I'm having season pass issues, Sometimes (example catfish the tv show) it will record random showings and not the NEW ONLY season pass?
How does a Roku3 fare as far as an alternative for a Netflix/Amazon Prime app. I'm getting tired of dealing with junk Premiere attempt.
How would it compare to the P5/Mini app ???
It has a 30 day money back guarantee, but if it is known to also be a kludge, it'll save me some time and trouble.
Beyond that, any other solutions ...
How is there not a thread for this show yet?
Any show with no laugh track should automatically have a thread!!!
Anyway, through the first two episodes i've had many "have to pause and rewind" moments due to laughing.
Family conference - when little Abbey schooled them all with her debate points (i have a teenager, so the 14th face thing just hit home so hard)
Also, don't forget to pause and read the bios for each person on the screen behind them as they speak, or the family conference rules! ;)
Larry Bird's pranking the Weavers with the aging machine story in Ep2
This show started for me as a "will watch it if i have time", but has turned into one of my favorite 30-minute shows.
Has anything changed to allow the transfer of the thumbs up/down to a new tivo from an existing device? I was able to easily transfer season passes but the new Tivo I'm finding it has no idea me any longer and is recommending stuff I have absolutely no interested in (been giving those recommendations three thumbs down but it is a pain).. Thanks..
Recently, while watching live tv, I have a problem when pressing the back (rewind) button on the TiVo remote. The program goes to the beginning of the buffer instead of rewinding. This happens only when I'm at the end of the buffer and it doesn't do this every time but it is very aggravating. It happens when I switch from one tuner to the other where I haven't paused play. Has anyone else experienced this issue? I haven't tried any fixes such as rebooting, etc. Thanks for any comments or questions.
My first TiVo premiere died under a 3 year warranty about 30 days ago. They replaced it with a refurb and now this one is almost dead too. I asked if there was any way to get a new box instead of refurb and they said they would have to upgrade me to the 75 hour premiere and it would cost me an additional $50. Has anyone been offered anything similar or better? I was really hoping I could find a way to get a 4 tuner model instead of the 2 tuner model. Ideas?
I got my Roamio a few weeks ago. After running the setup, I was scrolling though the channels and noticed many missing. I went into the channel menu and found many were not check marked. So I picked all the ones I wanted to add.
Now they show up as unkown for the channel name and no description for the programming. I have done dozens of connect to network and rebooted it too.
How do I get these channels to show up like all the rest?
TiVo was set to record the Motocross of Nations yesterday at 12 noon PST on ch474 CBSSNHD, for a period of 4.5 hours.
Actual program length was 3 hrs; I pad the recording time 1.5 hrs, just in case...
The recording started and then stopped after 20 minutes.
The recording bar showed a 4.5 hour recording but there was nothing after 20 min in.
i know i can schedule a tv program from the tivo.website. but i dont see access to the video on demand that is part of the menu when i am @ home using the tivo box. is it possible to do this from the website? if so how.
I replaced my Series 3 OLED model with a Roamio late last month and have been very pleased with the results. I'm now thinking of adding Showtime. Will I need to do anything else besides calling Comcast and signing up for it? That is, will I separately also have to call the CableCARD number and have the cards re-paired? I'm reluctant to alter a setup that is currently working well.
Interesting start. Slow if perhaps on purpose. Saul is a drunk, paralyzed by indecision both personally and professionally. Sells out Carrie. All seem unlike him. Dar Adal is really running the CIA. It took me through half the episode to remember who he is.
Why was CIA running this kill mission? "We're not assassins." Ok, so why wasn't some other branch of the military running it?
The Brody "tape" was leaked to the media, with the obvious implication that it was supposed to be about the Langley bombing, when it was in fact about the suicide vest, which the CIA decided not to tell anybody about. Who is responsible for leaking it? Saul? With the tape out there with that implication, Carrie really does look like a loon saying Brody is innocent. He's right there on tape confessing.
And "find the leak" in the CIA is starting to sound a lot like "find the mole" in CTU.
Tried backup of current 1TB drive using VMWare Fusion and Windows7 as admin, in addition to an external USB drive. Program unable to see drive. I don't find information referencing issues with Win7 Pro. Anyone able to use it successfully? Good news, no cap bulging on my TiVoHD.
Anyone following this?
Do you think/know Lisbon is killed?
I almost forgot about the season premiere of TAR as I was wrapped up in Breaking Bad...
Decent first episode, too early for me to really have a favorite team or two or a team or two I "hate". Good to have it back, love this show.
