My Premiere glo remote is having problems, as it doesn't move with the top four commands very well, intermittently fails or moves the wrong way. Like when I'm on the guide and want to move up or down, etc. Is there anyway to fix it, reboot it somehow, etc.? It has new batteries...
I decided to post this here and not on the help forum because I don't think its a TiVo issue, and also because it's never been answered sufficiently there when other's have had similar issues.
On both my Premiere and HD Tivo, specific season passes didn't pick up new seasons.
- The show name did not change (ie. Top Chef: Seattle, Top Chef: Las Vegas)
- There were no conflicts
- The upcoming episodes guide info was dated and numbered to indicate that they were new, not just generically labeled.
Most recently I realized I missed an entire season of My Big Redneck Vacation because Tivo missed it....You are welcome to judge me on my taste.
I thought it might be because I didn't actually have the channel programmed since its the only thing I watch on CMT. This was not the case.
I have to manually add each new show every week. Neither TiVo ever picks it up.
I have the same issue with An Idiot Abroad 3. I just added it because they insist on having the number the season in the title (dumb). Again, it's as if I have no season pass.
TiVo doesn't know there is a new show, or it doesn't see it at all.
I love the new "view window" on my Premier XL4. Nice to still be able to see what you were watching when scrolling through your list of recorded shows. Was a little baffled about how to return to the recorded show I was watching after looking at My Shows, but found an answer.
Hit the "zoom" button to return to a recorded show you were watching after you've been looking at your list of recorded shows in My Shows. Found that tip on this forum and appreciated it greatly - I kept hitting Live TV and was getting dumped to...Live TV. Duh. Couldn't figure it out. Thanks forum members and admins!
Fairly certain my external MyDVR is failing on my Tivo HD. We get freezes and reboots. Often when it tries to reboot (and the MyDVR is connected) it won't reboot - if I disconnect the MyDVR, Tivo seems to boot fine (and offers to reset itself).
I recorded a show off the Disney Channel for my son and would like not to lose that. I have TimeWarner and the copy protection flag is thrown. There's no way to rescue his recording is there by transferring it to another Tivo is there? When I try to access it from the Premiere, there's just a big red x next to it.
I'm wondering if I purchase another drive and clone the external, if that would work (We've downloaded a half dozen shows from Amazon and while I hate to lose those, at least I can redownload them!)
Sorry if this has been covered before. My green searching skills came up empty. I want to transfer shows/recordings from my Tivo HD to my Mac, then using iTunes, download the show to my IOS device for a true on-the-go experience(one that allows watching from the IOS devices HD outside the home network). I have TiVo desktop. I don't have Roxio but see some users with various software add-ons that may make it easier to do this? Is kttmg the answer? Details would be great such as do I need a certain video converter to make the video iTunes compatible?

Fell asleep while watching it finishing the rundown now.
I'm on Comcast and, according to them I'm in an Xfinity zone for Tivo but it doesn't show up on my device. Any ideas what I need to do to get that to appear?
This happened after moving M-Card from TiVo HD to new Premier XL4.
Decided to dedicated TiVo HD to OTA viewing and recording, implemented Guided Setup, attached antenna; Tivo made channel search, started download of program info...and suddenly rebooted. After this the infinite loop started: "Powering Up", " Almost there...", "Powering Up", " Almost there..." and so on.
Waited for four hours, tried to disconnect DVR Expander, no change, same infinite loop.
Is there any way to force full startup? Or some loader got corrupted on hard drive and device is a dead meat?
It really badly needs a full web app. Not just a remote button pusher as others have kindly contributed. The remote interface is incredibly clunky and text entry is a nightmare. A web app that allows full control with a nice GUI would help sell these things.
Geez...where will this end? I'm am NOT a fan of Walking Dead's companion show Talking Dead. Now, AMC is apparently planning a similar effort
for the last eight episodes of Breaking Bad....ugh.
