Using the TiVO App on Android 4.1 = When I go to the Roamio Guide, it comes up with an error msg that ends with "The Middlemind connection is currently down." I looked on the TiVO site, and there's no mention anywhere of anything "Middlemind." I called tech support, and THEY never heard of it, escalated my question to tier 2, and said they would be in touch (didn't have a clue when). Anyone know what that is?
I would like to put my Roamio Pro into "Standby Mode" when I shut my entertainment system down for the night.
I've tried programming my Harmony 900 several times to do the appropriate selections, but for some reason I always end up at the wrong screen.
I've done some searching and I do not see that there are any shortcuts in the Tivo remote to go directly to standby mode.
Hoping someone else has gone down this path and has been succesful!
In the mean time I'll keep tweaking my "code" and see if I can come up with a sequence that works....
(I'm a recently retired Systems Programmer and this is driving me NUTZ that I can't get it to do exactly what I want! -lol-)
Thanks for any suggestions! :)
Since I've gotten my Roamio Plus I have gotten intermittent networking issue where an error displays on the Tivo central screen giving a C133 error.
I have not had a chance to look into it much until today, but when it happened again I tried to force a connection which failed with N11 and N14 errors.
I called Tivo and they had me try a couple of things, including rebooting the box. Nothing worked but the error did disappear while on the phone.
The man I spoke to said this is actually a known issue that they are working on and issued me a case number.
If anyone else has this problem I encourage you to call as well.
Before it was just plus, I was storing the shows to an external USB Drive. I went into my network settings and created a drive (J:) to point to a specific folder on Windows 7 32bit. This one has 1TB RAID HD. I know that is a lot - and we could probably use this one (but the NSA325 already is seen as a media server).
However, I cannot seem to get that done now - point the folder to the Zyxel NSA325
with two 3G hard drives I think (they were in the process of allowing it to support more). Everything that I do, sharing, permissions, nothing seems to work and I am signed on as an Administrator.
And from what I can tell, once the show is downloaded from the TiVo, the software won't delete it from TiVo (I thought that was one of the perks when you upgrade)? It looks like it might convert it to something playable on iPad / iPhone (does it delete the original)? I have software that does convert the .TIVO to a .WMV (or something similar). I have an old iPad but never use it (mainly Windows here). Android has me testing some of their products but I am not happy with them.
Or maybe a program that will automatically convert the .TIVO files to M
The two TiVos, the computers and NSA325 are all hard wired. The other computer is an old one and I am thinking of putting *NIX on it ..
The TV / Roku / Samsung BluRay upstairs is wireless and we just recently got a new router - it is made by Apple it seems. I know the BluRay player sees the NSA325 and there might be a channel for the Roku to see it
Creating a thread here in the underground forum in case we have to hack a solution for this..
TiVo just announced their new TiVo Slide Pro Remote. One of the features is that if you press a button on a TiVo Roamio Plus or Pro, it will cause the remote to emit a sound so you can find it.
As someone with a Series 3, I still want this functionality if I buy this remote.
I'm way behind on the times here, as I haven't looked into a Roamio at all yet. Does it have its own built-in bluetooth, or does this remote still come with a USB thing to stick in the back?
Assuming that the Roamio is communicating with the remote with the same Bluetooth connection that the remote is using to talk to the TiVo, we should be able to reverse engineer what the code is that's sent to the remote.
Then we could either use a PC (or build an arduino device) to plug the dongle into, pretend to be a Roamio TiVo, accept the remote for pairing, and then send a make-noise command to the remote.
Anyone know anything about this yet? Use this thread as a placeholder for this if not.
I just ordered a new Roamio Pro from ABT and it is scheduled to arrive today. I was initially planning on just dumping my current premier W/O Lifetime and buying Lifetime on the new Roamio (which would be a real stretch for me right now); part of this decision was spurred by the conversation I had on the phone with a TiVo CSR when I was checking deals on where to buy the Roamio. They indicated to me that I couldn't transfer my Month to Month plan if I didn't buy the new TiVo directly from them. Is that correct?
The reason I brought this up is that I saw another post from earlier in the week where someone also purchased a Pro from the same source as I did. They reported that they were being offered transferring their existing plan to the Pro and then even were given an offer to put their old TiVo HD on Lifetime for $99. Is this standard practice? If I were to be offered the same (but for my premier), it would completely change my strategy. I would actually like to keep the Premier if it didn't affect what I'm currently paying every Month. Should I push for these deals when I call in to activate the new service?
Charlie Rose's guest on 11/13 is Claire Danes who talks a lot about Homeland and the motivations of Carrie and Brody and Saul.
She just finished filming the Homeland season ender.
