I came across someone selling a Q4 and Previews. I thought it a little odd cause we're not in a RCN or Grande city. (Comcast instead).
Does anyone know whether these would work on Comcast, or do they required CableCo setup or Tivo activation?
I was thinking of getting the Previews just for viewing recordings off of an active Premiere.
I found it a little suspicious, thinking they might properly belong to a CableCo, but they appear new and don't have any rebranding. If anyone can think of a way to check that, I welcome hearing about that too.
Welp, Tivo finally did it. They produced a box that is fast, responsive and a good balance of features. I was about to ditch my SD and HD, take my Premiere and whittle my channel count down to the bare minimum and see about weaning myself off Tivo and cable entirely. What a difference 48 hours makes! On a whim I decided to try a Roamio and Mini, and what can I say - this is the Tivo setup I always wished for! One box with all the tuners, easy upgrade to 3TB and an extender that doesn't feel like a second class citizen. It only took them 11 years, but finally - the Tivo I always wanted is here.

PS: The netflix app is way better than the Apple TV or PS3 versions - my previous gold standards. The quality is as good if not a bit better, it's more responsive and the Tivo remote kicks the crap out of the wimpy ATV remote - especially when hopping back 15-30 seconds.
I've been troubleshooting a problem with TiVo tech support concerning a brand new Roamio Plus and OOH streaming. I have an iPhone on iOS7 with the latest version of the TiVo app installed. I have a new Roamio Plus updated to the latest software. In-home streaming and downloading works flawlessly, but neither OOH streaming or downloading will work when connected to a stable wifi connection. When I select a show to stream, I get the standard "setting up your streaming session" message, then a vague error message telling me there is a problem with my streaming device. Downloading does not appear to be working either; any attempted OOH download hangs at 0%.
Phone support at TiVo has been next to useless. Any suggestions?

I have read through several posts but can't find anyone that has the same issue I am having.
I have a Tivo Roamio Plus with comcast. I have had it for about 3 months now. I had issues getting it setup and paired in the beginning but everything was fine until about a month ago. Randomly I would get the V58 channel not authorized message on all my channels. I would call comcast, they would send a signal and that normally fixed it. For the past month I've had to do this about 8 times. Today it happened again but this time the refresh signal didn't fix it. Of course we go through all the troubleshooting but nothing works so they want to send a tech out. I don't want to do this because I'm sure there is nothing a tech can do from here that a tech over the phone can't do. I've checked my signal levels and they are all fine and I have a comcast STB HD in the back that is working just fine. Has anyone else ever had this issue? I love my tivo but at this point I'm just about fed up with this (not blaming Tivo).
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

I just got this remote and I absolutely love it, but the one problem I am having is that every button I successfully learn registers multiple presses when I use it from the Tivo remote. For instance, I programmed the Tivo remote's input button to learn my television input button, but every time I press the input button on the Tivo remote, it skips over several inputs even if I just tap the button. The same thing happened when I programmed my receiver's volume buttons to the remote. I used the Linux evtest command to spy on the values being thrown by the Tivo remote. Evtest shows a single Tivo remote button press registers value 0 for the keydown event, a series of value 2's, and finally a value 1 for the keyup event. Has anyone else had this problem and is there any way to resolve it? I guess I could program the remote to learn the entire television via code cycling, but would I then be able to control the volume and mute buttons to only send to my receiver?
I have a season pass for all NFL games, and I have them record an extra hour. When there are 2 consecutive games on the same channel, the 2nd one is scheduled to record if you look before the 1st one ends, but it never records! The first show extends by 1 hour like it's supposed to, but the recording stops and then the next game doesn't record. This only started happening after I switched to the HD menus a few weeks ago. I had always used the SD menus, and it worked fine. I have the 4-tuner, 2 TB premiere elite. Anybody else have this problem?? It seems like a major bug.
After a month with the new Roamio, these are features I'd like:
1) while watching one channel, and searching the guide, it would be nice to hit record for another channel, but using a different tuner so you don't lose what you're watching ( assuming you're not recording it)
2) the ability to have a pre-recorded show stay active the among the tuners, even if it means disabling that tuner. This is better that popping between live TV, and Tivo central all the time.
I have the big Roamio and 1 Mini hooked up with MoCA using Fios, that work fine. Today, I added a 2nd Mini to our guest room since we had some unexpected guests with a kid who I want to watch TV in the guest room. I did the on line activation and it asked me to name the Mini, which I did but did not write down exactly but included the word "guest". Now I have completed the TV hookup and it did the latest software upgrade which seemed to go fine and now it asked me to name the device again on the TV screen and I just picked "guest" from the default menu and now it is saying it cannot find a compatible DVR and when I go to my TiVo account I can see the guest room mini is added but it says "processing check back in 24 hours". Is there anyway to get this working tonight or does it actually take 24 hours to activate an added mini?
I am currently using the dvr expander with my tivo premiere that records two shows at one time. I want to upgrade to a tivo premiere 4 that I purchased thru Ebay. How do I go about saving the files already on the expander? I understand that the files are spread between the expander and the tivo. It is at about 33% status. Is there a step by step for upgrading somewhere?
I currently have an S3 with lifetime, which I paid full price for. I just bought a Roamio, and want to buy lifetime for it. However, I'll soon be selling off the S3, which will remove it from my account.
I want to buy a non-MSD lifetime for my Roamio, and use the PLSR code to get the same $100 off that I get from the MSD. However, it seems like Tivo's system won't allow this. When I try to activate online, there's no non-MSD option. And calling them resulted in the same no-go.
Is there some way to accomplish this? I want a non-MSD on my Roamio so that it saves me issues down the line if/when I buy another TiVo or some Minis and want to get those activated.
On the My Shows screen there is a note to turn Groups on and off with the red "C" key. How do you set up Groups?
I would be interested in getting a roamio pro, i know i could upgrade the hard drive on a plus but i worry about losing my warranty.
I current have time warner in socal and I'm reading that lots of people are having problems with tuning adapters and their cable cards and sometimes recordings are being missed.
I really would like to have more tuners and more hard drive space to work with but I wonder if it's worth it with the problems I'm reading that people are having.
I also like with my current DVR that I can swap tuners, rewind one of the tuners and it stays rewound even when I switch back and forth with the other tuner. I know there are workarounds but a workaround is not the same thing.
I'm leaning towards yes, but I'm wondering if the problems of the tuning adapter and cable cards might cause too many problems.

