to a new day, it likes to do it in the summer, so this could be a signal that they want to move the comedies to Monday nights; we'll know more at upfronts in May.
Hey folks, sorry if this has been addressed somewhere else, no combination of keywords I tried seemed to locate any threads...
Long story short, I set up a WishList about a month ago for a program I desperately wanted to see (first video of a live giant squid, called "Monster Squid"). I set it to tape both first run and reruns, to be sure it would record. Just now I remembered it had aired sometime this week. So I just sat down to dial it up for viewing and - nothing...
When I checked my 'History' under 'Manage Recordings/Downloads', I see a gray X next to all four showings of the program (an HD and a regular def at 8 PM, again at 11 PM on the 28th), and a notation that none of them recorded - because allegedly 'the same program appeared in My Shows or the To Do list within 28 days of this broadcast.'
What the heck?! I set up this recording precisely because it would be shown on only one date - it is NOT airing again - and believe me when I tell you I have looked absolutely all over the My Shows list, sorted it by every means conceivable, and it is NOT in the My Shows list!
$%^&*@!! I am really getting tired of this being made so complicated (I have a laundry list of problems starting with how much I hate the arbitrary HD folder, why the Spotify app is so kludgy, why I can't stop 'suggestions' I don't want, etc. I also can't find a show I bought from Amazon which allegedly downloaded...)
This may be the last straw. I really cannot live with a DVR that won't tape things I specifically tell it to because of some ghost in the machine. Anyone got thoughts here?!
This is the cheapest i've seen for a MoCA Network Adapter.
Shipping was 8.50 for me and and not much more if you order more than one.
All Archers are great but this one was even better. Anthony Bourdain makes for a super guest voice and the writers caught his personality perfectly.
I've been wanting to watch this show for years, but wanted to start at the beginning. Now I can.
Just a PSA.
Watched Season 1, Episode 1 last night. Wow! Loved it. The main good dude and the main bad dude were great characters. I'm hoping bad dude isn't dead. Knowing he's a relatively big star (from The Shield), I imagine they didn't kill him off and he's due back.
The new remotes have new A - D buttons.
It would be great if say the A button could be set to toggle closed captioning while watching a show.
Currently toggling closed captioning requires multiple button pushes, and it requires bringing up the info page on top of what you are watching, obscuring the show. In addition the closed caption toggle is at a different location on the info page depending on if you are watching live TV, a show being recorded or a previously recorded show.
Turning on closed captioning is awesome when no matter how many times you rewind you still can't figure out some piece of dialog. However the captions do obscure part of the screen so you don't necessarily want to leave captions on for the whole show.
From the article:
In the strictest definition, a PC was an IBM PC running PC-DOS on an Intel x86 processor. That would later expand to a PC-compatible machine running MS-DOS on an x86 CPU. These days, Id say, the definition is pretty liberal: any x86 or x86-64 machine running a stand-alone x86-compatible operating system. It doesnt even mean you have to run a Microsoft OS, but you should be able to install any compatible OS you want. After all, a ThinkPad running Ubuntu is as much a PC as a corporate Wintel box. And yes, I think that x86 boxes with secure UEFIs that dont let you install Linux or other alternative OSes fail to live up to the definition of a PC. And yes, the Mac is just an overpriced PC.
How does my litmus test work on todays hardware? Lets see. Is the iPad a PC? No, its not x86 and its pretty well locked down. Is it a personal computer? Yes. Is a Citrix terminal running Windows XP remotely a PC? No. Is it a personal computer? No, its a terminal. Is your smartphone running Android 4.1 a PC? No. Is it a personal computer? Yes. Is a Windows 8 Pro convertible tablet a PC? Yes. Is Microsofts Surface RT tablet running Windows RT a PC? No. Is it a personal computer? Yes. Is a Google Chromebook a PC? If its x86, then yes, but not when its running Chrome OS. Why not? Chrome OS is far closer to being a terminal than a personal computer.
I used to agree with this assessment, but over the last year or so, after using my tablets (Android and iPad) and my smartphone as much or more than my home PCs (not including work PC here), I've come to the conclusion that MY definition of a PC has changed. I probably argued against this in another thread, but I'm now in the camp that agrees that Apple is the largest PC maker, on the strength of their mobile devices.
What say you? Should make for some interesting Friday chatter :D
I'm new to TiVo and was told that a new TiVo will record all episodes that haven't aired in the last 28 days even when season passes are set to record "New" episodes only. Recently I had to do a "Clear and delete everything" on one of my TiVo's to clear up an issue I was having. Dies this reset the 28 day rule?
I'm having the same issue with both of my Premiere XL4's wherby my TiVo's will respond normally to the TiVo button either using the remote or the iPhone/iPad app for a while and then all of a sudden the button seems to have no effect until I reboot. This issue is not related to my remote as this behavior occurs with both of my remotes as well as the iOS TiVo app and clears up after a reboot. Sometimes, I'll hear the ding when I press the TiVo button but no UI. FYI, I'm using the HD menus. I'm starting to wonder if this is related to the iOS app...
Has anyone else had this experience?
How to convert FLV video to my iPad?
Whenever I get a recording from KMTTG, it decrypts using TivoDecode and then it is a nice mpg file that plays in VLC, windows media player, etc. I tried throwing the video into Adobe Premiere CS6 and the audio was out of sync; not just a second off but it was a worsening sync as time went on. I had KMTTG encode using handbreak and ffmpeg but the resulting videos had the same problem in Premiere CS6. I also tried converting the mpg manually to an avi using ffmpeg, but Premiere CS6 still had sync issues. The same problem happens with every show, regardless of channel HD/SD. Has anyone run into this problem? Any solutions? Thanks in advanced.
PS... I always said CS6 after Premiere because that name can be rather confusing on this forum.
A previously record show on a Tivo HD?
