I have a Tivo HD. I have Verizon Fios. I am looking to get a Roamio to replace the Tivo HD. Can I just swap the card into the new unit or must I call or have Verizon come out to do some setup?
What is I had Cablevision, because I might switch back to them next month when my deal with Verizon runs out and they don't offer me a better deal than Cablevision can.
My machine stopped saving all recorded episodes of a program 'in a group' in the Now Playing List, e.g. Moonshiners (3). Now they are spread out through a muuuuuch loooooonger NPL. Can it be corrected/restored?
Just to let you all know that according to a tech support supervisor this evening, Tivo apparently has NO WAY of processing a warranty replacement for an item that is currently out of stock (to be shipped when it is once again in stock). They may tell you it is processed, but it probably is not.
A couple weeks ago, they were supposed to ship a warranty replacement slide remote (it was in stock at the time) but when I asked about it today (I had called about something else and was just checking... I know they are currently out of stock) they could not find the order..... at all. And worse, they could not even create a new one one because it is still out of stock. Worse still, they don't have a system to create the order later when it is in stock.
So anyone looking for a warranty replacement on an item that is not in stock, beware. They may tell you it will ship later but don't count on it.
iTiVo 1.7.7b3 won't open on my new MacBook Pro w/OS X 10.9. Get msg "TiVo" can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer. Safari downloaded this file on November 9, 2013. I have TiVo Premier XL4.
On the Premiere and older Tivos I could go in and look at shows that Tivo suggests and thumbs up or down them. Can't seem to find that screen on the Roamio. Is it no longer there?
I have a Tivo Premiere TCD746320 (320GB HD) with a lifetime subscription. Can I take the hard drive out of a Tivo Premiere model TCD746500 (500GB HD) and use it in my unit? I am looking at this as an alternative to buying a blank hard drive and going thru the software copy/transfer routine.
I am setting up the Roamio Pro in my living room and I am taking my HDXL and putting it in the bedroom. How should I handle putting the new one in line.. Should I have it running awhile and let it do updates or put the cable card into it and let it update? Also will I be able to access my HDXL programs that are recorded in the bedroom from the Roamio in the living room? Thank you very much in advance..Best regards...Bob...
Just hooked up my Roamio and noticed the picture quality to be way too dark, and somewhat too red tinted
Also, lip sync on HD channels are way off
Using the same cable and HDMI cable, the cable box does not exhibit these issues
Anyone else, or any suggestions?
So, I just hooked up my mini last night via ethernet and have a very dark and very red picture
Additionally, the audio drifts way out of sync (~5secs) after watching for about 10-20 minutes - changing channel corrects it, but then it repeats
Additionally, when changing channels is about 3-5 seconds 'acceptable' for show to start showing?
I so want this to work, but the audio lipsync drifting and color/brightness issues are showstoppers.
My main Roamio (also just hooked up) has same picture issue, and lip sync issue is not as bad, but on HD content especially, it's very noticeable.
I am having difficulty connecting a tivo mini to a tivo roamio with a powerline adapter.
I have tried the following models without success:
TP-LINK TL-PA4010KIT AV500
Actiontec PWR511K01 500 Mbps HomePlug HD
This model worked for awhile but eventually failed because it has a sleep mode that I am unable to disable:
NETGEAR Powerline 500Mbps Adapter - Starter Kit (XAVB5201)
What brands are compatible with tivo mini/roamio?
Has anyone been able to set the tivo stream to port forward in the system information menu? Ive forwarded the ports in my router, but i am not able to enable port forwarding in the Out-of-Home menu. every time i click the check box, the check dissapears. it will not let me select it. anyone else seeing this? thanks.
Great episode! lots of fun and some great lines.
Luke doing the commentary on the game and getting the digs in at #44 was great!
I didn't quite like the whole bit with Marshall, but it turned around so Phil made his sale for the month.
Claire and Jay just cracks me up. Anyone that has worked with family gets this. My sister was a Claire when she worked with our Mom. Oh my yes.
Phil struggling to get in the house was hysterical because it was just a Phil kind of thing to do. Okay the best was him using a recorder to try and get the snake out of his shoe.
"We, we, we, we!!"
"That's the sound Dolphins make!"
So, how will Barry Allen gets "quick on his feet"? The drugs, or the soon opened Star Labs Particle Accelerator? :)
Ra's al Ghul must be the leader of the main "Legion of Doom", so to speak. Almost every villain is tied to him, and is afraid of him.
Detective Lance must be an idiot. He talks to Felicity about "our mutual friend", all the while Oliver is right there investigating a crime.
