I may be making this up, but if memory serves from years ago, there is a 3 or 4 key sequence which when entered clears the TIVO memory and makes the response time quicker? Am I making this up?
If there is such a sequence, what is it?
I am trying to watch a video on my Tivo HD or Roamio Plus that's in my Now Playing list on my PC.
Each time I select it, and ask to transfer it to either Tivo it starts to transfer. On the HD I see the blue light turn on. Then it says some message like "Video will transfer when the pending transfer is finished." There is no pending transfer that I can see. I've rebooted the Tivo and stopped and restarted the desktop server. Etc.
Any suggestions for what to do?
Was curious if anyone else is getting this tonight? I'm getting this on both of my premiere's this evening.
So I jumped on the deal that Tivo will allow me to transfer my $99 annual service from the Premiere to the Roamio, the only caviat was that I had to order the Roamio directly from Tivo. Due to the holidays, it took a week and a half to arrive.
I called CS yesterday and told them that I received my new Roamio and that I would like to complete the transfer of service. She put me on hold for a while and said that she cannot complete the transfer, she would have to submit it to the "billing department". I asked how long it would take and she said that it should be done by the end of the day.
Obviously the end of the day comes and my Roamio is still a brick. I call back the next day, and they tell me that these transfers usually take 24 hours. 24 hours goes by, Roamio is still a brick.
I chat with them today, and they said that the process can take up to 5 days to transfer. Just awesome...nothing worse for a geek to be staring at his new toy and can't play with it.
My issue is that I already sold the Premiere on eBay and need to ship it out today or tomorrow at the latest. Does anybody here have any way to contact this phantom "billing department" so that I can get my transfer pushed through sooner?

I have tried deleting ALL channels.
I have tried using the guided setup, it didn't remove the channels either.
I know I can "unselect" individual channels but I want to actually DELETE them from the channel list. Nothing works.
My streaming to the iPad app stopped working and I can't even use the app as a remote control.
There is a message on the Tivo Roamio that says "there is a temporary problem with the Tivo service" and that I should try again in a few minutes, but it has been over an hour.
I have rebooted everything including the Roamio, the Tivo stream, the router and the cable modem. Internet access is working, I am using my home network to post this message.
It is all hard wired with cables, not wireless.
When I try calling in, sometimes it is successful and a a minute later I try again and it fails with a message that says "failed while negotiating."
I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Tivo app. When I try to connect there is a message that says "There is a problem connecting to the TiVo service. Please try again later or press "OK:" to retry now.
The streaming setup is in the background and it says "DVR Unable To Stream"
You are not connected to the Internet. Please check your network settings and try again. It has a Settings and Help button, but there is no way to click it because the other Communication Error" message is in front and if I click OK to get by it, it closes everything and tries to reconnect again and just fails.
I know the Internet is working because everything else works and the Network Diagnostic page in the Roamio's settings says "View TCP port test details: Succeeded" and "View DNS test details: Succeeded"
Is there an outage at Tivo today?
What else could be causing this issue?
Is anyone using Control4 with the new Tivo models? I was thinking about getting rid of the Comcast boxes in my house and switching, but I don't know if this will work with Control4. I was going to use Tivo Roamio with 4 mini
Tivos if I can get the system working ok.

I've started having a strange problem w/ my 3 month-old Roamio Basic. Often when watching a recorded program the audio (mostly) and sometimes the video will stutter.
I thought perhaps it was an issue w/ the cable feed but last night I switched over to watching the live version of the program I was recording and did not experience the stuttering. I'm assuming that when watching Live I am seeing a passthru of the incoming signal and not actually playing back the recording disk stream in real time. Is that correct?
This morning I played back a portion of the recorded program that had been stuttering while recording and it was fine.
I'm wondering if the stuttering was perhaps only occurring while I was also recording on another tuner. But I believe all tuners are always recording whatever channel they were last tuned to, so maybe something else is going on. I'm going to try and gather more scenarios but this doesn't happen on every recorded show.
Has anyone experienced a similar problem?
worth watching? I missed recording the first episode and I'm wondering if it's worth downloading that episode to catch up? Or should I not even bother with this show?
I have an active thread in the Help section about this, but after reading some of the suggested threads, I decided to launch another thread here with more specific information.
It seems that my problem (randomly dropped channels/tuning) might be related to the CC firmware version and/or the number of tuners I have active. I have a Roamio Pro and I'm in the Central Texas Time Warner region. I currently have all 6 tuners active and if I've looked at the right area in CC diagnostics, the firmware version on the CC is 1.5.3_F.p.0601.
Should I try to get a firmware upgrade?
Should I reduce tuners to 5 or 4?
I have a Series 3 that I purchased from Weaknees with a total of 750 MB hard drive space. It no longer works - it powers up with all lights on and never completes the boot. It has Lifetime service.
It has been sitting around my office and I have finally decided to get it out of my house to make some room.
I contacted Weaknees and they said they would give me $50 for it which seems a little low, but it would be a no hassle way of getting it out of here.
I have no idea what it might be worth to someone who has experience with fixing broken Tivo's.
Anyone interested in this Tivo? Any advice on how to get it out of my house?
Last night, three shows scheduled to record at 9PM, did not, all three with the message "No Signal". Another show at 9:30 showed the same status, so I looked back through more of the recording history and found what appear to be random shows not being recorded with the "No Signal" error.
I've also noticed that the tuner seems to "go to sleep" after not being used for a while. For example, I'll turn on the TV in the morning and there's nothing there. Toggling the channel up or down "wakes" the tuner and programming appears.
We've been listening to Pandora lately, but not as far back as some of the shows that claim to have not been recorded because of no signal.
Is there a reason that the signal would randomly drop?
Is there an "uptime" monitor where I can see when the signal is up or down?
Should I change a setting such that the tuner never "sleeps?"

