I have to say I am very very disappointed with the TIVO support and advice I was givens his week.
As a result of incorrect initial advice from clearly inexperienced Level 1 support, my TIVO HD is now stuck in a "guided setup" mode which always leads to the S03 error. I also followed subsequent advice from more experienced support people and did everything including the kickstart 57. But by then it was too late.
What really disappoints me (I have been a satisfied TIVO customer for 15 plus years) is that nobody at the company seems to feel any obligation to make any concessions towards fixing the situation. The only thing that makes sense to me now is for me to upgrade to the latest TIVO Roamio and move put this all behinds me (despite the fact that we have lost many hours of HD recordings). And, to my surprise TIVO is not willing to give me any credit or price considerations towards this! All they are willing to do is give me an exchange for an older model TiVo premiere at a price that is higher than I can purchase it on the internet.
Hello, I have the RCN Premier TIVO. Trying to familiarize with finding things. But I can't find that blessed "Suggestions" function so I can delete it! I find the thousands of suggestions but can't stop it at all. Also trying to delete the selections....I find you can delete only ONE at a time... :(
Also, does any of you get a Mute icon moving around over the printed names? I contacted the chat on TIVO and was told it's not a TIVO. I then went to my server, RCN, and they said it's not theirs...whose is it for God's sake??? I'd like to make that annoying thing stay put in one corner, otherwise, to delete it.

I haven't seen this problem, so I thought I would ask. My series3 HD is hardwired to the same Router as my Computer. The Tivo will only see the Computer on occasion, I can't see any rhyme or reason for when it sees it and when it doesn't. My Laptop is wireless and the Tivo sees it all the time. I have rebooted everything one at a time and it seems if I reboot the main router where the cable comes into the house it will see the Tivo at least for a while. It will then disappear and come back on its own.
Last night, I had one of the weirdest problems I've ever seen on a Tivo.
I was browsing the listings, and set recordings for two episodes of the 2013 World Series of Poker. For some reason, I had thought maybe I missed those episodes and/or they were two full hour long episodes of what previously was shown as a 1.5 hour episode(*).
It was 8:00 or 8:01 (the first episode had just barely started).
I realized I had already recorded those episodes... But the previously recorded episodes WERE NO LONGER IN MY Now Playing list. I even have a screenshot of my kmttg session from VERY soon before (within an hour, I think much sooner), that shows those two episodes still there. They were NOT in recently deleted, and trying to actually transfer them with kmttg failed.
The Tivo WASN'T completely full, and there were a bunch of other recordings in recently deleted.
I don't completely discount the infinitesimal possibility of me accidentally deleting them, but it seems very unlikely.
I recorded them last night, and set recordings again tonight (to get the min or so I missed at the beginning).. and they're on On Demand.. so I am in no danger of actually missing them..
But I have never noticed recordings *seemingly* mysteriously being deleted.
(*) I asked in the SP alerts thread, but have since found out that the On Demand listings _do_ show two "hour" (~47 min) episodes even for the 1.5 hour episodes sporadically for the past few weeks.
My Comcast signal is okay, perhaps could be better -- occasionally a glitch here and there. Tech support suggested that some overall sluggish issues could be signal related and improved with 2ghz splitter (granted they probably say that rather than admit Premier 4 is crappy performance - LOL).
Anyhow, I currently have a 4-way 1ghz splitter but was thinking of bumping up to 2ghz to be more Moca-compliant. However, I noticed that the loss on a 2ghz is -9.6db vs. -7.4 with <1ghz.
Which is more important: more ghz or more dbs?
The splitter I was looking at as an example was Monster TGHZ-4RF.
What does Power Pass on one of the outputs mean?
Also, 2nd issue: I have 3 feeds being used in the 4-way, 1 feed currently unused and another feed is not connected at all. I was thinking of maybe adding a 2-way to one leg of the 4-way to add the two unused rooms. If I do this, can I mix 1ghz and 2ghz?
I've been using my Tivo Premiere for about 7 months, hooked up to a 4:3 screen with the Tivo settings set to 16:9 / 720p so I'd be able to use the HD menus and had no issues with the picture until last week when I had to reset my tuning adapter by unplugging it since all channels were out which happens every couple of months for some reason. After powering up the tunning adapter I noticed that the picture is stretched a bit vertically on most channels and now I can not adjust it from FULL-PANEL-ZOOM which I was able to do before. I've tried everything I could possibly think of from calling Tivo and TWC to rebooting the Tivo and repeating guided setup but could not correct it. Any suggestions?
Also what's the deal with the tunning adapter needing to be reset every so often which caused the Tivo not to record my shows many times, by the way I already replaced it with another and it's still the same deal! Thanks.
Picked up a TiVo premiere 4 from a yard sale for 20 bucks this weekend. Can I put a comcast multi streamcable card in the TiVo and will it activate ?? Or did I flush 20 bucks down the drain???
I use the skip forward extensively to bypass commercials.
When a commercial break occurs, I usually press the skip forward button 6 times for 3 minutes and then 1 at a time until show comes back and jump back to the return point.
Every once in a while, when I press the skip forward several times quickly, the Tivo jumps forward by ticks, similar to pressing skip forward while Tivo is fast forwarding.
Does ayone else experience this issue?
I thought it was just my universal remote since I was using learning buttons, but it still happens on my new Roamio with the Tivo remote.
I wish I could disable the jump tick feature since I rarely use it and would like to have other options than the 2 they give in the menu.

