This is a little OT, but I'm hoping someone here can help. I have an optical audio connection from my Premiere to my Sony receiver and Component vid to the TV. (Using the TiVo HDMI output for something else.) Receiver is set for DD. Sound is fine on all cable channels and every broadcast channel except two. As far as I know these two channels are both in DD, at least it says so on the info screen. One is NBC (Los Angeles). I can actually get all of the Olympics audio with the TiVo set to DD, but very few of the commercials. But for most other NBC programs I am forced to go into the TiVo settings and switch to PCM which is a pain in the butt.
Any suggestions or explanations?
I'm not quite done yet, but wanted to chime in with two things before I forget.
Brittany looked amazing in her gym outfit, and downright sinful on the booty scooter.
And that was a very smart move on Dan's part in his selection for the sushi party.
The tongue competition was pretty gross, though.
I'm trying to access my billing history on TIVO's website but when I click on that link, a blank page is returned - completely empty except for a title which states BILLING HISTORY. When I contacted TIVO about this they told me it was either a problem with my computer or browser. I tried accessing the page on 3 different pcs, using 2 different browsers (Firefox & IE), as well as an Android device and all of them respond the same - nothing is returned on the page. TIVO insists it's my error - anyone have success getting this page?

I am hoping I can get a little advice from people more knowledgeable then me.
For the past two years I have had a tivo with rcn but on Thursday I am finally getting fios which of course does not offer tivo. So that leaves me with two choices the xl4 or build an htpc. I really like the look of wmc, dont hate tivo but it comes down to cost and what I am getting for that price. I can get a new xl4 on ebay for about $350 , the max I could spend on an htpc would be about $450 or $500. I am sure I could build a fine pc for that price but I need a tuner that takes a cable card so that (I believe) leaves me with Ceton or SiliconDust for $200 so I am down to $300. I recently built a desktop for over $1500 with an i5-2500k which would be more then enough but it is often used while someone is watching tv. Then there is reliability. I have read many reviews of people having problems with the tuners, I have never had a problem with my tivo. I wouldn't want to spend $500 and end up with a headache. So i guess it boils down to three questions. 1. Could I build a quality htpc for $300? 2. If anyone has used either device how reliable are they? 3. If you have used tivo and WMC is the extra $150 + worth it? I know there is a service fee ($12) but I only have about $500 available right now.
Thanks for your help.
I have a tivo HD, i moded it once with a 1TB drive, and then again with a 2TB drive. It has run very well for over a year now.
Over the past few months I've noticed that it has been giving me warnings that program info is running out. I go in and check and my tivo connected successfully within about a day of this warning. That just hasn't made any sense. If it connected successfully, wouldn't it have about 2 weeks of program info on it?
I rebooted the tivo once and that seemed to make the warning go away, but then in 2 weeks it came back. I checked and again said it was successful.
I just ignored it, then it went away on its own. The 3rd time i checked and it said failed, so i did a manual connect. Successful again, and in a few days the warning went away.
Well today it said it failed and gave an s03 error. I did some searching and found that most likely this is a hard drive issue. I "unfortunately" read that if you do a guided setup and change zipcodes this might fix it, well now i'm stuck in guided setup loop where it can't complete successfully, and if i pull the plug and reboot it goes right back to guided setup.
Any way to get it to stop going to guided setup?
I pulled the drive and read with dd_rescue I can copy the drive byte for byte, and its doing that right now. I bet it will take 20hours to complete. My 2nd question is, if it isn't able to recover these bad sectors that are causing the s03 error, will I just get the same errors? Is there a way for me to force tivo to reinstall the software with "kickstart"? Will I lose all of my recordings when i do get the software re-synced up?
I need help in setting up my cisco 4642HCD with my series 2DT. it won't change channels.
Today, just before 4:00p CDT, both of my TiVo Premieres froze and rebooted. They were both recording only one channel (Olympics on our local OTA NBC affiliate). On one of the Tivo's, we were just watching live TV on another channel. Without any warning, the picture froze, then a minute later, the TiVo rebooted.
