I am paying $12.95 a month for the first TiVo and $9.95 a month for the second one.
I am wondering whether I could get a cost savings by going with a Premiere 4 and a Tivo Mini on the other TV, or whether I should leave well enough alone.
It looks like they are offering the bundle with $400 service instead of $500. Am I reading that right? It also looks like they're not doing it for the XL4.
Recently got a new premiere to update the old HD. Will the season passes shown as 'corrupt - delete me (updating)' ever resolve as those shows come back into the guide, or do I really want to just delete them?
After many years of use several of the buttons on my Sat-t60 rm-y809 quit working so I bought a replacement. I was able to program the correct remote address but cannot program it to control my TV because the light won't stay lit after pushing & holding the TV & TiVo buttons. I tried to hold the TV & select buttons to do a factory reset but the light won't stay on. I also tried to use the learning function but again the light won't stay on. Can anyone help?

Thank you all for your patience as we develop a solution for this issue. I wanted to provide an update which may help answer any questions you may have.
Fortunately weve identified the issue is a result of a bug within the TiVo DVR software and are planning on a patch for TiVo Desktop which will allow transfers to start functioning again. This affects Series 2, Series 3, and Series 4 DVRs. We are currently in the testing and validation process of the patch and will make it available as soon as possible. Once this patch is made available and applied, the transfer feature will be functional.
At this time, 3rd party applications and devices such as ReadyDLNA devices, Windows Home Server devices, Roxio Toast/Popcorn for Mac, the transfer features availability will depend on how strict those devices are in allowing Transfers from a TiVo DVR with this bug. For reference, Ive been made aware that Mac Software such as Roxio Toast continues to allow transfers but devices such as Netgears ReadyNAS which use ReadyDLNA are not allowing transfers.
Until a software update is made available for TiVo DVRs, these 3rd party devices and software may not allow transfers.
We have addressed this bug in the latest Series 4 release and expect to deploy an update on Series 2 and Series 3 which will address the bug as well. The availability date for these software updates is still to be determined.
Once I have more information around availability of the TiVo Desktop patch I will be sure to share.

I just pulled the plug on the 4 deal. I already have a stream so i removed it from the bundle and got the 4 for 187. Also got the Moca adaptor for 34 dollars. I didnt need the adaptor but that is a great price. Also fantastic price on the 4

It's funny as hell. Ken Marino is either one funny dude, or he's not not one funny dude - he's been around for a really long time, but I'm just now starting to appreciate him.
Season 2 is just starting online - but E! is only on Season 1, so that's what this thread would be about.
Finding the One
Okay, so Ive complained that this season hasn't been up to par, but last week picked up a lot. And the big reveal of Drew Thompson last night was definitely a surprise worth waiting for..:up:
So i have a Tivo HD Xl and FIOS in NYC. All my channels work fine and I have never had any issues in many years. But recently my recordings on comedy central (ch 690 in NYC) have become unwatchable. Lots of pixellation. Then this week the Tivo can't even get a signal on channel 690 so all i get is black. of course every other channel works fine. i rebooted, power-cycled the tivo and still the same problem. I contacted FIOS and they tested the signal from their end and could not resolve the problem. They are sending a new cable card in the mail however. Anyone have any ideas why one channel won't work? FIOS said no one in my viewing area was complaining about ch 690....

Yes I know, next to nobody here watches this one but it's still on our small list of shows we somewhat enjoy, as cheesy as it may be.
Tonight's episode was a nice departure from the norm for sure.Just the right blend of wtf/creepiness.
Not sure how Megan(sp) can't be thinking that it was a real possession based on what the girl was saying to her. Especially the final scene. I just knew they were gonna through in that kind of twist but wasn't sure when it was going to come.
The bad thing about these kind of shows (well most really) is that this bizarre thing that just happened to her (main character) will most likely never be discussed ever again during the show, no matter how creepy that final encounter with the girl was. It will be like it never happened.
Oh well, no biggie.
So I'd give this ep a solid B just because it did stray nicely into the "supernatural" in this case.
I'm looking to upgrade the hard drive on my tivo hd. I was hoping someone could recommend a good hard drive that is known to work well with the TiVo hd. I checked out the FAQ but it looks like it hasn't been updated for the TiVo hd in a while. I would probably look for either a 500gb or 1tb drive depending on the price difference.

Any ideas what it means? Are they transitioning to MPEG-4 on these channels?
I assume this optimistic footnote means their cablecard is compatible, but that my TiVoHD is probably not.

I currently have two Premier units hooked up via wired Ethernet into a gigabit switch. Would moving these devices to MOCA help me in any way?
I have a Series 3 with the SPWR-00008-000 RevA3 power supply which I have removed and don't see any obviously blown or leaking caps. Was thinking of buying a working Series 3 on ebay and swapping the power supply rather than paying weaknees $99. I'm not comfortable enough with the solder skills to fix it myself but if I could diagnose the caps as the issue, I could probably order the ESR ones others have linked to and find someone to solder it in. The unit has lifetime service and I had actually sold it on ebay for $375 but it was returned to me with the power supply problem between when I shipped it and it was returned.
I don't *think* the buyer pulled a quick swap on me and I don't need the TiVo anymore since I use DirecTV but would like to get my value out of it so am looking for suggestions on how to fix/diagnose.
I have read many posts about cloning drives, failed or otherwise, to try and preserve the data (aka recordings) on the existing drive. I don't want people to think I am starting a thread without reading existing advice, I have, but the problem I have is that for those who are new to the process involving TiVos (not technically novice, but TiVo novice) that the steps provided lack a certain degree of specificity that would allow for a more reliable and confident attempt.
What is my situation:
- I have a Series 2 DVR (Humax T2500)
- It has an upgraded drive (larger drive)
- The OS and all functions are fine, but the drive hits sectors which result in the system rebooting or stalling (suggests drive is dying)
- I have lots of recordings which I don't want to lose and want to carry over to the new drive (of the same size at the moment)
What do I need:
- What is the best drive to use as a replacement to reduce decay in the future
- Windows or Linux is not a problem, I can use both and I have the technical knowhow (25+ years) which allow me to use any setup without a problem - Linux seems to be preferred
- What application will most efficiently and without too much guess work or fuss make a copy of all the OS, data, settings and recordings to a new drive without killing both the source and/or new destination - have considered DD and MFS
- Any advice or specific steps would be appreciated, a sort of how-to or relative step-by-step if possible, would be greatly appreciated
I will gladly post my experiences, discoveries and suggestions after completing this to assist others and leave a more beginner friendly DIY in the future, so any help and details will not be a waste and can possibly serve as a manual for others in the future.

Don't know if it is affecting anybody else, but my season pass is not picking up the the next two episodes because they have the wrong original airdate. I am running a directv hr24, so I don't know if this affects a TiVo.
