i dont know if you call it sentimental or foolish but when i start watching something, i pretty much go with it til the end. i just want to see how it continues and i hate to let the actors down because i know they rely on me watching. plus i hate wasted effort. i cannot remember the last show i watched 1 ep then canceled the SP because it's been that long.
for years i hoped ER got canceled but it took 4 years then i was glad it was over. i was glad zero hour was canceled but i watched to the end. i think deception is a stupid soap opera for prime time but the mystery part of me has me hooked. black gold pretty much is the same thing every season but i watch it. i'm getting to hate the drama on survivor but i'll never stop ( just FF thru in like 15 min)
1600: the son kills me in a bad way but ill watch it. and i doubt this really counts but my local station runs stargate repeats every weekend and i always watch them even though i have a set of dvds with them...sick i tell you
so what shows will you continue to watch until the end?
How does this all work. I have "heard" some people got 1 point and a ban, others, myself included, simply 1 point.
What do the points mean etc. etc.
4 hours in the podcast room! good he doesnt have any other more important work to do. they did a great job casting the math nerd girls. i dont know if this brand of humor has a name but it constantly makes me cringe..i hope thats their intent
Is anybody watching this show: http://channel.nationalgeographic.co.../lords-of-war/
It's got the gun guy from Pawn Stars. They basically setup a tent and have people come in with their weapons and they appraise them and then have an auction.
I've watched a couple of episodes so far and it isn't bad, especially being that it is only 30 minutes long.
When watching a recorded show, I fast forward thru the commercials. I have only recently seen this behavior happen. I never had it happen before, but only now for several months. When pressing the fast forward and releasing the button, the fast forward continues until I press Pause or Play to resume. I have seen the fast forward start and suddenly it is at the end of the recording. I know you can press fast forward and hold it and it will advance to end of recording. But this happens when you start the fast forward and button is released. Fast forward is going then suddenly jumps to end. If you did not watch the screen, you may not realize you skipped half the show and the end of recording banner appears for deletion.
Wondering if anyone has had this happen (tivo software problem?) or maybe the remote is wearing out. Buttons feel like they always have, not getting mushy or have to press harder.
I was looking around for a Google TV unit, and noticed that the Netgear NeoTV GTV100 and Vizio Co-Star look very much the same, even use the same remote. Anyone know if they are technical the same hardware wise, just branded\marketed differently?
What I liked about the Co-Star was the it has pass-through video, thus I could use it 'in-line' with my Tivo. Not sure if the Netgear device also offers pass-through video; assuming it would if they are the same hardware.
I am using Pytivo with HP WHS and Premiere. I was able to xfr a 3GB file from the WHS to the Premiere a few days ago.
The strangest thing is that the file seems to have disappeared from the Premiere. My wife swears she did not delete the file.
Any idea on what could have happened here? I wanted to keep the file on the Premiere until I deleted it manually.
Please let me know. Thanks.
I have a Tivo App on my Ipad... I can pull up everything by using my Media Access Key....
However on TivoDesktop 2.8.3, it continually says that there is no Tivo DVR on the network... one time it finally showed all my shows but would not let me transfer to my PC----I rechecked the Media Access Key and it was correct.
I enjoy watching the show Castle and even record some of the older shows to watch. I have noticed that the Tivo guide shows one of them starting at 5 minutes after the hour in the guide but it actually starts on the hour. As a result the first 5 minutes arent recorded. I would have to go in each week to add a 5 minute earlier record for that one show to record the whole show.
Since this happens every week it sounds as if there is a mistake in the guide.
I think there was info posted once about how to send info to Tivo to make corrections to the guide. However, with the way this board's search works I havent had any luck finding it.
I'm almost done watching "Game of Thrones" season 1 on Blu-Ray and I will finish watching season 2 Blu-Ray before season 3 starts on 3/31.
I'm a forgetful person and my memory fails me consistently. I'm certain that I will forget to schedule season 3 to record if I don't do it now, while I'm thinking about it.
I used the iPad app to search for "Game of Thrones" and then tapped "Episodes." It shows "Valar Dohaeris - Sea 3 Ep 1 - First aired: 3/31/13" -- but I can't specifically schedule that episode to record. I can only choose: Record > Get a Season Pass.