I am selling my trusty Series 3 TiVo box with LIFETIME service included. This is the 250GB model and I am including a 500GB eSata drive expansion unit as well for a total of 750GB storage.
This is a dual-tuner unit with HDMI output. Has two CableCard slots, wireless adapter NOT included, can connect through Ethernet to wired network or you must buy wireless adapter.
This unit has performed FLAWLESSLY but I have recently purchased a Premiere unit so I am letting this go.

i just started having huge cci problems and need to copy my saved progs to my laptop to watch on the road.how does sreaming get around cci issues and does it work.i have twc syracuse and tivo premeire.everything was fine 1/5/13.1/6/13 everything but local news is 0x02.thanx
So I was just trying to set up my Tivo premier. Quick question, once I call into comcast to activate my cable card how long should it take my Tivo to pair with it? (I'm going to guess it's probably almost instantly but currently it's not paired. I know on one of the cable card screens there's some value called "ver" that's currently 0x00. The rep on my second call to them mentioned that means it isn't paired yet.)
New owner of a TiVo Premiere 4 (upgraded from Series 3). Tivo Desktop on my PC sees my TiVo, and allows me to copy shows to my PC. I was able to download back to my TiVo until today, where the PC is no longer listed at the bottom of the My Shows list. Back at my PC, Tivo Desktop still sees my TiVo and successfully uploaded a show as a test.
I noticed that my pictures and music were not listed on the TiVo under "Music & Photo's" section, so I did a restart of the TiVo from the menu. Upon rebooting, I now have my photos and pictures listed and I can safely access. But still my PC is not listed under my shows.
Any suggestions? A reboot by unplugging from back of unit?
Edit: second reboot fixed problem. Never mind. :o
Over the last week, It seems to have started last Monday, the Season# and Episode# are not being displayed for New First-Run programs in the HDUI. Is any one else seeing this.
If I use search and look at Upcoming Episodes very few have any info, except older seasons, in syndication.
OK, just got an XL4 to replace my well used 1TB S3, installed and paired the cable card, installed the tuning adapter, thought everything was OK and let the TWC cablecard guy off the phone. A few hours later I realized that only tuners 1 and 2 are working, not tuners 3 and 4. I didn't see anything obvious searching tivocommunity -- is this a problem anyone else has seen?
And no, I don't have it set to allow 2 of the tuners to be used by other devices, it's set to have all 4 tuners devoted locally.
I can tune SDV (or non-SDV stations) stations on the first 2 tuners, and when I try to tune the exact same stations on the other 2 tuners I get a blank screen and the message telling me that the station isn't available. This is easily visible with a restart, where all 4 tuners will tune the same station...
Anyone else having their other Tivo's showing up twice on the "my shows" list? I've got 3 boxes and for some reason, one of them shows up twice on the list. Everything works ok, it's just annoying.
I have a new Premiere 4 using MOCA and my old HD using wireless. The Premiere sees the HD, but says it cannot display the shows because of a network problem.
Any ideas as to the cause?
An acquaintance of mine is a salesman at a company. The sales team did well last year and the company is sending them on a trip to Mexico as a reward. This guy doesn't have a passport and he thinks the company should pay for it so he can go on this trip.
I'm torn on whether I think the company should pay for it. If the trip was to do actual work, then it's easy, they pay. Also, since they're already paying a couple thousand to get the guy there, what's another $100 or so? In the grand scheme of things for the company the cost of this guy's passport is neglible. And whether they should pay for it or not, not paying for it leads to resentment. In the long run it might be cheaper to pay for it.
On the other hand, this guy's company is giving him a trip to Mexico. It's not part of his compensation package, it's just a nice thing they decided to do. They're putting up thousands to send him, the least he can do is pay for his passport. It's not like it's only good for this trip, he'll be able to use it for 10 years on whatever travel he does. And making a stink about it could lead to him being branded as a troublemaker at work.
What's the precedent for this kind of stuff?