The show is not on the web yet but you may still be able to catch a rerun on VoD.
I'm thinking about upgrading my S3 for a Roamio Plus and was curious to know if anybody in the Phoenix area has done so. Seeing the thread about the Tuner 5/6 not working has been holding me off. So, anybody in Phoenix using Cox have any success stories?
So here is my problem. Knocked the power cable out from my Tivo premiere, plugged it back in then later turned tv on and all channels said "Searching for a signal on this channel (V52)". I rebooted it and same thing, I contacted Verizon Fios and they say exchange cable card, so I get a new one and install it and activate it. Same searching for signal on all channels, call them again thinking it is not activated correctly, they send "hits" to it and check and say its activated. Then they had me take the new card and put it in my other Tivo, so I did. It worked perfectly. So they say card is fine and something wrong with Tivo.
Any suggestions on things to try before I contact Tivo?
Is the green circle that shows when the Roamio Pro is on *supposed* to dim a few minutes after leaving Standby? It gets pretty faint, while the orange, blue, and red ones seem to stay at full brightness.
Just making sure I don't have a problematic LED.
I'm trying to figure out if my premier has been updated so I can unbox another Mini without the tuner problems.
My system is 20.3.1-01-2-750, and everything says it should be 20.3.1a from what I see on the forums.
Am I right that it's not updated? I've manually checked it in about 6 times now with no change to the status.
Basically ZERO apps have worked on this thing for over 6 months, v301's everywhere. I'm hoping this resolves it.
I am assuming it is the hard drive. I started to read the Trouble Shooting but basically during recording a show, there will be no sound and the video is scrambled.
I know it is an old one. We do not use it that much - I think we might even have our Series One somewhere, I think that was back in the day they let you upgrade.
Everytime I think maybe we should get a new one, they come out with something better.
I was looking at the hard drives for the TiVo and was wondering if 500G would be OK for that one?
We have just have had it for so long I don't want to throw it away if it is just a HD issue.
Oh man this was one of my most favorite episodes in a long time. The Game of Thrones plot, the video game console wars, the mall cops, the new Elmo doll, it was great. So will there be a Part 2? They did a cliffhanger "to be continued" episode a few years back and instead they showed a Towelee episode for Part 2. I didn't put "Part 1" in the thread title, because I didn't know if that would be a spoiler since it didn't say "Part 1" in the guide data.
Zatz apparently mentioned it about a week ago, but I guess now it's available?
3 days since the upgrade and my TiVo has given up on suggestions the power saving is off and the suggestions are turned on. I have rebooted a few times cleared the suggestions and re thumbed up various things and still not one suggestion is in the list just the message please try in a few hours any help appreciated
No Thread? I had several LOL moments...
Cam yelling at the ref-"That's the worst call since casting Russell Crowe in Les Mis!" :p
Jay and Jordan Peele fighting over the parking space-"I will sleep here!" and Jay teasing Jordan about his "blouse" -
Haley trying to fool the "Manny" into thinking she was Alex - but blowing it-"I know their Manny and you look nothing like him!" -Ohhh, you're Haley! ;)
Poor Phil-trying to follow the rockstar pharmacist...:o
I'm having terrific problems with v58 errors. I already know that part of it is a Cisco cablecard with 1.5.2.Fp1401 firmware, but it seems more complicated than that. When Comcast unpairs/repairs the card, the Mini instantly is able to tune to any channel(including premium) with no problem. The Roamio take an hour or more to get the same channels and sometime it's displaying a v58 error when the Mini is fine tuned to the same channel. This makes no sense to me since the Mini is using the Roamio's tuner(s).
I've also had the problem a couple of time with the Roamio having a black screen when I turned it on. Tivo Central does not work, no channels work, no guide is present. The only way to get it off the black screen is to change HDMI inputs on my TV and then change it back. I've changed the HDMI cord and it doesn't seem to make a difference. This is usually accompanied by the return of v58 problems even though my shows were taped properly just a few minutes before.
Have I got a bad Roamio??
With the Fall 2013 update to my Premiere, I note that the Wishlist UI is now in HD. Huzzah!
I had to chuckle, when I went to the "Exclusive Roamio Offer" in the top discovery bar though, it displayed in an SD window. Talk about boneheaded, TiVo... LOL!
What other screens are still ridiculously formatted in SD?
Most everything under Settings (ie: Parental Controls, Messages, Account & System Info)
Showcases & Apps
Manage Recordings & Downloads - Find by Time
Manage Recordings & Downloads - Find by Channel
FWIW, I wouldn't mind so much if the screen didn't flash black before switching.
I do also note the HDUI feels a lot faster now than ever before.
