I have a Tivo Mini connected to a Premiere 4 using MoCA and Time Warner Cable with a tuning adapter. All channels work fine on the Premiere. However, some channels that work on the Premiere do not work on the Mini. The Mini will display a black screen with a V52 error.
I've tried rebooting all of the devices, reconnecting the cables and replacing the tuning adapter. CableCard diagnostics all pass and I had Time Warner reactivate the equipment. I forced the Premiere to use the 4th tuner on a channel that does not work on the Mini, and the Premiere recorded the channel correctly.
Anyone have any ideas? I've had a ticket open with Tivo level 3 tech support for weeks.
I just picked up a couple of MoCA adapters to replace my wireless (G) and I have to say I'm not impressed. It seems like there isn't much benefit unless the signal was really spotty to begin with. I did a transfer test with wireless vs moca and got these numbers:
Wireless : outgoing (pull from HD to Premier) = 15.17
MoCA : outgoing (pull from HD to Premier) = 11.91
Please tell me I didn't just drop $100 on a bunch of MoCa gear to get worse performance. I have the Actiontech adapter from tivo.com at the router and I bought a channel-master 4-port bridge+hub for the TiVoHD side (obviously using the Premiere's built-in bridge).
has anyone seen this four-part Velocity Channel special? I'm catching up on my Tivo backlog, and it's quite a good look into the world of GT Racing, financing, finding a team....and you can tell Dempsey would much rather be racing than acting
As the title says - Lifetime Premiere 2 Tuner + Slide Remote + Wireless G adapter all in a Roamio Plus box :).
eBay item number: 181246926660 (I wasn't able to post a link).
If you have any questions ask away on this thread!
I just ordered a Tivo Roamio plus and I was wanting to sell my premier xl I've had for 2 years it has 2 tuners and most importantly it has the lifetime service with it I have a remote for it and a Tivo stream I'd like to sell with it that I got a year ago and a wireless g USB network adapter that I've had for a while and I was wondering where is the best place to try to sell it and how much you think I should ask for it?
We are considering dumping the cable DVR and going to Tivo with a mini for the bedroom.
We have a couple of questions for you Tivo owners.
We are looking at either a Roamio Plus or Pro.
My question is on the tivo service. Do you recommend buying the lifetime service or the monthly? If you do purchase one year of service and then later decide to switch to lifetime do you get any kind of credit or discount? Also I believe the mini requires a service contract? Same question on that?
This will be our 1st experience with tivo so any thoughts or suggestion would be appreciated.
TIVO is absolutely the work of Satan.
I have had a premiere for about a year and it always has a bunch of recordings lined up for me to watch.
I have finally started to handle my video recordings the way I have treated books and NETFLIX for many years. If it doesn't grab me as REALLY good in the first minute or two, I delete it. Amazing how much time this has freed up.
You won't live long enough to go through all of the great books, great movies, and good TV so don't waste your time on the mediocre.
I feel liberated !
I don't know why this post would interest you. But, think about it.
OK this has happened 3 times in the last couple days so I assume it's a bug with a recent revision?
While watching a program from my NOW PLAYING list and also displaying the guide, my Tivo HD has kicked me out of what I was playing and returned me to live TV(with the guide screen still up). When I dismiss the guide and go back into my NOW PLAYING list and bring up the program I was watching it starts from the beginning(no option to RESUME play). All I can think of is Tivo had some kind of version download and it has a bug....kind of a bummer as I frequently bring up the guide while playing a program and now I have to go back into it and scan to get to the point I was before getting kicked out.
Anyone else have this problem?
Last year I set up a new Netgear router with my S2. It had the "Tivo enabled storage" feature discussed here:
I had offloaded a bunch of tivo shows from the S2 to Tivo Desktop and then I copied them from the PC's "Tivo Recordings" folder to a Tivo folder on the network drive.
On the DVR in Now Playing there is a new bullet item for "Videos on ReadyDNLA WNDR3800. I could navigate to the Tivo folder and see all my .Tivo shows. When I hit play, I believe it started a transfer or maybe a stream, but all was well with that. It was a good way to archive some recordings and access them easily.
