Hello, I received a channel update from TWC last night and of course none of my channels showed up correctly from the tivo. So i did a Guided setup from scratch to get my new lineup. When getting towards the end i keep getting a n15 or n18 error. Im running a tivo HD. Ive searched here and really found nothing that worked, and was wondering if there might be anything i can try. Nothing has changed on TWC end as everything was working fine up untill i tried the guided setup to get my new channel list.
Any help would be appreciated
Please turn this into a sticky thread. I have been planning on doing this for a long time, but finally did it, with the persistent C133 error everyone is seeing that GREATLY reduces our Tivos' functionality.
See the original post and COMMENT THERE. This thread is just intended as a very small summary of each bug so others can find them/write up new bugs... Basically a poor man's bug list.
Cannot use View Upcoming when in C133 error condition:
PLEASE TURN THIS INTO A STICKY THREAD.
My folks live in an Atlantic Broadband area where the T6 tivo (cable co version of Tivo) will be available. Curiously, Netflix won't be on it, initially.
Anyway, couple of Qs...
1) Still has a cable card in it someplace? Presumably, preinstalled (or installed by the installer?)... if there is a cable card internal to it, I would hope they've worked out all the fun cable card bugs
2) SDV... don't know if Atlantic BB uses this... if they don't I would presume they will at some point for bandwidth reasons. So, does the T6 have built in two way communicatons or is it still unidirectional on the cable and using the ethernet or even some sort of moca to communicate back? I could even see them not doing a real two way but instead just incorporating the tuning adapter hw inside the box with an internal usb connection. Whatever the soln, hopefully more reliable than my TWC tuning adapter which locks up every month.
3) On demand... any ideas on how they are making this work?
Called the TiVo help line today because I kept getting "There is a problem with the connection. (N17)" while trying to run Guided Setup. I was told that TiVo had a major server crash and thousands were calling from all over the country. That was at 2 pm PST and evidently it's still down (6 hours later) because I still can't get through Guided Setup. It's a real pain because there's no way out of the setup and my Roamio is essentially frozen. Has anyone else heard anything?
The next time you launch the Youtube player inside of Tivo you will notice a major enhancement. All your playlist have a triangle at the bottom and your subscriptions have mini icons. This will be noticeable once you authenticate your account at Google. More importantly this update provides instant search inside each video being played and it's a more smoother. To help with transitions of NEXT videos google installed a 5 sec visual buffer like it does in HotList aka: Launchpad.
Now we just wait patiently for Netflix to get it's GUI update.:D
I've been having a very strange problem with my Roamio Pro the past several weeks. Whenever I add time to the end of a recording, it doesn't work properly. Instead, it records the program without the added time and then also creates a second manual recording with the proper amount of added time with no program information associated with it.
Is anybody else having this problem?

I may be making this up, but if memory serves from years ago, there is a 3 or 4 key sequence which when entered clears the TIVO memory and makes the response time quicker? Am I making this up?
If there is such a sequence, what is it?
I am trying to watch a video on my Tivo HD or Roamio Plus that's in my Now Playing list on my PC.
Each time I select it, and ask to transfer it to either Tivo it starts to transfer. On the HD I see the blue light turn on. Then it says some message like "Video will transfer when the pending transfer is finished." There is no pending transfer that I can see. I've rebooted the Tivo and stopped and restarted the desktop server. Etc.
Any suggestions for what to do?
Was curious if anyone else is getting this tonight? I'm getting this on both of my premiere's this evening.
So I jumped on the deal that Tivo will allow me to transfer my $99 annual service from the Premiere to the Roamio, the only caviat was that I had to order the Roamio directly from Tivo. Due to the holidays, it took a week and a half to arrive.
I called CS yesterday and told them that I received my new Roamio and that I would like to complete the transfer of service. She put me on hold for a while and said that she cannot complete the transfer, she would have to submit it to the "billing department". I asked how long it would take and she said that it should be done by the end of the day.