It appears that the season pass will only record from standard-def HBO2 channel 202 instead of HBO HD channel 830. I know it's because the currently-downloaded guide listings for HBO HD do not include any airings of "Game of Thrones."
Is there any way I configure the season pass for "HD only" or "channel 830 only?"
See my attached screenshot to understand the problem.
When this show was announced, I thought it would be like Battlebots with teams of engineers competing with RC robots built on RC car chassis or for larger robots, lawn mower chassis etc. instead I noticed that the teams consisted of a technical type and an athlete. Weird show with only two completions shown per episode.
Anyone else watching this?
This makes lack of Season Pass Manager & To Do list functions missing on the Mini even more confounding:
Using the kmttg RPC remote "Season Passes" function on the Mini it returns the same SPs as querying the host Elite unit. I'm able to re-order SPs, change options etc. all as if I were doing it directly on the Elite.
Same also goes for the "ToDo" list. I'm able to show all upcoming recordings (which match the host Elite unit ToDo list) and cancel shows, etc.
i.e. When querying the Mini for those functions it is just passing along the information from the host unit and everything works as if you were just querying the host unit itself. So since that all seems to work fine it's even more curious why that functionality is missing from the Mini GUI.
I am moving in a week and just purchased my first TiVo. I bought the tivo premiere and a lifetime subscription. In my new house I have already scheduled an appointment to have FIOS Internet and TV setup. I know that TiVo works with FIOS but I’m confused on a few things.
1. The TiVo needs to be connected to the internet so when the FIOS guys come to install will they be able to hook up my TiVo? I’m confused on the whole router situation with FIOS. It sounds like you do not get a standard wireless router with Ethernet ports. I’m worried that they will activate my FIOS then say thanks and leave since I have TiVo and will only be renting a cable card from them. Do I need to do wireless or something or bridge to my Time Capsule (see below)?
2. I have an apple time capsule that I’d like to use. I don’t necessarily need it to act as a wireless router but I need it to backup my iMac. How do I hook it up to backup my iMac? And is it possible to bridge it to the FIOS router? I’m thinking the Time Capsule may give me better wireless speeds than the FIOS router. I’m not extremely tech savy but I can make my way around.
I realize this could have went on a FIOS forum but I trust this forum may be able to provide answers.
Thanks guys, really looking forward to TiVo!
I have an SP for the FX show 'The Americans' which is set to new only (first-run), unlimited eps, no dupes. Checked the ToDo last night before the show and saw for some reason ALL eps were scheduled including dupes of every showing both last night and next Wednesday. But only for that SP for some reason, and it never did this before on any of my SPs.
Changed the SP to New+repeats, hit OK, saw that nothing changed in ToDo (probably didn't wait long enough). Changed back to New only, moved it down a notch in SP manager to force a reschedule, and everything's back to normal.
Weird that it was only this SP, I'm guessing that it got corrupt somehow. Everything else looks good in ToDo (I have over 60 SPs/ARWLs, about half of which are active now).
I have two S3 DVRs, two Wireless-G (AG0100) adaptors and a Netgear WNR2000 (wireless N) router.
When I transfer recordings from one to another, I get less than 1MB/s.
It is impossible to watch the copies recording in realtime, owing to the slow transfer rate.
It takes hours to transfer the smallest program (best done over night).
Can anyone help. I apologies up front because this must have been covered before, but I have spent the last four hours sufing the reports and I cannot see the answer.
It used to work fine on my old D-Link wireless G router, bot not now.
All responses gratefully received.
This has been happening since forever when I bought my Premiere two years ago. I assumed it was some limitation in the Flash environment, that they couldn't switch to/from Live TV vs HD Tivo menu (with video preview window) without losing the audio stream.
But now that we have full-screen Guide (since Fall update?) it doesn't lose audio going to/from that seemingly identical HD screen.
Do others experience this same issue, and has Tivo ever addressed it?
I did a search and couldn't find anything.
Does mini support CC?
can I play my mp3 and flacs that reside on my nas/pc from my TiVo? I think I heard there was an android app so I could cue it from my tablet and have TiVo output music to my amp?
