I had started a Clear & Delete Everything on my TiVo Series 2 when the power went out to my house. When it came back on the TiVo would not start, and flashes the red record light.
I assume I need to reload the system image. I have another TiVo Series 2 with a different size HDD. Can I make a backup of that system image and restore it to the damaged TiVo? Any other suggestions on where to get the system image and do this myself? Thanks.
I guess the title says it all. I have had Tivo's since D* took them on. Never, repeat, never had any problems with them. I waited, and waited, to get the HD Tivo and last year I finally got it.
What a disappointment. I have had all the problems mentioned in this forum at one time or another. I am sick of it.
So...what to do? I am wondering about the HR44 if I could get it. Now I have one and only one tv in my house, and no plans to change that. Would the HR44 be overkill? What other unit should I try to get if that is the case?
And lastly I do have the lifetime DVR service so what extra fees for the HR44would I incur if that unit would be practical?
Thanks for any suggestions...
But my TiVo is connecting ok. Anyone else?
I should by now at least have through July 4 7:30 pm
You got to see this. No live padding in Europe. The DVRs know when shows actually start and actually end.
Why Do Americans Have the Worst DVRs?
Our digital recorders cut off the last minutes of sporting events and our favorite shows. That doesnt happen in Europe.
No clipping either because broadcasters don't follow the scheduled times and try to make programs run together - starting them 30 seconds early or ending them 40 seconds late.
Key Points: European countries have an embedded signal saying what program is on. Tivo's can use that signal to start and end recordings on time. US networks don't want us to have this for some reason.
I've had Streambaby working for several weeks on new computer until this evening.
It starts up as a service and is running. However, it sees the folder, sees the MP4 files fine.
Then when I attempt to play the file I get "please wait" until a V01 error (service unavailable) appears after several minutes.
I do have port 7290 open as TCP. This has worked fine for weeks until now.
Is the issue related to Pytivo push of videos? I am wondering if there could be a conflict between the 2 apps somehow?
Please help. Thanks.
Accurate/intuitive recording is
Rather than forcing TV watchers to pad their recordings manually, broadcasters could send a signal to cable and satellite providers when a program begins and another when it ends. Your DVR would grab these signals, ensuring that it starts each recording when it should start and ends it when should endnot at some (often-wrong) scheduled time, but at the real time.
(according to an article at Slate
). The link was posted by a friend on Facebook. I think the author is correct - people would demand it if people knew that it existed or was an actual possibility. Now that I know that it exists, I'd love to have this available.
Ok so we might be geting rid of our current cable provider and going to dish since we can save $80 - $90 a month for the same bundle we currently have with our cable provider. Well, here's my concern... while yes I can get their 6 tuner hopper, I would prefer not to if I can use my Elite. Even though I admit the extra two tuners could come in handy since I do have the occasional conflict, but still, I'd like to continue to use my Elite if I can with Dish.
I have an old single-tuner TiVo at my Dad's house that just records a couple of shows. He doesn't have internet and just dropped his landline phone. I don't mind setting manual records on it, but how do you keep the TiVo clock set?
The TiVo Stream is sitting on a table in the living room and nearly every time we try to use it to watch something (elsewhere in the house) on an iPad or iPhone, it gives the message that the Stream overheated.
So we have to go into the iPad app and restart the Stream before any viewing can begin. Then, usually a few minutes (sometimes a half hour) into the program text appears superimposed on the video saying "Finished" and the picture freezes.
When this happens the room is not even hot enough to turn on the A/C.
Is this a design flaw that we are just the last to learn about?
Frustrated in Boston...
What is the going recommendation for upgrading and supersizing the internal drive?
I'm seeing winmfs, MFS linux boot disc and jmfs. I've done the linux procedure on older TIVOs but the winmfs is appealing so that i can have a backup for the future. Any opinions? Do they all still work on the new 4 tuner box?
I have a need for a wireless xmt/rcv audio video set that can work up to 100 feet through walls. Please don't ask why I need it or suggest other options. I've already eliminated them. I don't want to spend a fortune and I don't want interference with my wireless internet or my neighbor's wireless internet. The options I've seen so far are at 1.2 Ghz, 2.4Ghz, 2.5Ghz, and 5.8Ghz. The best I can tell, to go through walls at that distance I probably need at least 1 watt. Any real life experiences in this area would be greatly appreciated.
I have a Premiere XL and it was struck by lightning (I believe) last week. I was getting absolutely nothing out of it when I plugged it in, no lights, etc. So I thought I would try replacing the power supply. Now the only activity I get is the hard drive spins and the Ethernet jack lights light up.
I looked all over for a fuse but can't find one. Has anyone had a similar experience? I called Tivo and all they offer is to replace it for $ 150.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Thinking about mounting the Mini to wall behind my wall hung TV as an option.
Have some questions:
1) Has any1 bought the TiVo Mini Mount & IR Adapter kit to do this?
2) Where would the IR eye go from the kit?
3) Is it doable to put the Mini in a distant closet & use an IR or RF repeater to control it remotely?
4) Other options?
No device hanging below the TV.
Refrain from cut outs in the wall to "hide" them.
Slim profile TV & Mount makes positioning the Mini very limited.
Appreciate any feedback.
I've got a Premiere XL that has been upgraded to a 1.5TB hard drive for a total of 238HD hours. Western Digital green drive, set intellipark to 300 seconds. Has everything that came in the box, except the box itself and cables but I will throw in a new HDMI cable (does include power cable). Glo remote included.
Price is $215 plus $15 shipping. Great condition and perfect working order.
I have an HD Tivo
Sunday night, I noticed programs that I was expecting to record didn't, so I went to the To Do List, and noticed it was fairly empty.
I went in to my season passes to reorder them in order to get the To Do List to re-populate, and noticed they were all out of order. Some of my top passes were at the bottom of the list, and vice versa.
I've rebooted, and tried re-ordering the season passes multiple times, but they keep changing order.
The top 9 or 10 seem to stick, but everything else jumps all over the place.
I do use the online season pass manager and the iphone ap, but no method seems to make them stick.
Any thoughts on what is causing this? This is really frustrating, and it is a pain to keep reordering them!:(
$275 + shipping. It includes power cord and remote. Thought I'd post here before going ebay route. I'm a FiOS subscriber and needed to upgrade to a Premiere.
I have a Series 2 Toshiba RS-TX60 (v9.3.2). Is there a way to EDIT the names of "manual recordings"? (By "name" I mean the items that appear under the "Now Playing" list.)
I know you can specify the name of a recording made from a VCR or camera, when you create it. But when I use the "manual recording" feature (or the red record button on the remote), my Tivo automatically assigns a program name (from the tv schedule).
(I hope to enable Video On Demand soon, but for now, if I want to record something "On Demand", I have to start the "On Demand" content on my comcast cable box, and then start a manual recording on the Tivo. But Tivo assigns it the name of whatever show is whatever channel I was on BEFORE I went to the On Demand menu.)
(I tried recording thru the "Record from VCR or Camera" menu, but for some reason I'm not getting audio.)
TWC has a new channel line up in my area. Some of the new channel numbers are some of the channels I unchecked as I didn't check those channels again.
If I re-run the guided setup will it "recheck" the channels I know get or do I have to go to the channel map and manually recheck the channels?