Obviously the end of the day comes and my Roamio is still a brick. I call back the next day, and they tell me that these transfers usually take 24 hours. 24 hours goes by, Roamio is still a brick.
I chat with them today, and they said that the process can take up to 5 days to transfer. Just awesome...nothing worse for a geek to be staring at his new toy and can't play with it.
My issue is that I already sold the Premiere on eBay and need to ship it out today or tomorrow at the latest. Does anybody here have any way to contact this phantom "billing department" so that I can get my transfer pushed through sooner?
Thank you all in advance for your help!
I have tried deleting ALL channels.
I have tried using the guided setup, it didn't remove the channels either.
I know I can "unselect" individual channels but I want to actually DELETE them from the channel list. Nothing works.
My streaming to the iPad app stopped working and I can't even use the app as a remote control.
There is a message on the Tivo Roamio that says "there is a temporary problem with the Tivo service" and that I should try again in a few minutes, but it has been over an hour.
I have rebooted everything including the Roamio, the Tivo stream, the router and the cable modem. Internet access is working, I am using my home network to post this message.
It is all hard wired with cables, not wireless.
When I try calling in, sometimes it is successful and a a minute later I try again and it fails with a message that says "failed while negotiating."
I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Tivo app. When I try to connect there is a message that says "There is a problem connecting to the TiVo service. Please try again later or press "OK:" to retry now.
The streaming setup is in the background and it says "DVR Unable To Stream"
You are not connected to the Internet. Please check your network settings and try again. It has a Settings and Help button, but there is no way to click it because the other Communication Error" message is in front and if I click OK to get by it, it closes everything and tries to reconnect again and just fails.
I know the Internet is working because everything else works and the Network Diagnostic page in the Roamio's settings says "View TCP port test details: Succeeded" and "View DNS test details: Succeeded"
Is there an outage at Tivo today?
What else could be causing this issue?
Is anyone using Control4 with the new Tivo models? I was thinking about getting rid of the Comcast boxes in my house and switching, but I don't know if this will work with Control4. I was going to use Tivo Roamio with 4 mini
Tivos if I can get the system working ok.
Please share your thoughts.
I've started having a strange problem w/ my 3 month-old Roamio Basic. Often when watching a recorded program the audio (mostly) and sometimes the video will stutter.
I thought perhaps it was an issue w/ the cable feed but last night I switched over to watching the live version of the program I was recording and did not experience the stuttering. I'm assuming that when watching Live I am seeing a passthru of the incoming signal and not actually playing back the recording disk stream in real time. Is that correct?
This morning I played back a portion of the recorded program that had been stuttering while recording and it was fine.
I'm wondering if the stuttering was perhaps only occurring while I was also recording on another tuner. But I believe all tuners are always recording whatever channel they were last tuned to, so maybe something else is going on. I'm going to try and gather more scenarios but this doesn't happen on every recorded show.
Has anyone experienced a similar problem?
worth watching? I missed recording the first episode and I'm wondering if it's worth downloading that episode to catch up? Or should I not even bother with this show?
I have an active thread in the Help section about this, but after reading some of the suggested threads, I decided to launch another thread here with more specific information.
It seems that my problem (randomly dropped channels/tuning) might be related to the CC firmware version and/or the number of tuners I have active. I have a Roamio Pro and I'm in the Central Texas Time Warner region. I currently have all 6 tuners active and if I've looked at the right area in CC diagnostics, the firmware version on the CC is 1.5.3_F.p.0601.
Should I try to get a firmware upgrade?
Should I reduce tuners to 5 or 4?
I have a Series 3 that I purchased from Weaknees with a total of 750 MB hard drive space. It no longer works - it powers up with all lights on and never completes the boot. It has Lifetime service.
It has been sitting around my office and I have finally decided to get it out of my house to make some room.
I contacted Weaknees and they said they would give me $50 for it which seems a little low, but it would be a no hassle way of getting it out of here.
I have no idea what it might be worth to someone who has experience with fixing broken Tivo's.
Anyone interested in this Tivo? Any advice on how to get it out of my house?
