OK, this show was kind of fun. You can catch it on Logo. Too bad they had to silence a lot of the swearing; BBC is pretty blue! I suppose it would be better if we "found" the original somewhere, but it's not such a great show that I feel compelled to go to those lengths. A good summer show though.
When I do an a/v connection directly to the TV, the video works fine, but the audio is muted - if I max out the TV volume, can just barely hear sound. If I move the a/v cables from the Tivo to a DVD player, audio works normally. Previously had a/v connected thru a receiver, no audio problems (would prefer not to use a receiver and speakers due to temporary space limitations)
I've contacted tech support, and they're stumped. Tried both Dolby Digital and PCM settings, no change. Tried rebooting several times, briefly got sound on one of the reboots, then lost it again.
Any ideas? Thanks!
I know this topic has come up several times in the past, but after going through them, I don't see a real decisive answer.
I have a Comcast set-top box as well as a Tivo with a cablecard. On my Comcast bill, I have a charge of $9.95 for "HD Additional Outlet".
I was told by Comcast that since I have HD service on the cablecard, I am charged $9.95.
Does that sound right?
I have never had this problem before.
But all of a sudden none of my season passes are being scheduled or showing up in my to do list.
I tried a manual connect to the Tivo service and a reboot.
Neither of these things worked. If I manually schedule a show to record it will show up in the to do list. But like I said, none of my season passes are now being scheduled.
I have a few news programs that air 5 days a week and should always be scheduled to record (but not anymore) so it isn't like a show has ended and that is why it is not showing up in the to do list.
Anyone else have this problem or know how I can fix this? It is a major issue to have all your season passes not showing up to be recorded.

), and a potential buyer asked for the service number to confirm lifetime service.
Yes, I've searched and come up with posts about giving it out after
the sale, but nothing specifically about before the sale.
My feeling is that my service number is the key to my lifetime service, and I could have my "identity stolen" :)
I know the lifetime stays with the box, but can't someone call Tivo, say they just bought a used box have it transferred to that box?
Would you give up your service number to someone on Ebay?

I just bought a premier that gives me 45 hours of HD or 405 of SD. My question is I am on digital cable from comcast and i set my recording quality to "Basic" because i figure the digital quality even on basic recording will be way better then before.
However I do record programs from the HD channels in the lineup. So if i record from the HD channels is that taking up more space even though i am supposed to be recording in basic?:confused:
Is there a way to stop Tivo from automatically recording Live TV? I have an old Tivo, can't afford a new one, and don't want to wear out the hard drive with it constantly recording.
I like this show. It's not drop dead funny, but they get their money's worth from the jokes. And Charlie Sheen is a master of the "Charlie Sheen style of comedy acting".
Tonight (ep 3 or 4?) had Denise Richards. And they *really* got their money's worth with her "ex-husband" jokes.
The ex is ok, same with his sextherapist. But the therapy group is a gold mine of characters.
Hi everyone! I've been a TIVO member for 4 years now with a TIVO HD. I just moved to an area that is serviced by Insight.
I was quoted a $65 bundle for internet and cable and this package included the $7 standard set top box in the pricing. I told them that I would be electing to use my own paid for equipment and would need an M-card. The woman told me I'd be charged an additional $1.99 for using an M-card.
From what I understand of the rules and what I have received with Comcast is that the company is allowed to charge me to rent an M-card, but if the package I am paying for includes the price of the set top box, and I elect to not take their equipment, I am to receive a discount that is no less than the price of renting a cable card.
I talked to multiple upper managements but they wouldnt hear it. It was clear nobody in the office had any idea about the regulations or billing of a cablecard. They kept telling me that the discount I kept referring to (from the FCC rules) was included since I was receiving the current promotional price that all customers are being offered for bundled service. So I was already receiving a discount...
So my options were to set up 1 TV with a M-card and elect to not receive the free set top box for 66.99 or set up 2 TVs (1 with a M-card and 1 with the set top box) for 66.99. Aka the same price. How is that right!?
This was an over 40 minute phone conversation with no resolution. They are the only service provider in the area so I chose to set up two tvs even though I currently only have 1 TV. They've made it so I have no option!
Im writing a complaint to the FCC. But I wanted to make sure that I understand my rights and the regulations correctly.
In the past I've received my cable card at no additional cost because my package already included a set top box and even at that Comcast gave me a monthly discount for using my own equipment. I know Comcast wasnt giving me discounts for fun!
It may be a small amount to rent the cablecard, but it is the fact of the matter that there are rules and regulations that they don't even know of or wont adhere to.

Is Tivo Stream a device used to stream to other TV's or to tablets/phones? In another thread it was mentioned that Tivo Stream might be included in new Tivo models. If it's designed to stream to TV's, bundling it in a Tivo is kinda of redundant. What exactly is Tivo Stream?

Setup a series link for "How the Universe Works" on Discovery HD. When I checked my planned recordings at 6PM, the 9PM showing of How the Universe Works was scheduled as expected.
Happened to check the schedule at 8:55PM and discovered that although the next two weeks of planned recordings were still there, the 9PM showing of How the Universe Works had disappeared. Checked the hiccups and the reason for not recording was that there was either not enough room for the recording or it predicted there would not be enough room when the recording was due?
Very odd considering I only have 3 recordings to watch, the disk is only 2% full and all my planned recordings for the next two weeks are still scheduled!
I left the box alone till 8:59 PM when it should have started recording (I have 2 minutes pre-padding so I gave it an extra minute) and it had not sorted itself out so I had to start the recording manually.
Anyone any ideas what happened?
New TiVo user here (since yesterday) that has just downloaded the iPhone app. The app works fine when i'm home in-network. Outside the network over 3G, I get the "....your TiVo box "xxxx" does not appear to be connected to the Internet. Please fix your connection, or try again later." when trying to schedule recordings or look at shows.
My TiVo Premiere is hardwired to the router.
What gives here?
Do I need to forward a port on my router?
