This is weird, was trying to record Sleepy Hollow on fox. But for some reason the Roamio just goes to the station and does not record it, black screen. I can go to the station manually and it actually shows whats on, but it doesn't build up a buffer and if I press record nothing happens.
But the kicker is that it will record channel 5 fox in standard definition. Does this sound like a Roamio issure, or cable card(which is Cisco). I'm with Cox here in San Diego. I haven't noticed this issue with any other stations on my Roamio, and thoughts whats going on?

As we all know, the second season of NBC's Revolution starts tomorrow night at 8PM. Here's a promo from NBC.com:
For those of you who are interested in what's going to happen this second season, here is a discussion at Comic-Con 2013 from the show's cast and creator.
WARNING: This video contains a lot of spoilers about what happens in the second season, including details of the first episode.
Just kicking this off. Some good talent so far. I like this new Christina. Not the look (although that is good too), but the attitude.
The old HD tivo might be showing its age finally. All my season passes ungrouped themselves and were showing singularly. No biggie, as regrouping was just one or two clicks away.
Just me or did it happen to others?
Apologies if this has been discussed already - my quick search did not turn up anything.
I love that I can stream not only recordings but LIVE TV to my iPad - primarily for keeping up with a couple of sports events (otherwise why not just record one and watch the other right, as discussed in the various PIP threads?). Sports IMHO is the one scenario where this is really nice.
That being said, why does my Roamio Plus need to start a recording in order to stream one tuner? My Mini can grab a tuner and stream WITHOUT a recording, so why would streaming to the iPad require a dummy recording being created? It's slightly frustrating having to delete the unwanted recording when done. (Ok, admittedly this is a nice-to-have-first-world-problem.) Still though, I wonder why the built-in Stream can't just grab a tuner like the Mini can? Does anyone know if Tivo has every said anything about this?
Does TiVo support Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63)?
I get unexpected server access error #0-65535 when trying to view my photos. TiVo does "see" my photos name
Lately some of the videos I upload to my Tivo won't play. I get a message to the effect that the copywrite holder won't allow it (or some such).
These videos easily play on my PC using VLC media player.
So why doesn't Tivo like them?
These seem to generally be .MKV files but other .MKV files play fine.
I'm using PyTivo to transfer the videos from my PC to Tivo.
Has anyone installed the Tivo Desktop (2.8.3) on Windows Server 2008 (not R2)? After adding the Plus License when the Desktop Starts to load there is a Transcoding Error Message. After the Desktop Loads all files show on the Desktop but when you view them from the Tivo you only see the files with the TIVO Extension and not any with the MP4 Extension.
I have a Series 3 with some reboot issues. I am thinking it may be the power supply and some of its caps & may attempt to replace them myself. It has been suggested to just replace them all to be safe.
I thought I remember seeing this somewhere, but can't seem to find it with search. Is there a full list of all the caps that are in the Series 3 (OLED) and what to exactly replace them with? I think the previous post even provided links to Amazon on where to actually get them.
Looking for advice before I give up and ship the Stream back to the mothership.
Had Tivo for about a decade several years ago. I migrated to COMCAST DVR when they came out mainly because the user interface to Tivo was slow and not very user friendly. I have been watching the technology evolve and the prices of COMCAST DVR increase. Two weeks ago I decided to buy a Romeo Tivo.
The Tivo box is working fine. The user interface is a lot more responsive if still quirky. I have a Mini which appears to be functioning ok. It frequently loses the Romeo which is a bit of a pain but I can live with that.
My problem is the Stream refuses to connect to my IOS devices. I have tried several different configurations. Currently the Romeo, the Mini and the Stream are all connected to an Apple Extreme. My two iPads are both connected to the Apple Extreme and functioning normally. The ethernet connection between the Romeo and the Mini is working reasonably well with occasional hickups. But the Stream is not visible to either of the iPads.
I have done all the trouble shooting steps. Rebooted all devices, connected the Romeo to the mothership several times etc. The Stream appears to boot up correctly. The status light changes from orange to flashing light. The ethernet status lights present normally. After a couple of minutes the status light turns to steady white. And neither iPad will see the Stream.