I don't know if there has ever been 2 road blocks.
I've had my Roamio for a few weeks now and love it. I have had a reoccurring problem with the Motorola tuning adapter with it however:
It seems that my Motorola tuning adapter is losing lock or signal but the light on the unit doesn't change to blinking. It's only until I switch to a channel that requires it's function do I realize it's not working properly. I've missed quiet a few recordings because of this. It used to happen once in a while on my XL4 as well, but it's happened 3-4 times already in the few weeks I've owned the Roamio.
A simple restart of the TA usually fixes the problem. Sometimes though I need to restart both the TA and the Tivo to get it to lock back on again. I haven't quite figured out the magic of these stupid tuning adapters.
One thing I have noticed that the Tivo is sending signals to the TA for EVERY SINGLE command. For example, if I change the volume on my receiver using the Tivo RF remote, the Tivo sends a signal to the TA (can tell because of the red status light). Maybe the TA is just getting too many signals and gets confused and looses lock. Even if I hit the Tivo button, the TA gets a signal. Like I said, basically everything I push on the RF remote, triggers the TA red light (meaning it's getting USB signal from the Tivo). Seems like that could be an issue?
Perhaps I have a bad TA? Maybe a signal problem? Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.
Platform Ver: 1.37
P.S. On another note, it seems as my TA is sometimes letting channels TIME OUT. Numerous times, I've turned on the TV to a black screen on a certain SDV channel. Once i switch the channel up and then down, it works fine, but it seems as though it's letting the channels time out even when one of the 6 tuners is currently tuned to that channel but not recording. Is that normal?
I will sell my stream for $50 (shipping included)
If you are interested in my lifetimed TiVo HD or OLED S3 units I will give a good deal on them as well. I also have a TiVo wifi dongle available!
(TiVo's shipped in original boxes)
I just bought a Roamio Plus and have followed many of the threads here regarding moca connections and I am still having issues. I have my Xfinity voice modem in my office and it is connected to an Apple Airport Base Station. Here is how I have the connections:
Wall - Splitter (2GHz) - One end into Actiontec Moca Adapter - The other end from Moca adapter to modem.
I have power cycled everything and I continue to get C33 errors. The Roamio is in the living room connected straight to the wall and I wondering if this is the issue. Moca is enabled on this device.
I am ready to give up and return the Actiontec adapters but I think this is an user error so I figured I would ask here.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Watching completely live, so I needed something to do during commercials, so here's the thread.
I noticed while watching AMC that the picture tends to get a purple hue often, then suddenly corrects. Has anyone seen this happen before? I don't notice it on any other channels and it happens on my other TV with an S3 connected.
Signal strength is 100. SNR 36.
Here's a (badly taken) video sample. You can see the background to the left of Walt get purple and then correct suddenly.
Just bought a Pro...
I've been using a Premiere for a year or two with a URC RF remote, via an RF-to-IR base station, and the combination worked great. I have to use one of those 3.5mm to IR blaster devices (the kind that stick to the front of the device over its IR receiver) to talk to the TiVo, though.
I just replaced the Premiere with a Roamio Pro and all I had to do was unstick the IR blaster from the Premiere, find the receiver on the Pro and stick the blaster back on. Everything just worked after that and it is fairly responsive as well. Still, I was hoping for a nicer solution...
Some of my devices come with an IR input on the back - a small (typically 3.5mm) jack that you can wire to an IR blaster device using an ordinary 3.5mm audio cable to receive the signals electrically rather than optically. I was hoping the new TiVos would eventually start providing a similar port, but not so with the Roamios.
On the other hand, TiVo sells a nice USB to IR receiver device on their web site that works with "Mini or TiVo DVR". Since the TiVo Minis also work with generic USB-to-IR products from other manufacturers, it sounds like this USB protocol for remote signals is a standard. And, plugging in a USB cable is a cleaner "install" than sticking a plastic wart to the front of the box.
If you consider that I could combine the TiVo (or 3rd party) "USB to IR receiver" extension with a standard "3.5mm to IR blaster" extension and tape the two together to convey the IR signals, it should be theoretically possible to do that same thing without the optical connection in the middle, no?
Has anyone heard of a "USB to 3.5mm" adapter for integration with an RF base station? I have enough soldering skills that I could probably build one, but wouldn't have any clue how to design it, and I'd rather get a nice clean pre-built solution instead (I'd almost rather duct tape the two adapters together instead of breaking out the soldering iron, except for the elimination of the optical pathway in the middle).
