More hours of coverage (TV and online) than ever, as expected. However, I see a substantial amount of live sport mentioned in there as well. Sounds like a number of things will be shown live, on say NBCSN, and also shown "packaged" on NBC that evening.
Are there release notes posted anywhere, with instructions on usage? thanks
Is this the only option for an external hard drive to increase storage space or do other manufacturers external drives also work?
For the Roamio DVR.
I have been a TiVo owner for about a week now, and thoroughly enjoying it. Have one mini now and will eventually get a second one.
Because of wiring, ie ethernet is easier to get to an upstairs TV, I have initially put the Roamio at that location and a mini at our main TV in the family room. Plan to either run ethernet to the family room or use an ethernet/moca bridge.
What I want to know is what types of things am I missing by not using the Roamio directly as the main box? Being a new user, I don't really know what I might be missing, so am looking for reasons to accelerate the reconfig, or if there is no rush. I know the UI is different on the two boxes, as is the remote. I don't seem to be able to flip between the different tuners on the mini. But I'm not sure if I am running up against actual limitations, or my novice user skills.
Thanks for any input
I'm setting up a new network. Here's my intended setup:
imgur. com/sMDR4y7 (sorry, please remove the space)
I am having a heck of a time finding an 8-way, bidirectional, 2 GHz splitter to make this happen. Do I actually need a >1 GHz splitter for the internal moca traffic to work? I wonder if the splitter will pass the higher frequency signals through the output end.
Any news if someone will be showing the original Japanese ones?
Curious, what are the hardware specs of the Roamio (I'm talking like processor and RAM)?
So A&E isn't happy with the family patriarch Phil for his comments in GQ magazine recently. He's been put on "hiatus" from being on the show.
So will DD survive this flap and keep on keeping on or do you think this well be similar to the Paula Dean mess, meaning they lose their show and sponsors etc?
They are a juggernaut right now for A&E/Wal-Mart etc. So I'm thinking they will make it through this PR mess but of course the hater spotlight will be on the whole family for some time to come I'm sure.
Is this man simply expressing his beliefs or spewing bigotry?
Either way, Phil Robertson, the patriarch in A&E's "Duck Dynasty," won't be duck calling on air anytime soon. The network suspended him after he made controversial remarks about gays in a magazine interview.
In the January issue of GQ, Robertson says homosexuality is a sin and puts it in the same category as bestiality and promiscuity.
My Roamio should be here in a day or two. I'm wondering if the is an method to the madness in regard to the order of setting everything up.
I'll have a Roamio plus, cable card, tuning adapter, 3 mini's, moca and a network connection. I have dual coax running to each location I want the Roamio and the 3 mini's.
Coax cabling plan using 3 2050Mhz splitters:
Coax input --> POE filter --> 3 way splitter in attic:
1. --> terminates at Cable Modem
2. --> terminates at 2 way splitter in AV cabinet:
2.1 -----> Roamio
2.2 -----> Tuning adapter
3. --> terminates to 4 way splitter in attic:
3.1 -----> terminates to mini in Study
3.2 -----> terminates to mini in Guest BD
3.3 -----> terminates to mini in Master BD
3.4 -----> unused/capped
I'm assuming that I should first connect the Roamio to cable and network and set up the networking component. Then maybe I install the cable card next and get that authorized. Then maybe I hook up the tuning adapter and verify I get all subscribed channels. Then I turn on moca on Roamio. Lastly I set up each mini and turn moca on for each (after connecting coax).
This is a very broad overview of what I've pieced together from reading through the forums, so any corrections or additional details for any step would be helpful.
i have the tivo premire i guess it is aka series 4 and i know the ttg downloads the box seems to be doing some kind of conversion internally because i did a test where i downloaded a show then did a crc checksum on the file.
then i downloaded that show again and ran another crc and found the 2 are different.
also i know some conversion is happening because i got a couple shows that will not download or abort halfway but yet they play ok all the way through on the box.
if i try to resume the download then the server crashes to where i have to reboot the box.
what i was wondering is since i have no hdmi device connected to the box (dont need it since i can download most shows and i avoid content that is protected) the box is unable to output in full resolution so would that effect the quality/resolution of the downloaded file?
if i connect a display that supports the full 1080p to the tivo box will the internal converter see "ok you have an hdmi device connected here is the full quality/resolution file"?
So I get up early to watch my Top Chef. Then I look for Xfinity on demand to watch the Last chance kitchen. Well, the Xfinity app is not there:eek:. Neither is the netflick or hulu plus apps:rolleyes: So I search for the show, find it, press watch and get the message that the Xfinity app is temporarily unavailable:mad: So before we get any new apps, we have to lose the ones we already have? How long are the apps going to be gone?
I'm using a Roamio Basic with an over-the-air antenna. (no cable card. no tuning adapter)
I've recently started having problems with V53 errors a couple of channels. TiVo won't record on the channels, and when I try to tune to them manually I receive the message:
"Problem with the signal on this channel. Trying again. (V53)"
If I manually change the channel back and forth, and/or reset the TiVo, I can usually get the channels to tune in eventually, and then they work just fine. They are channels that I receive quite well with my OTA antenna, and I just started noticing this problem recently (after the latest 220.127.116.11 update?). It's possible that the issue was there before, but I've only noticed it recently because the TiVo keeps missing recordings on some channels.
All of the other threads that I see referencing this problem seem to indicate that it is most likely related to things like tuning adapters and cable cards, but I do not have either of those items.
If anyone else is seeing this same behavior, or has any suggestions regarding how to resolve it, I would greatly appreciate it. Misery loves company. :-)
Can they destroy Queen's "We Will Rock You" any worse?
Are recordings made with a Roamio compatible with the HD DVR?
Under the My Shows area, there are two folders I would like to go away
Suggested, and some AOL thing
I just want a simple to use list of my shows and nothing I do not need, I previously rid the area of other things, but these two are a mystery
Is there a set of directions??
Reached out to Crackle Support to see if an app is in the works or in existence. This message was left on Crackle's Facebook Support page.
Does Crackle have an HTML5 app available for devices or is it being developed? Tivo and Opera teamed up and installed Opera SDK 4.0 this enabled HTML5 ready to go. Today they launched on premiere and Roamio "Opera TV STore". The members of TiVoCommunity would love to see a Crackle App added.

Are Roamio HD recordings compatible with HD DVR??
I just reinstalled my HD DVR (Series 3) and I can't transfer HD shows from my Tivo DeskTop to my HD DVR because it says that my HD DVR is not HD.
I just signed up for the hulu plus 2 week trial.
Every show I try to watch gives me a dialog box with "We're sorry.... network issue...."
Is is just me? I know my network is working since I can use youtube etc. and it's all over the same IP that I'm using to post this message.
My wife and I wonder why Steve McGarret occasionally wears his white Navy uniform. We assume he is retired from the Navy so why still wear the uniform? Also, his girlfriend never wears her uniform now that she is retired.