We need a small time adjustment ability in Tivo. With all of the encrypting/decrypting, digitizing, sending to and from satellites, and other manipulations that video now goes through, by the time my tivo gets the picture to me, it is NOT at the exact hour mark.
What I mean is that when I set my Tivo to record a program at 8 pm, for example, The Tivo WILL start recording at 8pm, but due to delivery delays in getting the signal from the broadcasters, the program content is actually about 5-7 seconds behind. This results in seeing the last 5 seconds of the previous show (not a big issue), BUT also MISSING the last 5 seconds of the show I'm recording (always the last little blurb).
I know about the record extension setting, but that is based on a minute increment, and that also screws up the next recording.
Can't we have a 'broadcast delay' setting, so that we can compensate for the delay?
This would not be very involved, and Tivo could brag about their unit actually recording the entire show! Please?
Hello all, new to the forum so my apologies if I've overlooked the proper thread. Did a search and browsed through the forum and didn't find what I was looking for.
I have suddenlink cable and I've had the Tivo premier in the living room and the mini in the bedroom now for 7-8 months.
All of sudden last night the mini will not change channels or go to live tv. It's stuck on the Hallmark channel. When I try to change the channel it acts normally as if it's going to change but stays on Hallmark and starts over from the point it originally started acting up.
The remote works fine, menus work fine, the guide displays and shows all info like it's supposed to. I've unplugged it several times to no avail. The premier in the living room works just fine and even did the guided set up on it just for good measure and still nothing.
Again my apologies if I've overlooked a thread and thanks for any help in advance.
I have a Roamio Plus connected via coax to Fios Actiontec Router. In home streaming works perfectly. I cannot get out of home streaming to set up on an iPad Air or iPhone 5S.
When connected on my home network, OOH streaming setup completes with no issue, and the streaming state is "ready" in the full system information screen in the app. When I try to set up streaming outside of my home network, I get the attached error. (Interestingly, only the TSN and name show up in the system information screen. Everything else is "unknown.")
I turned off IGMP on my router, as recommended in some other threads, with no success.
Any ideas? My sense is that it is either a hardware issue with the Roamio or another router setting.
This may have been discussed before, but I couldn't find it.
I just bought a Tivo Premier and have gone through the guided setup today. It has downloaded today's schedule and is still working on the next 13 days of programs.
I can watch live TV on all the channels, but I don't want all the channels.
So, I went to Settings & Messages - Settings - Channels - and that's it. When I click on "channels", I get a "Please Wait" message. Then a few seconds later I get the Error 126 message: Your request could not be processed because the DVR was unable to load data. Please try again (which I did 3 times).
Could this be because it's still loading all the programming for the next two weeks and it just can't do both at once? I figured since all my channels are listed and working that I could go into "channels" and filter out what I don't watch. Apparently, not. :mad:

I have 2 tivo premieres xl on verizon fios the last 3 years its worked fine having a wishlist (boston celtics) then put it at #1 on my season pass,it would record every game and when available every game with the celtics announcers. But the last 3 games verizon had dual feeds but my tivo picked the games to record with the visiting teams announcers even though a couple of those games were home games! This all started after the new software update,I called tivo and they couldnt help me! Is there anything i need to change in my wishlist so it records the right broadcast? This a huge thing for me!! a big enough of a deal that i would give up verizon and my tivos and go back to directv!!:mad:
I just got a 6 tuner Roamio and will likely be cancelling DirecTV and taking my old DSR6000 and HDVR2 out of service this month. Is there anything I need to do before I cancel so that I can watch the shows on these boxes after I cancel my DirecTV sub (remove receiver sat inputs, access cards, etc before canceling)?
Since the last update to my Premiere XL I've found that at least some of my Wishlist recordings aren't working. They show no shows upcoming despite there being several (and despite working properly in the past). Modifications to attempt to still get what I want don't work, and if I create a new duplicate Wishlist, it will show upcoming programs when I create it, but then when I go back to it after creation, it will show no upcoming programs. This is baffling.
