Vubiquity Launches AnyVU Streaming With TiVo
ViewNow Subscription Movies to Be First Package Featured
Vubiquity and TiVo to Demo Integrated Solution at The Cable Show, Booth 2007
SHERMAN OAKS and SAN JOSE, Calif., June 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --*Vubiquity, the largest global provider of multiplatform video services, and TiVo today announced a partnership integrating Vubiquity's AnyVU Streaming service with the TiVo user experience. AnyVU Streaming allows service providers to quickly launch a multiplatform offering with a deep content library. The TiVo user interface foundation will now allow for integration of ViewNow, Vubiquity's subscription movie package, which offers thousands of HD and SD titles in a variety of formats for viewing on any device.
AnyVU Streaming for TiVo is an end-to-end multiplatform video solution that allows any service provider to launch TV Everywhere services quickly. Vubiquity's partnership with TiVo allows each organization to focus on its strengths. TiVo provides a consistent user experience across set-top boxes, PCs, tablets and mobile phones, while Vubiquity manages the distribution and streaming of a deep catalog of movie assets, trailers, metadata and artwork directly to an end-user's connected device. Vubiquity and TiVo will demonstrate the integrated AnyVU streaming service, featuring ViewNow content, next week at the Cable Show, booth #2007.
"TiVo works with numerous service providers to deliver dynamic advanced TV services to all their customers' media devices," said Thomas Elam, TiVo's vice president and general manager, U.S. Service Provider Business. "Vubiquity's ViewNow service brings subscription movies to any device, anywhere, making it a natural addition to our strategy of providing the highest quality TV viewing experience to the subscriber one that seamlessly and easily allows them to access all the content they love, whenever and wherever they want it."
ViewNow, which is currently available to more than 10 million U.S. households, offers thousands of hours of movie content from major and independent studios that can be delivered in MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 as well as in a range of adaptive bitrate (ABR) profiles to allow for delivery to traditional set-top boxes as well as multi-platform devices such as PC and Mac, iOS and Android phones and tablets, and a range of other connected devices. In addition to multiplatform rights, the service includes download rights on a large number of titles.*
"The AnyVU Streaming Service enables seamless access to a rich library of content, accelerates time to market, and leverages Vubiquity's economies of scale," said Doug Sylvester, president of Vubiquity. "The combination of AnyVU Streaming, ViewNow, and TiVo enables service providers to launch a complete end-to-end service to consumer devices quickly with the deep content catalog that consumers want and the robust and intuitive user experience that is TiVo's hallmark."
I have a Tivo HD 160GB model R6521P (I think). I'm getting the S03 and I've tried Kickstart 57 and 58 to no avail. Also the Kickstart 54 found no issues. I have a 1TB WD DVR extender and I have a ton of shows I want to keep.
I'm thinking that it's the hard drive. So, 3 questions:
1. What's the likelihood replacing the drive will fix my issue?
2. If I just clone the HD onto a new 160GB drive, will that keep my shows?
3. Can I clone it to a larger drive, keep my shows and add end up with more HD space in the process?

to the right. Almost immediately this changes to a screen with blue background with light blue box in the middle, inside of which is a non-spinning, light blue dotted circle and the phrase "One Moment..". After a bit of this, I am thrown to "TiVo Central".
While entering the theater to see the new Trek movie I caught a glimpse of a preview at Cinemark for some kind of Survivor-like reality show starting soon where people are dropped off on an island with only water and have to survive while they hunt for a treasure. I didn't catch the name of it, nor what network is showing it. Anyone know what this is and when\where I can see it?
I apologize if I am posting in the wrong forum, but I could use some assistance. I previously owned a TiVo HD w/ lifetime service. However, I sold it about a year ago when my wife and I switched over to AT&T UVerse.
Unfortunately, our new place is in a zone that AT&T does not service (for either TV or internet), so it looks like the cable company is our only option for a TV/internet bundle (we looked at internet from the cable co. + DirecTV, but the cable company bundle was cheaper and locks in your rate for 2 years). With all that being said, I am considering purchasing either a new TiVo with lifetime subscription, or scouring Craigslist and eBay for a used Tivo with lifetime.
I would appreciate your suggestions on the best way to go - new Tivo Premiere, 4 XL4, used Tivo 3, used TiVo Premiere, etc. (I see these selling on eBay for $400 and up).
As I understand it, the 4 tuner TiVo's do not support OTA, so if we should ever decide to cut the cord, we ought to avoid those models?
Thanks all for your thoughts, and if I failed to provide additional information, please let me know.
Hi folks. I'm sure this must be something in my kmttg config settings but I can't figure out what it is. The problem is that I'm only seeing a fraction of the shows saved on my tivo in my kmttg to do list (usually only those recorded over the past few days). For example on the tivo, I've got 20 episodes of Justified saved from 5/11 through last Saturday but on kmttg to do list I can only see the last 5 that recorded on Saturday. All the previous ones don't appear as deleted, they're just not there. So how do I get kmttg to see them so I can transfer them to my PC? Thanks.
I have had 2 new Tivo Premieres over the past two months. Both have given me the same problems. I'd like to know if anyone can tell me what/why these problems are happening.
