Yeah! That's the ticket.
I love the snappy 1930s dialog.
"You don't look to be in mourning."
"You want me to cry here?"
"Am I in the clear?"
I watched in SD on VoD. It was really tough keeping track of which mug was which.
I gather that the guys who went to meet Hecky were Mickey's guys and one of them hit the guys in the restaurant. (Why?)
They make Mickey Cohen look like a goof. He was very dangerous and ruthless in Gangster Squad.
Who were the two guys in the church? The hit man and the second hit man hiding and watching?
I also lost track of which goon was Joe's the cop's old Marine buddy.
Being that we've seen Neal as a really bad guy before, I was wondering if Chief Boyscout was really corrupt.
I need to watch again in HD.
I have a Humax S2 Tivo (one with the DVD recorder in it). I don't have cable anymore, so all I've been using it for is Amazon downloads.
The last few I've downloaded have had bad issues with the video stuttering. I have a Roku, so I just ended up watching the shows there, and they streamed fine, but I'm wondering if this could be a problem with the TiVo, or if it is more likely just a problem on Amazon's end?
Not sure if I'm in the right place for this question, but its regarding my new Roamio, so here goes.
I just picked up a new Roamio to replace my TivoHD. I did an upgrade through Tivo so I can keep my old monthly rate.
My understanding was that I'd be able to transfer my shows direct Tivo to Tivo. They are telling me now that as soon as I activate the new Roamio, the HD is basically a brick and I won't be able to transfer shows from it, watch them from there or even transfer to a PC.
Is that all correct? Is there any way to get these things online at the same time so I can move my recorded shows over?
I can probably fool the old Tivo into staying alive a bit longer by giving it a bad default gateway which may give me time to transfer shows to a PC. But I'd really prefer to avoid trying to do that if I can and would like to just go Tivo to Tivo.
Is there any solution here that I'm missing?
I'm on Comcast in Central Mass. and I'm thinking about buying a couple of cablecards...
Those of you who have bought your own, have you had any troubles getting the cable company to pair them for you? Do they give you any grief,or do they insist that you have to use their cards?
Any info would be great...
I haven't been able to schedule recordings from the website or mobile app since at least mid November 2013. I've placed two support calls to Tivo and they've confirmed that this has been broken since a website redesign some months ago. They also can't provide an ETA for a fix.
It's surprising to me that this wouldn't be a major issue for Tivo but maybe people don't try to record and find programs from the website. Is anyone else encountering this problem or have any insight to what's going on?
YouTube worked fine for months - now I just get "Please Wait" endlessly. Tried restarting the Tivo box - no go.
I'm going to hide this because the title is spoilery. :)
Season 5 Trailer
Jeff the teacher is brilliant. I'm seriously excited for this!
Greetings fellow Tivo junkies!
I simply (when is Tivo ever simple ..?) want to take my shows with me on vacation.
I've read a lot of threads, most of them involve CC issues when pushing back to the Tivo. Not much on just transfer to the PC and watch w/ CC.
I've tried Tivo Desktop (free version) to upload from my Tivo Premier to my PC, but there aren't any closed captions.
I've tried using kmttg, I've got the program up, transferred and converted a few files, installed VCL player, but still no CC.
I am sure this is simple, I just need step by step instructions. I am fairly computer literate and this has me stumped.
Thanks for any help, it is greatly appreciated :)
Is there a guide for using the remote for use within YouTube? I can't figure out how to return to YouTube's 'menu' screen (where you go to when you first start the app) I have to exit out and go back in. It says use the 'back' key, but that just takes me to previous video in list.
I'm considering buying an unused, unactivated P4 with Lifetime locally. Seller sent me a screenshot of the billing for the unit in July 2013. It shows the Device #, and 3 billing entries, all same date.
1 for the extended warr,
1 for the XL4 unit, and
1 for the Lifetime plan. prices were blacked out.
'Acct status' says Lifetime Plan..
Since he had never activated it there is no menu from the unit itself to show the Lifetime status which most used sellers provide.
Is the Device # on the back of the unit to match up?
Since I have had my Roamio Plus I have been experiencing an issue on CBS where I get a ton of pixelation on everything I record there. I spend 2 weeks with comcast making sure there was no signal issues and just tried using a attenuators to get the SNR down to 35...this helped a little but the issue is still there but cuts my picture quality noticeably. This is driving me insane and Tivo support refuses to help me and passes of blame. I have run new cable lines and spent so much time on this issue so I am asking if anyone has any ideas how I might get this fixed. Tivo has been no help and I can't use this thing any longer if it won't work right....my premiere works fine on the exact same line so I am confused and frustrated and need help.
Too many menus to search for setting up recordings on the Roamio; and items are under the wrong menu, I think:
--Search and Wish List Searches should be with the Manage Recordings menu.
--Downloads and Videos could contain Hulu, Net Flix, etc.
I know I am used to the Series 3 and HD XL, but the above makes much more sense to me.
