My original HDVR2 died and wouldn't boot up and made a clicking sound.
I swapped a power supply from another HDVR2 (that apparently was not on my account that I got off eBay for parts but booted up and had its own matching card) and my machine still wouldn't boot. I swapped the hard drive into the old unit, it booted but gave error #51. So I surmised the motherboard or something other than the power supply in my unit was bad.
I've been told I cannot activate the second HDVR2 with my old hard drive. And that my best bet is to try and repair the motherboard of my original unit and put my hard drive back?
A rep at Tivo told me I was SOL on getting the second unit on my account and that they don't activate HDVR2s except on the original accounts they were on?
Help! What can I do?
I swapped a HD from one Tivo 3 to another, same model # TiVo, same HD #.
the unit boots up, updates my info but it says it detects a hardware change and will not allow programs to be recorded or recordings watched. anyway around this?
I'm looking to replace my PC and would like to pay somebody to help get pytivo up and going again. If you can remote to my PC and get it up and going and I will pay you $50 on paypal. All I need to do is be able to transfer movies from PC to Tivo..
I use a free remote program called teamviewer and you can have all the access you need.
I have a Premiere XL and it looks like I'm going to have to completely replace the internal hard drive. The problem (for me) is that I've never seen the kind of connector the HD is using. What is that? eSATA? SATA-2? This page (http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb...d.php?t=444083
13. WD3200AVVS 320GB SATA-2 hard drive
but I've seen other posts call it an eSATA drive. Which is it? Are they the same thing? And I guess I'll need a USB <-> eSATA cable in order to install the TiVo OS image on to the drive? Has anyone run in to any problems doing this? Or do people first add the drive as a slave on their PC and install the image that way?
I'd like to get a 1 TB replacement drive but I read a few posts which say that the Premiere XL doesn't support such large drives? Is that really the case?
I set my clock back all the way to February 13th as I have had to do for the last few weeks. I even tried to set it back beyond that. Then I tried downloading in java instead of curl. I restarted my computer. My internet connection is obviously fine. It was working less than an hour ago and now, I get this....
Anyone have any ideas?
Since the show takes place in a fictional land and a fictional time, do the accents of the characters matter to you?
Do the accents HAVE to be British or could it work if the characters had various American accents?
I recorded the season premiere of Falling Skies last night and I realized, that I just don't really care about it. But I'll still watch, to see if it's worth watching still. The first two seasons I really looked forward to watching that series.
Are there shows that used to be one of your favorites but now, you are just kind of watch because you always have?
BTW, we might have had this thread before. Sorry about that if it is.
six WD20EADS-00S2B0 HARCHV2AA 2TB Western Digital hard drives - PM me an offer:
I just received a shipment of six WD20EADS-00S2B0 HARCHV2AA 2TB Western Digital hard drives, as replacements for some degraded/defective ones I sent back. They're factory recertified replacements, still sealed.
PM me if you'd like to make me an offer. If you'd like, I could pre-image them for either TiVo HD (model TCD 652160), or 2-tuner Premiere (model TCD 746320), or there's many Do-It-Yourself for free methods you can get the details of which, around the forums. I don't need them, because I already bought EURS AV-GP replacements, when Newegg had them on special.
I know some don't like/trust 4K drives, so I figured these 512-byte sector ones may be of interest to some of you.
OHHHH! Don got busted!
Geez, Sylvia, why couldn't you have just sent a Thank-You note? :p;)
Megan: "I'll talk to [Sally]"
Don: "No!" :D:D
Well, Don seems to have talked Sally out of this for now, we shall see if it rears its ugly head later...
..oh, and the rat blood on Peggy's floor was NASTY!
Only 2 more eps til the season finale! :(
They really short-changed us on Jaime's return. I wanted to see Tywin's reaction!
I was wrong about Tyrion and Sansa going to Winterfell, but it sure looks like Arya is going down the path of being a killer.
And now we know how Edmure spent his wedding night and Blackfish is still alive.
How did Arya get behind the guys that put the direwolf's head on Robb's corpse? that part was a little forced.
I'm sure I'll have more to say ;)
I thought that it was strange, but when I clicked on the advertising link http://www.homedepot.com/p/t/2041952...0#.UbWfXPmsiSo
, I saw the $79.99 price.
The item name says "TiVo 4 Tuner Mini Whole Home Streaming DVR" but the picture, Tivo item number and description below it, are the Tivo Mini. I'm sure that it's a place holder. When the item comes into stock, the price and item name, will be adjusted.
Here's a heads up for TW subscribers on the West coast.
I have been recording this for years on Channel 479 AMCHD on Sundays at 7PM.
It did not record tonight and I had no upcoming episodes. The reason given in the recording history was: Program removed from Channel Guide. A search for Mad Men found it now on Channel 479 AMCPHD at 10PM. Same channel but a different description. I had to delete the old season pass and create a new one.
Yesterday I turned in one of my three Cox Cablecards. I sold the unit and no longer needed it so...a big $2 a month savings.
Anyway, today my Elite started giving me the "Channel not authorized, V58" message, along with a black screen. A reboot fixed the problem, but only for a couple of hours.
I called the 800 number for Cox cablecard activation. I explained to the rep my problem and told him that I had just turned in a CC, the day before. I asked him was it just a coincidence.
He said "I see the problem. The card that you turned in was the number one card of the three". I think that he called it a Lead card. He switched the number three card to number one and it fixed the error instantly.
I have never run into this problem before and I thought that I would pass it on. Honestly, I thought that he just sent a "Hit" to the card, but he said no, he didn't.
There are a lot of online articles about TiVOs being 'dead' in Australia. Are they still supported? I have a TiVO and I'm thinking of buying a second one but don't want to spend the money if they will soon die!
I have a B/G wireless router.
I bought 2 Tivo N adapters and configured one as a Bridge (connected to a port on my port on my wireless modem) the other N adapter is connected to my Tivo. They are connected as per the user guide and working perfectly.
My question is: Since the Bridged N adapter is acting as a wireless router and my PC can see it, can I use that for PC wireless internet connection?
When I try to connect to the Tivo signal on my PC is asks for my security password.
Anyone know how to connect?
Well, THAT was annoying! The recording of the first episode cut out with "So what's this bad boy supposed to do, anyway?" and the second one started with the camera pulling back, apparently after the response.
So...what's that bad boy supposed to do, anyway?
We moved our TiVo Premiere upstairs today from the downstairs location, where all was working well. The Premiere replaced an S3 HDTiVo which was working fine with Netflix and Amazon and YouTube.
The Premiere has been giving me "incompatible video signal" messages when I try to watch, for example, Portlandia or Arrested Development. It's fine with old episodes of Cheers or movies.
The connections comprise coax into the Premiere, HDMI into a Denon receiver, and HDMI out to the Sharp Aquos TV. Occasionally, we get audio (of Arrested Development) and no video. We have assured the quality of the connection between all the HDMI cables, all of which functioned perfectly before the Premiere swap.
