Stephen King is coming back to broadcast TV. CBS is giving the authors Under the Dome a 13-episode series order.
Based on Kings bestselling novel, Under the Dome is the story of a small New England town thats suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome. The towns residents need to survive the deteriorating post-apocalyptic conditions while searching for answers to what this barrier is, where it came from, and how to make it go away.
It will most likely air sometime in the summer of 2013.
I switched to the HDUI for a while, but ended up switching back to SDUI for various reasons.
Now that I'm back in SDUI, I notice a weird new behavior when using the clear button to delete programs.
In the past, you could press the clear button, and delete the selected program, then the cursor would automatically move down to the next program and if you press clear again, it will delete that. This made for a fast way to delete items "in a row".
Now, after returning to SDUI, the behavior has changed. Now, when I press clear, it deletes the selected program, then shifts the cursor down one line. BUT, when the deleted program clears out, the program list shifts "up" one row, while leaving the cursor in the same location. The result is that the cursor is no longer on the next program, but the one below THAT... ie, two rows/programs down from the deleted file. This makes deleting a list of multiple sequential programs VERY annoying.
So, first question - am I the only one seeing this? Second... is there a way to fix this?
I have rebooted the Tivo a few times, and it has not fixed the problem... any other ideas?
I can't seem to get my two Tivo's to see my pyTivo shares.
When I run pyTivo.py I see several "INFO:tyTivo" lines as follow:
Scanning for Tivos...
pyTivo is ready
What it doesn't show is that it found my two Tivos
From time to time it does work and then do I see that it found the Tivos.
Here's my conf file:
port = 9032
ffmpeg = C:\pyTivo\bin\ffmpeg.exe
tivodecode = C:\pyTivo\bin\tivodecode.exe
beacon = 192.168.1.52 192.168.1.53
path = C:\Tivo-Videos
type = video
The two IP's listed for "Beacon" are the IP's of the two Tivos
I've tried leaving "Beacon" empty but that doesn't work either.
The pyTivo service is running so I guess I shouldn't need to run pyTivo.py at all. Right?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Cox Communications has apparently begun switching their HD channels to h.264, MPEG4 from MPG2.
The Tivo HD doesn't like that, although I'm led to believe Tivo could correct the problem with a software update for the Tivo HD.
Only the Premiere can access these channels.
If all cable companies continue what Cox has begun...how long until ALL the Tivo HD's are essentially boat-anchors?
It's not likely that Tivo will address fixing the HD to access MPEG4 channels, nor will they do a free swap to a low-end Premiere.
Is it just COX so far who's doing this, or have folks with Comcast, Time Warner, etc been noticing that your HD channels are disappearing.....
Hi, I have had an HR10-250 from D* for many years, (and I upgraded it to 1.5TB too). I recently was effected by the random rebooting bug that hit all the older DIRECTivos, and when they pushed the patch out, it bricked my unit. It started a reboot loop from gray Welcome to almost there to gray Welcome. I figured now is the time to cut the cord and I ordered a new 2 tuner Premiere from Tivo so I can get OTA signals.
It hasn't arrived yet but it shows in my Tivo Account. I wanted to do lifetime with the PLSR code discount so I ordered with the 14.99 monthly. My account currently shows:
Your current plan:
1 yr commitment Plan rate
Premiere, Monthly - 1 year $14.99
Effective date 11/28/2012
Commitment end date 11/27/2013
I can go in and odere the lifetime upgrade and I can put in a promotion code, but when I type in PLSR and click Apply this Code, the page refreshes and nothing changes. It still shows $499.99.
Is PLSR dead? Just when I decide to buy? Anything else I can do or try?
It's the Huntress!
Not only that, it's the dark, post Crisis Huntress.
Managing to avoid spoilers, I had no idea that they were bringing in Mr. Bertinelli's little girl to this series.
And it was a welcome surprise as I wouldn't have expected her to work so well here.
But she does.
She's the one person that Oliver can be totally emotionally honest with because of similar emotional wounds.
Oliver can't be honest with those who don't know his secret.
And he can't be totally open with Diggle (at least not yet) but he can with a kindred spirit.
But Helena is willing to go farther than Oliver so no doubt this will cause issues.
And this almost took my attention away from the fact that Tommy's father is the head of the Secret Cabal that Oliver's trying to take down.
And he cuts off Tommy?
Is this the start of Tommy's descent to the dark side?
We also had some nice Thea and Mom moments as well so with all of this going on, I didn't really miss the Island flashback this week.
All in all, while the main plot is moving along, the subplots are also percolating nicely.
It does look like Helena will have a multi-episode arc but I do wonder how long she'll stick around.
I did notice that this episode was co-written by Geoff Johns and I assume that "Michael Staton" was a shout out to Huntress co-creator Joe Staton.
I'm at a loss to explain this one; I've never seen anything like it. I downloaded a torrent of a show I missed yesterday and used PyTiVo to push it to my Premiere. When I went to watch it yesterday, it had full episode description and episode title on the TiVo. I've pushed hundreds of shows using PyTiVo and never had anything like this automatic population of metadata happen before. What's the explanation?
Everything on my home network was working perfectly. Two days ago, I upgraded the Fios router from wireless G to wireless N). When I had the older wireless G router, I used a Dlink, with wireless N, too run my wireless network.
