Just wondering for you using OTA .. I have it in the attic and I get pretty good reception.. just wondering how much of a difference it might make to stick it on the roof.. is it really worth the effort? thanks....
Not sure how many folks have access to it. Plus you probably wouldn't appreciate the nostalgia of it if you're under say 40 or so. It's only available via OTA antenna for now but I really dig a lot of the old classic shows they have.
They show everything from the old Batman series, Bob Newhart, Bewitched, Twilight Zone, Star Trek etc.
If you like "old school" TV from the 50's,60's,70's, I highly recommend trying to tune it in.
Siberia episode "Fire in the Sky" on NBC was preempted tonight in order to air a special about the new prince. It looks like it's been moved to next week, with all other episode pushed ahead a week. So don't forget to check and make sure it is recording next week.
Some serious acting chops were on display in this episode.
I'll admit to my eyes watering up when Bullet's picture was on the board.
I was on the "They're gonna do it" train when Holder and Linden were on his couch. Thank the tv gods that they didn't.
Even though the prison subplot feels like it's being shoehorned into the main story, there's some fine acting going on in those scenes too.
Damn lying kid.
I have an old [cable] TiVo that I bought around 2002, but that I haven't used in many years.

I finally got the phone call working and it's ready to use... once I have an input to it.
I would like to connect to a new digital TV adapter that has composite video out and channel 3 RF out. I would rather use the composite video out rather than the channel 3 RF out.
On the back of the TiVo, I see composite video inputs, but I have no clue on how to select them. Is it just a special channel number? Is it some configuration somewhere?
Matthew Perry was scheduled to guest host (with "special appearance" by Lisa Kudrow) on Piers Morgan's show on Monday 7/22, but the episode has been postponed indefinitely so they can cover the royal birth in that time slot instead.
There's a Presendential Speech on 8-24-13, you may want to pad your shows set for this Wednesday. I have no idea when the President will be on.
All I can say about this episode is that GinaMarie sure can slurp down some froyo...
Surprised there is no thread yet. You guys have been pretty talkative about this show for the first few episodes of this season.
Anyway, did they finally acknowledge in this episode that Batista still owns the restaurant? I had found it odd up until now that he retired last year and opened a restaurant, and then this season he's been promoted to lieutenant without any mention of his retirement or his restaurant.
So Harry probably killed himself because he couldn't live with what he turned Dexter into, and now Deb wants to kill both herself and Dexter. Obviously she didn't succeed. It will be interesting to see if this changes how Dexter feels about her.
Still waiting to see how Deb's boss fits into this whole thing. I refuse to believe he's nothing more than an ex-cop who is now a PI and Deb's boss.
Interesting that the Brain Surgeon guy would clear out of his house and take all the shoes, but leave his computer and everything else in the basement lair.
NOTE: The news media has reported on some of the goings on in the house. While CBS hasn't shown any other houseguest saying racist comments, I believe it's been reported in many news outlets. This may contain spoilers!!
Just read this article:
We know Aaryn has been painted as a racist by the producers on the the CBS broadcast of the show, but as of yet have ignored comments by others in the house that would be considered bigoted. Should CBS at least mention these comments? Considering that the viewers have a stake in the game this year, should CBS paint a fairer picture of the house guests than they are now? Should Aaryn's comments be the only ones broadcast and mentioned?
Crime Story was one of my favorite shows and I liked him in other roles as well.
I get that this was mostly an episode where the evil chick was trying to get information from Tom, but dang. That was... weird. Some good subtle background info, though.
Who else expected something like this to come at the end of his daydream with him and his wife: "...there's nothing left for you here, but before you go, please tell me one thing... will you be going to Boston, Chicago, Jacksonville or New York?" :D
I've noticed that if you are watching a recorded show, you can hit tivo button, etc and the recorded item keeps playing the little window at the top.
Now it lets you pause it there too, pause/play does that.
My question is how do I make that full screen again? Right now, I hit tivo btn, then tivo to get into now playing, which does rememeber the folder i was in, enter and play.
Since the little box is still playing, there should be a simple 'go back to full screen'. I even tried the 'exit' button, which would make sense to exit the menus, but it doesnt work.
Hey folks I got a question. I have a S3 HDXL, connected to my network via ethernet. I am looking for faster transfer speeds to backup several programs for later watching as well as re encoding to mobile viewing. I have a "n" in my home and good coverage of the network.
As it sits, according to kmttg my wired transfers are averaging about 7 to 10 Mbps.
If I were to use the "TiVo Wireless N Network Adapter" should I be able to get higher transfer speeds?
Any other ideas as well?
I just got through talking to a TiVo CSR about setting the channels I want to receive, that is going through the channel list and deleting "The Jewelry Channel", channels in languages I don't understand, etc. The following is our conversation:
"Larry: When I am selecting which channels I want to see or not see on the channel select screen how do I decide whether to select the low channel number like "25 WFXT" or the high number like "865 WFXTHD" they both give me a HD picture. In fact for reasons I don't understand some channels have 3 or more channels like "25 WFXT", "865 WFXTHD" and "132WFXT" (made up channel numbers). And I'm not counting 25-2, 25-3 etc.
Matthew: That is completely up to you.
Matthew: I always watch the higher up channel as that is generally the HD one. If both are HD to you, it is then completely up to your preference.
Larry: So there is no difference at all??? Why is there even an option?
Matthew: That is up to your cable provider. Generally those lower end channels are standard definition.
Matthew: Are there any other questions I can assist you with today?"
Is that true? I currently have all of the available channels checked and if I have a Season Pass for, say, "CSI: Rest Area" the Upcoming Episodes list shows the same episode 2 or 3 times, once for each channel number. However somehow TiVo knows which one to record.
But maybe I should have just one selected, but which one?
Any suggestions or comments?
TiVo HD, Denon Receiver, Pioneer Plasma, Local channels OTA (and they look better than Comcast)
Much better this week. I feel like I have to watch this show in total silence to get the dialog. Headphones help, too. Which means I'll be watching it, like I did this one, after midnight when everyone else in the house is asleep.
I still didn't hear all the dialog in the scene with Lisa. There was one line she said that I didn't hear after trying three times.
Will screaming at the cop was a bit much. As was MacKenzie throwing a drink at Will for some not very well explained reason.
But the major plot points of Genoa and Maggie in Africa seem to be moving forward. We can only assume she ends up held captive.
Wife and I want to catch up on Homeland, which we missed so far.
If we add Showtime (on Directv), would we have access to seasons 1 and 2 of Homeland on demand? Seems like that would the cheapest way to see the show, binge-watch over the course of a month.
From Showtime's web site it looks like this would work. Can anybody confirm?