My first problem is that when I hit the 9 button, the Tivo goes to 9.1. And 7 goes to 7.1. That's want I would expect. However for channels 4, 5 and 26, the Tivo actually goes to the 4, 5 or 26 (black screens), not the digital 4.1, 5.1, 26.1. Channels 4, 5 and 26 are not even in my Channel List. I have to hit the up-channel button to get to the proper channel. When I am in the Channel Strength mode, if I hit 4, 5 or 26, it goes to the digital channel, unlike when I am in the simple TV viewing mode. Why does it not work in the TV viewing mode when it works in the Channel Strength mode????
My other problem is with the ability of the Tivo Premiere to hold the channel. I don't have a problem with channel 7.1 or 9.1. However, when I view or record a show with the Premiere on 4.1, 5.1 or 26.1, it is virtually impossible to watch because the signal is constantly breaking up. However, when I watch these same channels directly on my TV or recordings from my other DVR (DTVPal), I don't have this problem. I don't get the signal breakups.
Tivo techs just sort of shrug their shoulders and can not come up with any ideas or fix. I have tried 3 different antennas. No change.
If I go to the forums index:
and put my username (dgrrr) in the basic search box, I only get the posts I made in 2006 and 2008.
But if I hit Advanced Search and put my username in "search by user name", then I get all the posts including the ones from this year.
Why is this?
Why would Randall shoot himself in the head after all that?
Bet the nukes don't go off - malfunction or some miraculous shutdown.
I have a program in my Tivo Desktop folder on my PC but it does not show when I look on Play List Now playing on BRENTS.
The message is, The now playing on BRENTS PC Hs no recordings. Yet there is one program ready for me to watch on my computer.
Why isnt it listed when I go to my Play List?
Whiel I catch up on Shameless it's been driving me nuts as a Chicagoan where they shoot the show.
I figured it was somewhere around the Stevenson expressway and the Orange or Pink L line. The commercial street looks like Milwaukee Avenue, but it could be a section of South Halsted.
Thee Galagers are SOUTH SIDERS. "I live on the south side." "Some &*** from the north side..." They've given the address as 2912 North Wallace. NORTH? C'Mon!
It's 2119 S. Homan.
It is next to the Orange Line.
The cast comes to Chicago to film the exteriors. The interiors and The Alibi are on the Warner Bros Burbank lot - which means they must come to Chicago and film exteriors for several episodes at once. I don't see any sign that they do generic walk and talks outside.
With shows like Breaking Bad you get the impression that they do the episodes in sequence, where they may have 2 or 3 episodes in stages of writing and planning but they don't do the whole season at once. They seem to say that they have an idea where it's going only for the next 4-5 episodes.
Anyway, the cast does an outstanding job, especially considering how many kids they have in the cast. Even the 3 year old does OK.
Due to circumstances beyond my control, I may be forced to drop Comcast and sign up with UVerse.
We already know that the current HD TiVo boxes don't support UVerse, so that's not the question. And with luck, I may only need to be on UVerse for a short period of time before I can return to the comforting bloop bloop bloop TiVo soundtrack.
So here's the Q that's weighing on my mind: what are the chances that the S5 (or whatever they're calling the pending 4/6-tuner units later this year) would support Uverse **and/or** Comcast?
What are the downsides I'll find with UVerse, other than not being able to use TiVo? Any upsides?
I've got three new Mini's on order for my new place with three new roommates who will be new to TiVo. I'll post at some point how it goes. Hopefully it's smooth. One will have a bedroom TV, and we'll have one in the kitchen plus an upstairs and downstairs common TV.
found my mistake
could not see how to delete post.
I was watching Jeopardy the other night and noticed that Alex Trebek before asking contestant to to pick a question looked down and to his left. Then I noticed this a second time. I figured he was looking for an indication of which contestant should ask the next question, but wasn't aware of an indicator.
After watching a bit more I noticed that on the bottom right (our left) of each players podium there is a little white light that lights to indicate the player who last correctly answered a question and the player who should choose the next one.
Normally it is the person who answered the last question real easy, but when returning from the first break after the player interviews and if no one answers the question correctly it's nice to have an aid.
Has this been obvious to others for a long time?
At least this season they kept the obligatory soul-searching trip to LA episode interesting by including some story lines from what was happening back at the office as well. In previous seasons they would have kept that part where he was imagining/dreaming about people while drowning going almost the full episode.
Was I hearing things or did they have news footage where the reporter was saying that it was the 1972 Democratic National Convention? That threw me off for a while, I was thinking how did they skip ahead 4 years in a few episodes? But if me or Wikipedia aren't mistaken wasn't the Chicago National Convention where they had the riots in 1968? I need to go back and listen to that part.
Forgive my ignorance if this is common sense but can i somehow hook up a tivo premiere to a regular hd cable box without using a tuning adapter and cable card? I cannot get the tuning adapter/cable card combo to work with charter (see my other thread).
This device looks interesting. It's more in the line of how I see the PC of the future. What I find interesting is that as a tablet, it's Android, and as a PC, it's Windows 8. I wonder how Microsoft feels about that? The tablet part has a seperate CPU than the desktop part. So, I wonder how the two interact. Can you get to documents on the tablet via your PC or are they just completely seperate entities that share a device?