So, after getting my roamio pro up and running which replaced an original S3, I decided to stop into bestbuy and pick up a mini (price-matched, without any issue with Amazon for $86).
After dealing with all of the normal(?) hassles of setting this thing up (kept getting V70 error trying to see the Roamio), I finally found the magic combination of reboots and network connections to the mother-ship to make it work. That wasn't the problem.
The whole idea for the Mini was to replace my 2nd S3 (to get rid of two cable cards which Comcast charges an arm and a leg for...). I finally moved the Mini to that room, only to discover that it doesn't have optical digital out. Okay, my fault for not recognizing that earlier. But my (VERY EXPENSIVE) processor was built before HDMI existed, so I'm somewhat stuck. After trying a bunch of things, and realizing that my TV will not spit out optical digital out of the audio it received via HDMI, I decided that I was willing to deal with analog stereo out for a brief period of time while I try to solve that issue. So, I dug out a breakout cable, and hooked it up, and all was working...Or so I thought.
Already disappointed (again, my fault for not realizing that the mini didn't have optical out), I found that every single time we turned on the TV, the Mini would reboot. Well, that sucks. And was bad enough for me to decide to return the mini, and cancel the lifetime service. (I did do some research to find out that this is a problem others have had...but having to spend another $50 or so on an HDMI switch to "solve" the problem doesn't seem like a good solution to me.)
But, then I realized that instead of replacing the S3 box, I could replace the Comcast DVR (YUCK!) in the basement theater. That is using a modern processor that supports HDMI, so no optical issue there. However, the set up downstairs is a bit more complicated because there are multiple zones (the projector in the theater, and the tv in the workout area). What had to work, for this to be a viable solution, was that the Tivo remote could fully control the TV in the workout area, while the Harmony ran the theater.
I got it all set up, and went to the remote codes for the TV. There is only one. Guess what? It doesn't work. *sigh* Another failure. I went to get the Mini's box from my computer desk to pack it up for return. But I did a quick google search for my TV brand and Tivo. Sure enough, other people had complained about the same issue, but one person posted a code that they said worked for theirs. I tried it. It worked.
So, one less returned Tivo Mini, but I'm less than impressed overall. That being said, I now need another Roamio to replace the other S3, and 3 more Minis for my kid's rooms! I love Tivo.
EDIT: But Wait! The story isn't over! I just ordered an HDMI switch for $8.30 from Amazon. That isn't too terrible...but Tivo should still fix this HDMI handshake issue!
Thought this episode was better than some of the more recent eps. It was a good mix of moving stuff forward in the wedding timeline, flashbacks to traditional stories with the gang, and then some surprise and heart at the end.
So now Ted knows about Marshall being a judge and staying in New York. Between that, and meeting the Mother (obviously), it looks like that's going to kill his Chicago plan.
No Marshall this time. Supposedly he's walking to the Inn from where the bus broke down and he's only five miles away. How contrived is that. Like he wouldn't call a taxi or call Ted/Lily and have them find a car to come get him.
Saw Cristin Milioti's name in the credits, so I thought we'd get another scene with the Mother, but then she never showed up. Is she just listed as a regular in the credits for this entire season, even though she's only been in about four episodes?

Tonight the Roamio Plus rebooted by itself while watching live TV and was in the process of recording two shows.
It is on a UPS.
I cannot remember the Premiere doing this in three years of use!
Is this a known issue? Is there a log that will help determine what happened?
This HAS TO be the stupidest post ever = I have the original remote that came with the Series 4 - Premier (I think) remote is dead - I can't for the life of me figure out how the battery cover slides off.