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum and honestly a bit overwhelmed by all the options on the Tivo front.
I'm starting to move around ebay because I have identified that I want a lifetime subscription and at least 2 tuners + HD.... for less than $350 if possible.
Does anyone have any suggestions or am I crazy for trying to accomplish this?

hi, I have a Samsung series 2 sir-s4080r receiver. just bought it off ebay. the seller said it had not been use for a couple of year. I can't get it make a call to update the software. it has 6.3e-01-2-381 in it. when testing the phone line it will say dialing failed, phone is busy. I checked the line with a good phone, it has dial tone so the problem is not the phone line. the receiver does not give me the option to force it to make a call like my other Samsung receiver. please help if you can.
Since TiVo pushed the .oM update, my S3 648250 OLED has not completed GC every other day to 3 days, as it did before the push. And this is with the tuning adapter turned off for 4 hours daily.
I started seeing the running out of guide data message on Saturday 12Oct13.
I left the tuning adapter off for 6 hours; GC still did not complete.
Last night I unplugged the tuning adapter at 10pm (PST) and finally GC completed this morning around 6am (PST).
The problem with this aproach is that it could cost you more money for fewer channels. On the other side of the coin, I would love to get rid of all the sports channels and reduce my bill.
I NEVER watch sports and they are the most expensive channels in the line-up.

We just caught up and watch all the episodes from this season yesterday and I'm still having pretty much fun with this show. Neverland is a nice change of venues.
Peter Pan is shaping up to be an interesting character. Who knows what his real motivations right now are, but it appears he's trying to get Henry to want to stay with him. And Rumple ripping off his shadow is bound to have consequences.
I like the twist that Regina and Robin Hood are the two who are meant to find love together. What an odd couple that could turn out to be!
Mulan being lesbian and falling in love with Sleeping Beauty just seemed a bit too much to me though.
My Roamio did a random reboot last week at approximately 9PM at night. I sat down to watch TV...turned it to "live tv" and within a few seconds, it restarted. There were 2 active recordings at the time that got split in half /missed a few minutes (reboot time).
Has anyone else seen this behavior?
Is there any way to find out WHY the box rebooted?
Anyone know what a 2 tuner Premiere XL with lifetime is going for these days? I have an extra one and I'm trying to decide if it's worth selling or if I should give it to a family member.
On my roamio, if I setup a repeat manual recording, when going to the season pass manager and selecting the item, there is no direct way to see the recording time, beginning /end, nor is there a way to change the time(s).
I Suggest that the info panel include the begin and end time, plus a choice to change the parameters of the manual repeat. I Suggest the same display for setting up the repeat manual recording be available to change any of the particulars, including the times, channel, etc.
The only way now, that I can see, to tell the time of the repeat recording is to select upcoming shows wherein it will show a start time, but no end time.