I have deinstalled and reinstalled the Tivo ap multiple times. One of the iPads is IOS 6 and the other is IOS 7. Both connect with the router and the outside world normally. Neither sees the Stream.
The Romeo is set for streaming / sharing and is working fine.
I can manage the Romeo using the Tivo ap on either iPad.
Is there a way to log onto the Stream and see its status?
Thanks in advance for any advice you have to offer before I ship the thing back.

And we're back... Still funny, still on the leading edge of TV humor. I knew they would milk the episode title "And the Soft Opening" for all it's worth, and they didn't disappoint.
Your favorite lines from the opener?
Well, i'm glad that in Beckett's reaction to the proposal she was surprised because "he was so serious", which was my thinking, that it was a weird looking proposal.
i also liked how they talked a bit before she accepted, seemed more realistic to me than typical hollywood. but what didn't make sense was that he'd still be in NY. If it's a temp gig in DC, i could understand that, but i would think he'd have moved down there with her. Unless that's in the plan but they just haven't expressed it.
anyway, overall not a bad episode. the one thing though that i'm not sure i like is the "cliffhanger" at the end. i mean, really. the main character of the show is not going to die. we all know this. so it's just a matter of a "how" they'll get him out of it. Which is something that kind of takes away from the cliffhanger. There's no real threat to the character, we KNOW he's not going to die, so why bother? a cliffhanger should have the threat of something that could realistically happen.
Similarly, the Beckett standing on a bomb episode - you know she wasn't going to die, so it kind of took away from the drama. it allowed them to advance their relationship by his actions, but still, you knew there was no threat to her actually dying. Now if Ryan or Espo were on that bomb, you never know, the writers may be brave enough to kill them off, they killed the old Captain, so THAT would have had some tension.... anyway...
Anyone else watch this?
I was in because of Alison Janney, because usually she's awesome. But I think Chuck Lorre is taking a hint from the Two Broke Girls formula of seeing just how over the top he can be in 23 minutes.
Gotta start a thread so people can come in and say how much they don't like the show anymore... :p
There was some excellent stuff in these two episodes, and then some other stuff that just didn't work. First the good.
The Mother! And not only was she present, she was great. The Lily/Mother scenes were by far the best part of the first half hour. It was amazing how immediately likable she was, and fit right in. Then the scene at the end of episode 2 starts to give us Ted/Mother together, so we understand why they go well together and why we've been hearing this story for 9 years. Really out of the park on those scenes.
I liked some of the Marshall stuff, but it was pretty broad humor.
The Barney 'curse' flashback was pretty lame.
Barney/Robin, eh. I'm just not sure that works, but it's what we've got.
Did I mention I like the Mother?
Last night two more season pass recordings did not record due to no signal. I get signals on tuner 1, 2 and 3 but 4 I get a V53 error. Any help? tivo box out and getting ready to just give up. I have Verizon Fios.
I am not sure if I am missing something or not.
I have a Series 3 (two of them actually) and I am able to stream Netflix through them, BUT.......it doesn't save my spot.
If I am watching a series on TV, and I have just watched (say) Season 3, episode 4......it doesn't tell me that I am not at Season 3, episode 5. I have to scroll through the entire series to get to that episode.
It makes me nuts. I often have many days or even a week or so between watching, so if I can't remember what I watched last, I have to go online on the computer and go to Netflix.com and see where I left off before I can queue up to what episode I wish to watch.
Am I missing something? Is there a way to get it working the way I want?
I have two HD Series 3 Tivos now with lifetime.
We have a 3rd TV off the kitchen that my youngest child likes watching. It is an HD TV, hooked up to an antenna and does have a Roku box for Netflix and such.
Anyway, my son loves the Tivos we have on our other TVs and would like one on that TV.
I really don't want to invest another several hundred in an HD Tivo, and a woman on our local moms' group is selling a Series 2 with lifetime.
Is this even worth it? Would it work for the TV (I know I won't get HD through it, but will it even work???) It would be hooked up to an antenna, we do not have cable. Would it need a converter box too?
IF it works, how much is a reasonable price for it?