It's good to see the superhero "lose" for once. Overall, a good episode.
I've noticed more and more ads and they are more and more intrusive. They occur larger than ever on the STOP bar (when pause, fast-forward, etc.), they are appearing now in "My Shows", and other places
It bothers me that I purchased my TIVO box and am paying a monthly subscription fee. I should not be inundated with ads for a service that I a paying for.
Does anyone agree with me?
Will a Tivo Mini continue to work to watch live or prerecorded TV in your home when there is a Tivo C133 outage or local ISP outage or is it fully dependent on having a constant connection to Tivo's servers to work?
This is another Americanized version of a British show, and it feels very much like the British version of The Office, expect more subtle than it would have been if Ricky Gervais had been involved.
PS: I immediately noticed the actress who played Millie Helper on the old Dick Van Dyke Show as one of the patients.
Wondering if anyone has run into this before:
I bought a Roamio and sold my Premiere to recoup some of the dough. When the buyer received it, he reported this problem:
>>The channels are listed under the program guide, but all channels are blank but for the message "Searching for a signal on this channel." I have run the complete setup twice and separate channel scans numerous times. I only have the basic analog cable package but do get 6 HD channels through the Clear QAM broadcast. Those channels are there and look good. My old Tivo HD Series 3 displays all channels properly, plus when I connect the cable directly to the TV, all channels are there, so this is not a problem with the signal not being present from the cable provider.<<
I had only used the Premiere for OTA, so never had occasion to use the cable tuner. Does this sound like the cable tuner is hosed, or could there be some other cause? If his Series 3 works fine with the cable signal, I would think the Premiere would be fine as well.
Any thoughts appreciated!
Given that TVs are becoming more and more Internet devices with apps, will cable TV as it exists today disappear and we'll just have internet Entertainment channels\Apps. And from each network app we will be able to do various different things such as watch live programming, or watch that networks's VOD programming and anything else they offer via the internet to internet devices.
Not suggesting ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, ESPN, TNT, CNN, etc will go away, rather they will become icons\apps we can select and watch, rather than having channel numbers.
I've wondered why the networks or local TV stations don't offer live streaming directly from their websites to phones, tablets, and internet enable TVs. I suppose it has to do with the rights\restrictions they have to distribute programming.
I have been a Tivo customer for over ten years. My original Series 2 Tivo was a great product at the time, but since then every unit I've owned (Series 3 HD, Premiere XL, Premiere XL4, Stream, Mini and now Roamio Pro) has had so many bugs, including the service outage by Tivo’s servers all night yesterday.
You can browse the support forums here at Tivo Community and on Tivo’s own website and see numerous problems users have been experiencing due to poor engineering and software bugs. When is Tivo management going to get its act together and get the engineers and support staff to resolve all of these problems everyone is having in a timely manner? Does the management board even know about these problems? Do you use Tivos the way most users do on a daily basis to know how many problems there are, or is this just another case of a company being run by a board of executives with business degrees and no depth of understanding of the product that they’re selling?
Among the long list of problems I've been experiencing: Padding time to Season Pass recordings creating a 2nd manual recording, numerous problems connecting to Wifi, frequent problems connecting to the Tivo outside my home network, Tivo Desktop for Mac not having been updated in several years, Roxio's Tivo Transfer not working at all with the Roamio Pro, the iOS Tivo App showing the wrong disk percentage, the inability to transfer some older recordings from another Tivo. The list goes on and on. When Tivo’s servers went down last night, there was no way for Tivo owners to know that the errors they were getting were a result of the servers being down. This information should have been made available on Tivo’s website. This shows an incredible lack of communication between Tivo and their customers.
These are issues that have been ongoing for months, and in some cases, years. The Level 1 phone support staff doesn't know how to solve these known issues. Incredibly, many aren’t even aware that these problems are known issues. They make you go through their canned troubleshooting guide over the phone, which is an incredible waste of everyone’s time. The Level 2 support staff seems to know about some of the problems, but the Level 1 staff makes it really difficult for Tivo owners to get through to them. It seems that the only decent support for Tivo owners is on their website forum and here at Tivo Community, but we only have the ability to make each other aware of known problems, not fix them.
This is completely unacceptable for an $1,100 product (Roamio Pro with Lifetime Service). I wish there was a better alternative for a standalone DVR besides the cable companies’ DVRs, which have far fewer features. Currently, I’m only a Tivo customer out of a lack of better options.
Tivo management, please take the necessary steps to recognize the numerous problems Tivo users are having and find a way to get the engineering and support staff to fix them and communicate with customers in a timely and efficient way.
