Are Roamio HD recordings compatible with HD DVR??
I just reinstalled my HD DVR (Series 3) and I can't transfer HD shows from my Tivo DeskTop to my HD DVR because it says that my HD DVR is not HD.
I just signed up for the hulu plus 2 week trial.
Every show I try to watch gives me a dialog box with "We're sorry.... network issue...."
Is is just me? I know my network is working since I can use youtube etc. and it's all over the same IP that I'm using to post this message.
My wife and I wonder why Steve McGarret occasionally wears his white Navy uniform. We assume he is retired from the Navy so why still wear the uniform? Also, his girlfriend never wears her uniform now that she is retired.
Two questions about romeio
1. Will it stream movies that are on my computer?
2. Since the remote it RF will the tivo convert the signal to a IR blaster to control other equipment?
I paid for the ad free Tapatalk. I see ads at the bottom of pages after the last post on the page. What gives?
I have a premiere series 4 HD Tivo and all of a sudden all of my video provider apps are all gone. I can't download movies from Amazon or Xfinity. I get this message "Amazon is currently unavailable. (V301) Please try again in a few minutes. This is been all day. I've tried cold reboot and forced connection but no success. I don't have the new update, I still have 20.3.1
Anyone have fix?
Though I love the Tivo Apps and would prefer to have as many apps as possible, I would like more control over which apps are visible and the ease of access to some apps.
My suggestion is to allow a small number of user specified apps to be made available on the Now Playing area of the Tivo Central screen. If utilizing the Now Playing area is not feasible, then it could be listed in the Tivo Central menu without having to go into the Showcases & Apps menu item. In either case, being able to assign one of the colored A-D buttons to an app for usewith in the Tivo Central screen would greatly improve the usability.
I would like the ability to toggle on and off the Parental Controls within a Tivo unit (DVR or Mini). Additionally, I would like the lock icon on the TIVO home screen so I can quickly determine if the lock is on or off.
The use-case for this request mostly revolves around ending a Tivo session. Currently it takes several actions to turn off parental Controls. This is too many for some in my household. However, without turning off the controls, our child could easily start a new Tivo session without having the parental Controls enabled.
I kept on getting a c501 error when trying to access "what to watch now" last night.
I inadvertently discovered a fix to my problem while looking for the Opera TV store: "Make a connection to the TiVo Service, and after it is complete go to TiVo Central and press THUMBS DOWN - THUMBS UP - PLAY - PLAY. (This will restart the UI).
Hope this helps someone else.
@BrightHouseCare Now @Tivo supports HTML5 it might be a good time to consider BHTV to digital subscribers. @Opera OperaTvStore @tivodesign
Last time I sent a tweet it was a few months later we received BHTV Desktop.I will compromise, but let's ditch the CableCard and un-necessary boxes and just adapt to working technology.
This might take time for them to consider, the current technology tied to BHTV is Silverlight it's encrypted at sign on for security reasons and as protection in place to prevent screen recorders from capturing the material. (Smart Move).
I use the back door code to minimize the progress bar when paused on my XL4. But I cant seem to get it to work on the Mini. Is this correct? I am able to use the back door code on the Mini which gives the time and and elapsed time of the recording in the upper right hand corner.
How do I force the roamio to release its IP address and get a new one from the router? I changed my router lease time and turned off the TiVo for a longer period (so the router stopped holding that IP for the TiVo), but the roamio pulled the old IP when powered back on.
Just getting my roamio pro set up and I'm 20 feet away from the router with a 20% signal strength?
I've tried moving the router around just to see if it made a difference but it don't. It's fluctuating from 20 to 35% but will jump up to 40 on occasion.
I can take my laptop directly overtop of the roamio and still have an excellent signal so anything I'm missing?
During the lull in new TV, I'm always looking to find new stuff to watch that I wasn't initially interested in, or did not have available to me. One that seems to have gotten good ratings and some buzz is The Blacklist. When I first read the premise, it seemed to me to be another police procedural with a twist. So I passed. If that's what it is, I'll still pass, but if it's really something more, I'd want to take a look.
What say you?
I have some questions I either couldn't find the right answer for or found conflicting answers. I'd appreciate some help in the questions below.
I'm getting the Roamio Plus and 3 mini's.
1. Can a season pass be setup/managed from a mini? I'm re-asking because two different Tivo reps told me I couldn't do this, nor could I record a show I'm watching from a mini. That sounded wrong, so I ask here.
2. Can I manage season passes through an outside internet connection?
3. What, if anything, can I do from an outside internet connection in regard to the Roamio?
4. Is there any internet functionality (inside of your network) that you can do with a Roamio?
5. Is there a screen that tells me if a recording didn't record as planned, including when/if a tuner doesn't tune it in properly?
6. How dynamic is the online guide, meaning, does it change if something is going to be preempted on short notice (1 day?) ?
7. Is it possible to use one of the outputs on the Roamio to feed a coax cable that runs to my kitchen TV? If so would an adapter be needed?
8. Do the mini's have RF and IR capability?
That's all the questions I couldn't find good, solid answers for. For some of them I found more than one answer, usually conflicting each other.
Comcast's OnDemand rollout is DOA. I understand that there were some technical issues that only allowed a few areas to experience Comcast OnDemand on their TiVo boxes but what if they developed an app for the Opera TV Store? Couldn't Comcast release one piece of software and all TiVo's (that have access to the Opera Store) would have access to their OnDemand library? There's already an OnDemand app in both the Apple App Store and Google Play so its not crazy to think that they could develope one for the Opera Store, right?
My Tivo HD keeps rebooting about every two hours and I am not sure what might be causing this, could it be a faulty hard drive?
If so I have a replacement what kind of tool do I need to remove the case to get to the drive?
As of Early this morning reports are coming in the apps are trinkling in. TechCrunch and MoviePhone arrived, was told in the Roamio section that OperaTvStore was on the list on mine it was not. So I am making a connection to TiVo to force it down.
Your TiVo just got a little more powerful with choices.
Now here is my thought, the MoviePHone app is nice but for me seems like a rehash of material. The majority of what it offers is built into my HuluPlus in the category of Movies we have Trailers (In Theater and Coming Soon). But as for DVD info that has been available in the AOLon app under Entertainment.
But as we are striving to learn, sometimes a one-stop does all is a better way to go as "Variety is the Spice of Life" so with that said I will give these apps the attention they deserve and look them over to determine what I think about them based on Navigation, Look and Feel. That said, The MoviePhone app is very nicely put together.
OMG! Opera TV Store is here it's really here!
After the update from connecting it will not appear, you will need to manually reboot TiVo and then it will appear in APPS.
Facebook on tv is like wow. -- all your content available minus GAMES.
Earlier today I had that dreaded C133 error signaling an outage. Since this was at 2 AM I figured TiVo was doing some scheduled maintenance. Apparently I was correct. I turned my TiVo on at around 6:30 and the Opera TV store is now available along with MovieFone and (only one) TechCrunch. I haven't had a chance to explore the TV Store yet, but there's quite a lot of apps.