Now, I'm only using the wireless N Fios router. Everything works fine with each device in my home, except my two wireless TiVo Series 3's cannot seem to find my hardwired TiVo Premiere XL. I can see the two wireless Series 3's from the hardwired Premiere XL. Is there some setting on my router I should change? I've rebooted all the machines and nothing seems to help. Any suggestions?
I guess I could go back to using the DLink, but this shouldn't be an issue. I'd prefer to use just one router anyway.
Thanks in advance!
Right now I stream from a server PC to my TiVo and/or PS3. (All gigabit wired) I stream HD video M2T files, SD video MPG files, and MP3 files. With the PS3 I use TVersty, which is -OK- but REAL confusing to get around. I wish it had a more user friendly way around. MP3 files to my Series 3 TiVo, works ok...
SO, my question is, would there be an advantage getting a Roku/WD/Sony or any kind of streaming box. In order to find an easier way to get around, meaning easier interface, thumbnails for videos like you see demo's of Roku...
Would I be just waisting money, and better off continuing using the PS3, and the TiVo?
Maybe something different than TVersity? Also looking at "Plexapp"
Well that was fun!
I'm always a fan of snarky Sam. Him practically forcing Cas out of the way so he couldn't take the front seat was hysterical. There's no way Sam rides in the back. First of all just no. Second he's too big for that!
And the Sam backstory is still a puzzle to me. Amelia's dad was kind of a jerk at first but I guess I get it. Then once Amelia said "let us be a mess together" he seemed to attempt to warm up to Sam. I did like his ability to size Sam up within 5 minutes flat. "Question is, what are you running from Sam?" wow just dead on.
The entire looney tunes thing was done rather well. I particularly liked the frying pan to Dean's face and the bang flag when he tried to shoot the gun.
Cas and heaven. Not sure yet what I think of that. I'll have to think on that more. So does he remember going to talk to her or not? She said he would never remember yet when he's there he doesn't seem that confused this time. Or was I seeing that wrong?
Abi won immunity - ugh!:mad:
Penner did him self in for not committing last week. :confused:
I just had occasion to install an HR10-250 that I had in the house for about 6 years. It has some issues, which I need help with.
Upon initial connection it was slow and intermittent to respond to both the remote and the front panel controls. I did a couple of power cycles and this corrected that for a while.
It tested the phone line, and all was good there, yet it would not make a phone call to update itself.
I have tried doing a total reset, and it has been showing " cleaning and deleting everything This will take an hour" for about 8 hours.
Any ideas as to what i need to do? I hate to just do another power down unless that is the correct thing to do .
Thank you all in advance.

I have one Premier attached via a gigabit connection to my Wireless N Router (operating in 150Mbps mode), which is connected wirelessly to another Premiere with a Wireless-N adapter in a room about 20-25 feet away on the same floor through two walls.
Until recently, I would stream everything from my wired (living room) tivo to my wireless one without issue. After the Fall update, it seems like I'll be watching something , and halfway through it will quit. By that point, I'm in Bed and don't want to mess with it, but it takes about 30-60 minutes for the wired Tivo to regain it's connection to the point where I can stream. I can still browse the wired tivo's contents, but anytime I try to play anything, it just stays on a black screen and says it can't due to connectivity issues. I'm assuming I'm only browsing the other tivo's content because it has already been loading into my wireless tivo's cache.
Any ideas? Things were fine until a few weeks ago. Additionally, my network is operating in true N mode with no G devices on it. When I had the G wireless adapter, streaming anything other than cartoons simply didn't work. Once I got the N adapter, everything worked great until I'm guessing the fall update.
edit: should note, I only use static IPs, and when this has occurred, there has been very little other network activity.
i went to try to pull something with pytivo and it says not enough space..i have 84% full. i think a 1/2 hour show would fit? never had this error ever
also when i skim down the mymovies screen on the tivo it goes down 2 screens then says no recordings on the pc
something is amiss
rebooted tivo with no solution
Sorry if this is a duplicate but couldn't find the answer on the forum. I have a cable from Charter and without a box it receives the basic network channels using the tv. I also have an antenna that also receives lesser amount of channels.
I just got a TiVo and it works fine using the antenna. I then tried to use the cable plugged into the antenna plug and rescanned. It said it found channels but none of them seem to work. I tried several times with no luck.
If the cable works on the tv why wouldn't it work on the TiVo box?
I was thinking the cable would be a better choice as there are more channels and in theory should be more stable.
Is there a trick to this or should I forget the cable?
Tivo sending a replacement for my premiere HD. It died but not the hard drive, either power supply or MB. Audio no video. Any way is there a way for me to unload old hard drive into new HD by removing hard drives and using computer or other method. Really would prefer not to lose recordings and settings and start from scratch
We have made a few bug fixes to our 20.2.2 update, and are now making 220.127.116.11 available via the Priority List. (http://tivo.com/priority
Here are some of the issues that have been resolved:
* Customers in Pittsburg were hearing Spanish instead of English on their ABC channel (WTAE). This issue also affected a limited number of other networks and shows and resulted in customers hearing "Audio Description" audio. It should now be resolved for all.
* Channel Logos have been restored in the Guide
* Some customers were hearing sound effects when pressing CHAN UP/DOWN in live TV. These actions should now be silent.
If Comcast gets to market with a whole-home DVR with thin clients before TiVo I think it is time to prepare for rapture...
...hardware for a new multiroom setup based on a central gateway ... that streams video to IP-connected extenders called the XI3...