Now fast forward to today. I moved and no longer have the S2. I now have a Premiere-4 and a mini and Moca network too. I hooked up the same network drive to the router and the same menu item and the same Tivo folders are accessible. So far so good. Problem is that new .Tivo files that I have put in that folder from my PC are not visible. (Earlier I had to offload some MyShows to DeskTop because my new Premier was busted and needed to be replaced. When I got the new Premier setup I wanted to watch them via the network drive and I couldn't see them. )
It's almost as if a Refresh needs to occur on something or other. On my PC I cleaned up some old folders on that drive. Via the DVR, I can still see the old folders in the ReadyShare drive.
Scratching my head here... how to refresh the view. disconnecting and reconnecting the USB drive does not have an effect.
I'm sure there is a simple solution but can't think of it...
Love my TiVo but last night it developed a flickering picture (watching per-recordered or live-to-air). This could be stopped for a minute or so by hitting the pause button.
I am about to unplug all cables and replug to see if that helps ... but if not, can we get it serviced anywhere now that they are no longer sold here?
New Roamio Plus (stock, no upgrades) - a month or so old with the latest updates applied.
The Roamio has locked up twice in two weeks or maybe a touch over two weeks. In each case, the device became unresponsive to the remote, though the Orange light flashed when the remote was pressed. It simply kept playing whatever was showing, recorded or live in the two lock up instances.
We have a Mini, it was not is use when either of these lockups happened.
The first time, I had to pull the power cord, the second time I was able to wait for a response (like three minutes?) and then I was able to restart it via the menu.
Has the feeling of a buffer being filled, or all RAM consumed, and then perhaps a timer to flush the buffer? Heck if I know.
I cannot replicate it, but after two times I am feeling this is systemic and will need some log files to be shared so a bug can be filed.
Anyone else experience these lockups?
Noobe here.. Ready to take the plunge and replace my Ethernet networked Tivo HD and two Series 2's with a Roamio and Mini's. Big Question, I have a Standard Definition TV on the one of the Series 2's. Has anyone attempted this.. I know the series 1 won't even try to transfer an HD recording from the HD tivo. But with the Mini if it streams an HD from the Roamio what will the SD TV do with it ?? Messed up aspect ratio, or just garbage ??
How many TIVO users are affected by loss of service starting about 10/23/2013? Reps said the issue is being looked into, but can offer no time for return of service. I've had to restart the units when upgrades were made before, but never a total loss of service like this. Anybody have a better explanation as to the problem?
Another great episode. Yes, you have to suspend disbelief, but overall this is my favorite new series of the season.
James Spader is just absolutely awesome in this.
My question, though... are we supposed to know the people who are watching Elizabeth's house?
And, any speculation on her husband's story?
Marcia Wallace, the star of "The Bob Newhart Show" and "The Simpsons," died Friday, according to a several media reports. She was 70 and had reportedly been in ill health, although the cause of her condition was not specified.
She is the same age that Suzanne Pleshette died.
The show is back, but on Friday night, is that a bad sign?
I enjoyed the ep. Loved that they introduced Samantha.
After searching here and shining a flashlight all over my new Tivo Mini, I'm looking for help on the following:
Does anyone know where the built-in IR receiver is located on the Tivo Mini?
I have an existing IR blaster that I use with my URC remote control. I've been able to run my Tivos for years by sticking this blaster over the location of the IR receivers.
...but, I'm not finding the location of the IR receiver on the Mini through trial and error.
Years ago (~10 yrs), I had a bunch of Audible Credits. I had listened to a couple Enders Games books and thought I'd like to continue in the series. So, I grabbed a bunch and tucked them away. I noticed today I still have them in my Audible Library.
Maybe I'll start in once more.
I recall there is a loose sequence to the story and probable a couple storyline/character forks - but have no clue now what that might be any more.
Any sequence suggestions from the list of books in my library? Am I missing any?
Children of the Mind
Shadow of the Hegemon
Speaker for the Dead
I have a THD that is stuck in rebooting loop. Replaced all the caps, which helped for a couple months. Replaced drive, restored with MFSLive, no change. Tried original drive, no change. If it tries to phone home or go to program guide, instant reboot. There must be something other than PS and HDD broken.
Rather than keep messing around with this, I'm planning to get into a Roamio. What options do I have to access the recordings? If I could transfer them to a eSATA drive, that might work. I think this is a function is in MFSLIVE?
Tips are appreciated.
