Not 100% sure about MPEG-4 pt.2 but since the chip can do H.264 it can probably also do MPEG-4 pt.2. So that only leaves ATRAC3 audio, which is not widely used anyway.
Also the containers DLNA requires are PS, TS, MP4 and ASF all of which TiVo supports. (ASF is what WMV uses) So they're covered there as well.
The fact that DLNA is so restricted is actually why TiVo should be able to support it.
Has anybody made any serious attempts with those audio and video formats above? WMV video, ASF, WMA, AC3, and MP2 audio?
I don't even know what some of those things are (like PS, TS)
I'd love to find out WMV and ASF work some way...may have to "trick it" like I did for streaming .TiVo files.

(there is an additional required step mentioned in a reply by wmcbrine)
My usual problem is not having a known good file to test stuff with ;]
Well, well, well...Jaime is the hero of this tale afterall...I'm surprised Brienne was not raped first.
The Arya portion of the story has just become a little absurd.
Excellent nudity this week. Long overdue!
I suspected Orell was in love with Igrit, but I changed my mind when he cut her loose last week. I should have known better. he's just a jerk who loves himself more, that's all.
A is a large door on a garage that can either be opened manually or by a garage door opener. Garage doors are necessarily large to allow passage of automobiles. Small doors may be made in a single part, larger doors used in commercial or industrial garages are usually made in several jointed parts. To save space, garage doors normally raise or roll upward, instead of sliding or swinging. The operating mechanism is spring-loaded or counterbalanced to offset the weight of the door and reduce effort required for opening and closing. Doors are made of wood, metal, or fiberglass, and may be insulated to prevent heat loss.
"Watch ABC" will debut this fall and allow viewers to watch the network from mobile devices and tablets when they are away from home. Watch ABC will basically be a live stream of the network's feed as well as local programming such as news.
There are some catches. The service is only available to people who already have a pay-TV provider. Also, it will initially not be available in every market because ABC needs to reach distribution agreements for Watch ABC with all its local affiliates.
The first two markets to have Watch ABC will be New York and Philadelphia starting May 14, where ABC owns the stations. Then ABC will roll the service out to other markets where it owns local TV stations including KABC-TV Los Angeles.
and a few more bits of info about it from the NY Times
While Apple devices came first, other phones and tablets will be supported in the coming months, Mr. Cheng said. Securing the necessary rights from programming providers was laborious, but ABC will be able to stream all of its stations local newscasts, syndicated talk shows like Katie, and national series like Greys Anatomy.
In the future, ABC will withhold its most recent TV episodes from the free versions of Hulu and ABC.com, further limiting access to paying subscribers of cable and satellite providers only.
So glad Cochran won!
I am thinking of using an inexpensive desktop running Windows 8 to stream media via Streambaby and Pytivo.
I was using an LX195 running WHS 2008. However, most of the features I don't need. I am doing backups manual myself with Second Copy application.
Other than power consumption, are there any drawbacks I may not be aware of?
Please let me know. Thanks.
I have a Humax Tivo that allows recordings from VCR. I use that feature to copy in videos of my kid's sports events. This means I have lots of recordings in the Now Playing like this:
Swim meet 1/21
Swim meet 1/28
Swim meet 2/15
Does anyone know of a way to group those in the listing? I want it to instead be:

I'm currently a Directv subscriber but I find more and more that I'm mostly watching netflix or the OTA channels through the satellite receiver so I'm toying with the idea of dumping directv. I can get my OTA channels from an antenna but the DVR is my hangup. I use DVR a lot. Has anyone else dumped their cable or satellite provider and use Tivo as an OTA DVR? How is that working for you?
It would be nice to have the ability to ADD wishlists for shows and movies that are not in the program guide. Example: I want to record a show coming out in the fall called "Wild Blue". Since I have the app, I would like to add that show to one of my DVR's wishlists, but have to wait until I get home and remember to do it.
Something just didn't feel right about this episode.
Please tell Neil Gaiman that he was supposed to write about the Cybermen, not the Borg.
I think they had a faulty "implosion bomb".
I noticed today that TiVo is no longer offering the Premiere XL on their website. Does anyone know why this DVR is no longer available? It offered twice the hard drive space of the standard Premiere.
I want to take .Tivo files with me to watch at a location that I do not have a Tivo at. I know that Tivodecode will strip the encryption but i cannot get it to work. I'm not criticizing the program.....I'm just not a command line sort of guy. I really need a GUI to work with. ( I have Tivo Desktop Plus).
I would like a no cost program but would be willing to pay for one if i must. I have found a couple of programs on a google search but would prefer a recommendation from someone here because i'm worried about downloading nasties from bad people.
Thank you for your help
Just saw this review on IGN.com
Show stars Chris O'Dowd from IT Crowd and Bridesmaids. Show is made by Christopher Guest who did Spinal Tap, Best in Show, etc...
I will watch it because it is HBO and I loved IT Crowd. I pretty much hate anything Christopher Guest does. So, we will see what I think about it I guess.
Well not unexpectedly, USA has decided that this will be the final season of Brin Notice. I'll miss it, but I have to admit it's not the draw it once was. It's gotten a bit predictable and repetitive.
Hopefully the writers will end it in a satisfactory manner.
Hi all, seems so easy but I just can't figure this out lol! So when I am in any tivo premiere menu, how do I go back to my recorded program? (not live tv button)
I use a harmony remote if that helps...
bonus q... i get a lot of sound dropouts between menus, is this normal? I thought it was my Onkyo AVR at first but i run hdmi and composite simultaneously (to two sources) and it happens on both, eliminating the onkyo as the cause. Seems like there are multiple scenarios causing audio dropouts, i am not hearing things right???!!
