I have a TiVo HD with Lifetime with suspected power supply issues. It looks like you've got to have 15 posts to post to the Seller forum. Is it legitimate to post it here if I don't have 15? I've read this forum for years and always found my questions already answered so haven't had to post...
1. Is there a Windows 7/8 based Tivo app like the one for iPad? Love the Tivo iPad app for controlling and managing 3 Tivo Premieres for setting up recording, rearranging Season Pass priority, deleting shows, etc. All this can be done faster from one location within my house without going to each Tivo box.
2. The online web based Tivo manager is very limited and terrible for Tivo management, needs some serious work.
3. Kmttg and Tivo Desktop Plus do not work on a Surface Pro running windows 8.1. Would also be nice to see an update to the Tivo Desktop Pro.
This has been happening a lot to me the past week.
I'll be watching a recorded program or live TV and want to go to my recordings list,so I'll press the button on my remote to go "my recordings."
The screen goes blank for a second, and then the "live tv" preview window portion of the Tivo appears (in the top right corner" with audio), but the rest of the screen is black/blank.
I can press "guide" and get the guide to come up, then go to my recordings again and it works as expected.
Anyone else experiencing this.? I'm using a Tivo Premiere XL.
When using the Tivo app on my iPad, I will be shown that the program I want to record exists, but there are no recording times or dates or channels offered. All I can do is make a wishlist entry.
But if I go to the Guide, and locate the channel and time for the program (listed in my daily newspaper) .... there it is! Now I can record it. It's annoying, especially since I never remember which cable channel number corresponds to which program, National Geographic, HBO, etc. I have to first go look that up on my paper cable list, then use that to find the right channel on the Guide.
I presently have a 2 tuner Premiere with a M cable card. My question is will the same M cable card work in the Roamio TCD846500 Thanks for any help
Since Christmas, I haven't been able to use the MLB.TV feature on my Tivo. Yes, I know it's the off-season but there were a few archived games I wanted to watch. Anyway the MLB logo appears then the dots below the logo, but just at the point where the program usually starts up, I get a error message that says "Can't Connect" and to try again and if the problem persists to contact Tivo customer support.
Of course, I went through all the usual stuff of testing all the other network apps and made sure the Tivo could connect to the Internet properly, etc., rebooted the Tivo, power cycled my cable modem and router - all the standard troubleshooting things.
Contacting Tivo, I did all their suggestions of disabling then enabling transfers after waiting for a,a,a,a to change to i, i, i, i then back again. They suggested dissociating the Tivo from the MLB.TV account then re-enabling it, but the Tivo MLB app must be running to do that and it won't. I contacted MLB.TV and asked if they could disassociate the Tivo from my account and they could not. MLB works on my computer and on my iPad just fine.
Does anyone else have the problem? Or any suggestions for what to try?
So, this one sounds like a winner, it has some terrific talent, so it's one that should be worth checking out.
I have a 4-tuner Premiere in my setup. Its located in our main bedroom. Now that the Mini has dynamic tuning, I was thinking of getting one to add to my system. I would then like to move the 4-tuner Premiere to the living room and put this mini in the bedroom instead since I have heard its interface is faster (& this is where we tend to watch TV more).
Will the Mini be significantly faster even with an older Premiere as its main hub/source for the tuner & recordings? Does a mini work faster with a Roamio in the mix compared to a Premiere or does it not matter? Just curious.
Getting ready to purchase a Roamio Plus or Pro this week. In my market, Las Vegas, a tuning adapter is required.
Are there any members on here that live in Las Vegas and can answer the following question: Will I be able to successfully and reliably utilize all 6 tuners in a Roamio Plus or Pro?
I have read some accounts in other markets where only 4 tuners were available. My tuning adapter is a Cisco STA1520 and my cable card is a Scientific Atlanta which says HW 1.2 "F" on the back.
My Premiere XL has, I think, just died. Basically it won't boot up. I get the Welcome screen but after about 5 min. it goes to a black screen and then all the front panel LEDs start flashing. I don't really need to get the unit to work because the XL is obsolete and I'll replace it with a Roameo, but I have several shows on the HD that aren't available anywhere else. Is there any way to extract those shows from the old unit? The network doesn't see the unit, so I can't use the Desktop software to get at the shows.
I recently had my cable company out to the house for a tuning adapter issue and while he was here he checked all of the levels and replaced the drop from the telephone pole to the house. That was about a month ago, within the last week I've started to notice some intermittent pixelation every few minutes on a few channels. Signal levels/SNR are great and I have zero RS corrected/uncorrected errors on any channels including the pixilated ones. Can I then assume that the pixelation is most likely embedded in the streams themselves versus an issue with my equipment?
on pytivo, I have a folder setup like this:
Penn and teller> season 2> S2Ex Nameofepisode. (eg; S2E2 Safety Hysteria)
I have it sorted by alpha. But when It displays them it shows them as:
why are the names not in alphanumerical order? why does it seem to think 10 comes after 01 and 02 after 13? I have force alpha set to true in pytivo config. Any fix or workaround for this either?
I just had both of my TiVo minis experiencing skipping on hi DEF live TV and hidef recordings streamed from the Roamio. Rebooted a Mini, no change, rebooted the Roamio and that seems to have worked. Has anybody else had this problem? Is this something I will need to do on a regular basis?
First let me say Awesome that TCM is still running, Second how in the world am I still alive?
I was reading over HULU Plus discussion groups and I hit this.
I know they meant to say 2014 but this is why it's important to hit EDIT when you see an error before hitting submit.
Will the new Google VP9 make it to HULU and will content be converted?
I just saw Google's new format comparison with H.265 in a preview of CES 2914. I hope that Hulu will convert to the new format.

whoa. I must have blinked, we are in the super future it's 2914.. Please tell me we have teleportation and flying cars now. I mean geez nothing happening in 2010 and don't get me started on 2013. =)

One more note, if this was not accident then we have a the first documentation of a future log of events. Case in point, Hulu could improve stability. But wait on investing until 2914. I'm sure by then the commercials could be down to at least 10secs.
I have a Tivo Roamio and a sony str-dn1040 receiver. None of the codes work with the receiver. I also have my components in a closet so I cant switch to the glo learning remote. Any help would be appreciated.
Long story, but I am in a situation where I could basically sell two lifetimed Series 3 TiVos (a TCD648250B and a TCD652160) on ebay. From what I can tell, probably get about $200-250 for each of them.
I could then get a lifetimed TiVo mini (Yes, I do also have a 4-tuner Premiere in my network). I am wondering if I should do it or not & comparing some of the reasons.
As far as I can initially see, the main advantages of course is the mini has a much faster interface (that is also HD), can "stream" flagged material from my Premieres (aka...my Comcast HBO recordings) & no use or potential expense of a cable card.
Only real advantages I can see for keeping the Series 3s are primarily having more network storage for recordings. However, can ONLY transfer non-flagged content (In other words, can't transfer HBO recordings). Can't stream to/from at all with Series 3s.
Any other advantages/disadvantages for keeping one over the other?
I discovered multiple instances of No Country For Old Men and several other films on my To Do List even though the wishlists that caused them to be scheduled are set up for New And Repeats and not All.
It's the first time I've seen the issue in the month that this new box has been in service.
The TiVo button just switches between Central and Shows. No other button seems to work. Right now I hit the Guide button twice but it seems there would be a direct button. Maybe an older remote has this button and I could "learn" it on my RCA remote.