Would a Western Digital WD1002FBYS be suitable to use in Tivo?
Is watching a show from another Roamio not aloud with the base Roamios? Like you need steaming to do that? I just get the "Can't Watch Now" error.
Also, my old HD units were online for a time while setting up but now I cant get rid them from the My Shows list. With one of the Roamios it gave the option to remove it as it was not found on the network. I removed those but on the other unit it just says they arent on the network with no option to remove them. Cant you edit the list somewhere?
Unrelated but anyone know why the Thread Subscription email notification dont work?
With larger hard drives it would be nice to sort the list of recordings by season pass priority. So my top shows would be at the top of the now playing list.
If this is already posted somewhere and I missed it, please feel free to direct me there.
I'm considering the purchase of a Roamio plus and would immediately like to upgrade it. I could go 3TB but if I can go 4tb I'd prefer that. Weakness has upgrade kits but I'm a DIY sort when it comes to these kinds of things. Does anyone have an "official" word (preferably first-hand experience if possible) on what 4tb hard drives will work in a Roamio plus?
So I got an email from TiVo offering to upgrade to the Roamio, but the only one of the 8 DVRs on my account that is acceptable for the upgrade is the single Premiere that I have. Why not the TiVo HD that never saw a real HD interface? Why the Series 3 that never saw single M-card support and had those lovely bad capacitors? Or any of the Old Series 2's that didn't make the last upgrade offer?
Nope, just the Premiere, the only one that I own that actually gets new features.
Californication is finished
after the upcoming 7th season...
Hi all, I'm considering a pretty drastic change to our household TiVo usage and wanted to get the thoughts & advice of the forum before I pulled the trigger. So here goes... :)
Current setup is a pair of Premiere units connected to Comcast Digital Cable, one in the Media room and one in the Bedroom. Both wired into the home network and using HDMI for A/V. Both have been upgraded to 2TB HDs. Both use Streambaby to stream/pull content from our Media Server (A Mac Mini dedicated to the task). This Mac Mini also uses AirVideoHD to stream content to iOS devices (but NOT from the TiVos themselves, have to rip the content from the TiVo units to the server first in order to do that).
I'm considering the move to a Roamio Pro, primarily to get the built-in iOS streaming so my lady can watch native TiVo content on her iPad from anywhere, and not just content that's been ripped to the server.
To that end, I'm looking at getting a Roamio Pro to live in the Media Center, and a TiVo Mini to live in the bedroom. This has the benefit of a smaller footprint and more importantly, it's silent (a definite consideration in the bedroom). This would give us 450 hours of HD which is only a modest amount less than we have currently between the 2 Premieres, and the only impact I see it really having is that we'd get fewer suggestions (we have a LOT of free space generally since upgrading the units).
I believe this would give us the same basic features we have now of a TiVo in both rooms, but at a reduced monthly expense (I'd get lifetime on the Mini, monthly on the Roamio) since I don't intend to keep the Premieres active. And we'd get the added bonus of being able to stream content directly to our iOS devices.
So that's the general lay of the land. Now for my questions, in no particular order...
1. Does this generally sound right? Anything I missed or special considerations with the above scenario?
2. For those who have a Roamio/Mini combination, how do you like it? Any complaints?
3. Does TiVo still restrict the streaming functionality from working on Jailbroken iOS devices, even for legit paying customers?
4. Can I run HDMI video out of the Mini to the TV, but analog audio into the old receiver I use in the bedroom?
5. Is the Roamio storage capacity upgradeable via any standard external drive or is it restricted to just the WD MyBook that they sell through TiVo?
6. If we take the Premiere units off our plan, can they be used just to watch whatever is stored on them currently, like in a guest or spare bedroom? Or are they useless bricks without monthly service? Any suggestions on what to do with them if they can't be used as simple dumb playback devices?
7. Do I use the current CableCard from one of the Premiere units in the Roamio? Or do I need a new one? Does the Mini need one too?
8. Insert question I didn't think to ask here. :)
Thanks all, this is a pretty significant potential change to our setup so I want to make sure I've done some homework first!
I can't seem to figure out if this was another first season episode, a new second season episode, or just a special, but either way my wife and I watched this last night.
I liked the idea of doing two couples as opposed to one couple. However I just want to say that I was convinced the whole thing had to be staged when the two couples found each other at the waterfall site while both out walking around the woods. Too convenient for a first feature showing two couples. But then the woman who got dengue fever!:eek::eek: Maybe it is staged, but these people are still roughing it and the danger is real.
As to the contestants themselves, the blonde girl needed a reality check. My wife and I loved it when she tried to call out the other three as treating her poorly and this opened the floodgates for the other three to lay into her about her sunbathing.
Other notables were the two different fish traps being compared side by side and how crappy blondie's was compared to the other woman's basket, dude killed an anteater by crawling 50 feet to bash it on the head, and the trees with the thorns growing out of their sides. OUCH!