I wanted to make sure that the other TiVo hadn't been interrupted and found that it had also rebooted about 5 minutes earlier than the one we were watching.
I didn't observe any sort of power issues at the time. They just rebooted with no warning.
Hi TiVo forum...I'm new here,just upgraded recently up TiVo with grande...I'm using one of the preview boxes and was looking at the add apps in TiVo central.I also upgraded to the forty megabyte speed wireless Internet and have the router next to my box with ethernet cable wired up...will I still need the ip address?? I used the ip address off my ps3 since my desktop is down...but I get the error "no service no ping"anyone know if I'm missing something or why I can't connect?? Also,what apps are available as of now?? Thanx zmb187
I've been a Tivo user since 2000. I have had my latest series 2 for five years. I want to get a HD version of the box. They now tell me I had a product lifetime warrenty on it and I must get a new lifetime warrenty for almost $400. I've had three boxes in my Tivo lifetime and never had a problem upgrading and no one ever mentioned a product lifetime subscription. I was under the impression that I brought a lifetime subscription in 2000.
Two questions: Is product support right that I have to get a new lifetime subscription? Is there any way to upgarde the series 2 to HD since it works fine?
I know they need to make money, but it stinks.
Having issues with MRV between (2) Premiers. When transferring a show, transfer time is roughly 2 hours for a 30 minute show (in HD). When using the "play now" feature the audio and video stutter every 2 seconds. I have never been able to use this feature effectively, any help would be appreciated.
Does anyone know when the Tivo stream service is going to be released? Thanks for any help.

I just read a response to a question about "Resume Playing" that said the problem had been fixed, but it's still a problem on my TiVo. Half the time my programs start from the beginning, instead of Resuming from where I stopped watching them.
Is there a special way to exit a running program to prevent it from starting from the beginning when you back to it?
After 2 years of using my Tivo I have decided to move my Shared Directories folder from my Desktop to my: Mac/username folder/ now apart from dragging the folder their how do I change the 7 folders within location so my Tivo player can see them.
Thanks in advance
Having a bit of an issue with pyTiVo and aspect ratios on my Premieres.
I have 16:9 files and everything transfers fine, but I need to put the TiVo into ZOOM (stretch horizontally and vertically) in order to view it properly. FULL is stretched horizontally and PANEL is the correct aspect, just with black bars all the way around.
I swear this used to work perfect on my TiVo HDs before I upgraded. I'm also not sure if moving pyTiVo to a new server has made a difference. I am using the same config file I did before.
Here is my current config:
height = 720
width = 1280
keys = console,rotfile
type = admin
force_alpha = True
type = video
path = d:\movies
port = 9032
temp = C:\Users\Public\Documents\pyTivo
ffmpeg = C:\Program Files\pyTivo\bin\ffmpeg.exe
height = 720
width = 1280
keys = basicform
I have tried with "aspect169 = true" with the same result.
I am brand new to the TIVO community. I just bought a Premiere (Series 4) for OTA broadcasts only. I've been having some issues with recording shows, though.
For example, when watching the Olympics I will often get an alert saying that I have to change the channel in order to record a single show on another station. However, I know the TIVO can record 2 shows at the same time because it's been recording Suggestions in the background during the Olympics all night long.
Why is the Tivo telling me I have to to change the channel to the channel that's going to record when the Tivo will record Suggestions all night long without a hitch or asking me to change the channel?
sometimes i have a problem while logging into a forum. Does anybody have the same problem?
I missed a fairly recent episode of Lost Girl and it is not on iTunes, Amazon or Netflix. Any place else I could get it?
Idle curiosity really:
I've just been switching from firefox to google-chrome on linux, and when I access the https web connection on my TiVo premiere to use the browser to look at what is recorded on the TiVo, the column that, under firefox, has channel names for which channel recorded the program, under chrome, it just has a broken image icon. Apparently the web page provided by the TiVo is referencing an image URL such as:
and that gives a 404 not found error.
Under firefox, the URL
works fine. Anyone have a clue what the difference is here between FF and chrome?
