I have a Tivo Slide but no TIVO Bluetooth dongle.
Is there a replacement part or a compatible Bluetooth dongle out there.
I tried the one that came with my Mini BT keyboard....no joy.
FYI I can connect the Silde to my laptop using the Mini BT keyboard's bluetooth dongle.
My TIVO QUAD will not hook up to a HDTV with HDMI. It worked for about 4 weeks, and then suddenly there is a problem. I am not sure of the cause. I get no signal from the HDMI port, and if I hook up through Composite ports at the same time I get a message telling me to unhook the HDMI plug.
I have rearranged and put the TIVO QUAD in a room with an older STDTV and hooked it up via component plugs, and put a TIVO PREVIEW in a room the HDTV and hooked that up via HDMI. But I would like to upgrade the STDTV. I would like to avoid sending the TIVO QUAD back to RCN cable company and losing all my recordings. I am thinking there is a setting wrong, but repeated calls to customer support have been unable to produce a guess as to the problem.
Also, can I determilne the manufacturing date of the TIVO QUAD. I am curious how long it has been circulating among cable customers.
I currently have a series 2 Tivo unit (9410) that has been working perfectly for many years.
I received an email offer for an upgrade that includes my keeping my current service plan. I consider this a decent offer since I am paying a yearly amount of $129. Since I only have analog cable, it looks like the only Premier unit I can use would be the Premier 500GB 2 tuner.
Trying to compare the specs the best I can, it looks like my present unit has a 40 hour capacity. The Premier 500GB unit says it has a 75 hour HD capacity. Well I don't have HD, so I am wondering how much analog capacity the Premier unit would have.
Other than a larger capacity, I like the idea of having a disk usage meter - something that I would really like.
Other than the capacity and the disk meter, is there any other compelling reason that I should think of upgrading? The upgraded unit would cost $99 right now with keeping my current service.
Title says it all.
Free weekend this coming Friday thru Monday. I can only speak for D*, but others may be doing it, too. The new season of True Blood starts Sunday (NTII).
I just purchased a replacement DirecTV HR10-250. It has upgraded to the latest software (6.4a) and will get and show info on all local channels. However when I try to watch any of the single digit local channels (I don't have HD service) I can see the channel banner & info but there is a blank screen behind it. I've spent over 3 hours with DirecTV support to no avail. Any ideas? If push comes to shove, could I just swap the old hard drive from my old HR10-250 with the new one? The old system worked fine except for a bad tuner on one side. If so, are there any specifics to making the swap? I appreciate any help.

got new update yesterday. what is the story with the new HD menu scrolling banner? it updates every second! not only is it impossible to navigate it is extremely annoying. How do i get rid of it?
I'm sorry if someone has answered this, but I can't find the thread. In order to improve TiVo's suggestions, I want to tell the TiVo that I like a movie; for example: "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets", but having seen the movie several times I NEVER WANT IT TO RECORD AGAIN. :) How the heck do you accomplish this? I can't create wishlists for everything... Is there an easy solution?
I have a Premiere that is coming up on two years old. When i turned on the TV about three weeks ago I was greeted with the "Almost there" splash screen. It just sat on that until I unplugged it and replugged it in. Ever since then it has done the same thing every single day. I go to bed and all is fine but when I wake up it is back on that screen. I have to unplug and then it loads.
However, last week when I turned it on it said installing update. I went to work and when I returned 12 hours later it was still on the same screen. I unplugged it and plugged back in. It then began to constantly reboot. Tivo is starting screen and then just a few minutes screen and then back to the start screen. I unplugged it and waited 30 minutes.
When I plugged it in it installed the update and started. The next morning it was doing the round and round reboot. It does this every morning now. However, now it take a couple unplug/plugs to get it to go.
I ran the S.M.A.R.T tests and they all passed. I am on Cox cable and have an external drive attached if that matters. What would my next step be?
My cable company (Grande communications) now offers a cable package with Tivo. I already have a premier and an HD. If I take their offer and go for this package, will I be able to "join" them all together on my account so that I can use the MRV features?
So I just got a TiVo premiere4, and after using the HD menus for about a day, I immediately went back to the SD menus. the hd menus are absolutely unusably slow, to the point of being worthless.
Question is, now im thinking of adding a TiVo mini, but it wont let you enable a tuner for it without turning on the HD menus. if you switch back to SD, it seems to re-enable the tuner for normal use.
Is there any way to allow a tuner for a TiVo mini, but keep my permiere4 in SD menus?
I really want to buy a TiVo mini for another room in my house - but I would honestly throw the premiere4 in the garbage before turning the hd menus back on. Hell I would rather gargle broken glass then use the hd menus ever again.
Am I just not able to get the mini, or is there a trick to leave it enabled with sd menus?
I had a strange occurrence last week with my XL4. I just realized that I hadn't seen last weeks episode of Warehouse 13 and it was not in the My Shows list. I looked back in History and there was no message about it not being recorded at 9PM but there was one about 11PM's airing not being recorded because it wasn't new. I selected the unrecorded episode from the History list and it said "Watch now from... 'My Shows'" and a little message in the lower right saying "This episode is in My Shows" but the icon next to it was the "TiVo Suggestions icon"
Sure enough it was in TiVo Suggestions.
My original HDVR2 died and wouldn't boot up and made a clicking sound.
I swapped a power supply from another HDVR2 (that apparently was not on my account that I got off eBay for parts but booted up and had its own matching card) and my machine still wouldn't boot. I swapped the hard drive into the old unit, it booted but gave error #51. So I surmised the motherboard or something other than the power supply in my unit was bad.
I've been told I cannot activate the second HDVR2 with my old hard drive. And that my best bet is to try and repair the motherboard of my original unit and put my hard drive back?
A rep at Tivo told me I was SOL on getting the second unit on my account and that they don't activate HDVR2s except on the original accounts they were on?
Help! What can I do?
I swapped a HD from one Tivo 3 to another, same model # TiVo, same HD #.
the unit boots up, updates my info but it says it detects a hardware change and will not allow programs to be recorded or recordings watched. anyway around this?
I'm looking to replace my PC and would like to pay somebody to help get pytivo up and going again. If you can remote to my PC and get it up and going and I will pay you $50 on paypal. All I need to do is be able to transfer movies from PC to Tivo..
I use a free remote program called teamviewer and you can have all the access you need.
I have a Premiere XL and it looks like I'm going to have to completely replace the internal hard drive. The problem (for me) is that I've never seen the kind of connector the HD is using. What is that? eSATA? SATA-2? This page (http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb...d.php?t=444083
13. WD3200AVVS 320GB SATA-2 hard drive
but I've seen other posts call it an eSATA drive. Which is it? Are they the same thing? And I guess I'll need a USB <-> eSATA cable in order to install the TiVo OS image on to the drive? Has anyone run in to any problems doing this? Or do people first add the drive as a slave on their PC and install the image that way?
I'd like to get a 1 TB replacement drive but I read a few posts which say that the Premiere XL doesn't support such large drives? Is that really the case?
I set my clock back all the way to February 13th as I have had to do for the last few weeks. I even tried to set it back beyond that. Then I tried downloading in java instead of curl. I restarted my computer. My internet connection is obviously fine. It was working less than an hour ago and now, I get this....
Anyone have any ideas?
Since the show takes place in a fictional land and a fictional time, do the accents of the characters matter to you?
Do the accents HAVE to be British or could it work if the characters had various American accents?
