I wanted to know if I had two Tivo's on my network and added a mini that connected to one of the Tivo's, would the mini be able to watch shows that are on the second Tivo?
I switched my roamio remote to the mini and it is sometimes sluggish with its response. I have to repeatedly press buttons before it changes. The mini remote worked perfect, but I prefer the feel of the roamio's.
Are the remotes supposed to be interchangeable?

Is there a genre name encompassing the wide range of SciFi, Horror, Comic Book & Fantasy TV shows? Any sort of scripted show that would be at home on SyFy.
My setup: Roamio Pro & Mini connected using Ethernet to gigabit switch.
Losing my patience with this issue. Netflix on the Mini has started becoming more unreliable. Last night, Tivo was working fine, but I couldn't launch Netflix. I even forced a call to the mothership, but that didn't work.
Instead, I dug out my laptop and Chromecasted to my tv! Such a clunky work around worked perfectly, but somehow Netflix on my Tivo Mini was unavailable.
What the hell is going on? This is happening more and more, and it shouldn't be.
Recently upgraded to a new Roamio.
I have a Series 3 with OLED display, 1TB hard drive, newly repaired power supply and lifetime service looking for a new home. I'm really going to miss the clock from the OLED display.
First, why isn't anyone talking about this show? The only thread about it was for the pilot and it seemed like the majority liked it yet no discussion since.
Ok it was a great episode but I am confused slightly about ...
Who stopped the camera from falling in the past episode "Sitting Ducks"? Was it his brother or what as the mom wasn't at the bridge with them right? So if both Stevens parents have powers then he is just like the founders daughter then.
I am enjoying the show, just surprised no one is talking about it here.
Is there a discrete button to list recorded shows without pressing "Tivo" twice?
Several threads show the list button on older remotes working on the Premiere Tivos but I can't find any posts on the Roamio.
If an older remote works on the Roamio I can program my remote to use it.
I thought it was a good debut episode. It didn't bowl me over, but was petty solid. All those years on Late Night have seasoned Jimmy Fallon well. I can see him lasting a long time. And hope he does.
I purchased a Roamio about 4 months ago along with a mini - put lifetime service on the mini immediately but decided to wait on the roamio. I just logged in to switch to lifetime and realized you cant do it until the end of your one year contract. Anyone have any luck getting tivo to let you switch ti lifetime earlier?
I live in central florida using brighthouse networks as my tv provider. I have a roamio plus with a card and tuner attached. I get all the first 100 channels
perfectly but most the channels about 100 tell me I'm not authorized for
that channel. I get a few local HD channels but thats about it. I just picked up the tuner add-on about two days ago from the cable company. I didn't know I needed one until then. Is there anything special I need to do after I hook it up to get it to work? I'm not even sure what channels the tuner is expected to pick up. I just know that I'm getting very few channels about 100. Its like I'm only getting the basic channels from brighthouse. I don't have any other cable boxes in my house. Do they only give out the basic channels if you don't rent one of their boxes? Trying to figure this out so I can get the other HD channels that are not tuning in on my roamio. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have not called the cable company yet because I'm not sure what to ask them.
Seeing reports that the USA vs. Czech Republic/Slovakia match at noon EST Wednesday will be live on the USA Network, not NBCSN.
We have 3 TiVo Premieres, cable cards and Comcast at our main home. All works good. We also have a vacation cabin in the same state (about 2hrs away) and they are also on the Comcast network. I have a basic Comcast account for this location as well.
I have an inactive Series 3 TiVo and was thinking I could simply get another cable card in my home area for this TiVo. Activate this Series 3 and then call Comcast and have it paired as needed. Once all works well at my home location, could then theoretically take this cable carded Series 3 up to the cabin location and should be able to plug it in.
Since its still on the Comcast network, would this theoretically work? Anyone ever try this?
Are there any current promotions to add lifetime service? I see listings on ebay for Tivo buying service to get a lifetime at a discount.
Is Tivo offering discounts for current subscribers?
I have question about expanding series 3 recording capability.
1. I got 1.5T hard drive.
2. I followed the instructions to replace the hard drive
3. I used winMFS backup and restore
4. Backup the image from old drive
5. Restored the image to new drive
6. hook up the TV and network and run setup again
After that, it does not show right recording hours, instead the system info still shows old hours (20hours). What extra step I have to do? Can you give me a clue?
My TiVo isn't listing tonight's premiere of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (though it is showing episodes for the rest of the week) - the listings only show the Olympics and my local nightly news. You may need to check your listings to see if it is appearing. I setup a manual recording covering 11:45 pm-1:15 am eastern, just to be sure that I record it.
Howdy... I apologize if this is an easy question to answer or impossible. I am asking on behalf of my brother's father-in-law. I'm the goto techie guy. My experience with Tivo was many years ago and that was with the Directv only models so I don't have great understanding on how the stand alone Tivos work. I also, unfortunately, don't have a lot of specifics so let me know if I need to follow up with my bro to get it.
Just recently the bro's in-laws TiVo TCD649180 Series II stopped providing the guide data. As far as I know this is the only symptom. The Tivo is being used with Charter cable. The in law called both Charter and Tivo and they both said he needs to get a wireless modem and a Tivo switch. Hearing that, does this help understand what the cause is 'no guide data'? If it does, what would this wireless modem and Tivo switch being fixing? Again I don't have any more than I just told you so I hope it makes sense to you more familiar with it all.. Thanks I really appreciate it.

I copied a few tv shows from my Tivo Premiere to my iPad via computer using Tivo Desktop Plus choosing to convert to iPad.
When I start the tv show on my iPad, the audio is in sync at the beginning of the episode but by half way through the audio is at least two seconds ahead of the picture and by the episode end it is four to five seconds ahead of the picture.
These were tv shows recorded ota from different stations and all play back fine on the TiVo itself.
Disappointing since I paid $16 for the software.
Anyone else have this problem or know of a solution? I was going for ease of us vs using third party options.
I'm a tad confused here. Just replaced a series3 (ethernet) with a roamio plus. I have three old nim-100 MoCA bridges elsewhere in the house to get ethernet there - one in the kitchen, one in my stepson's bedroom and one connected to my (non-verizon) router. Everything worked fine, until I tried switching the roamio to MoCA, but it times out and says it can't connect. If I look at MoCA network status, it says 'link down'. Looking at where the verizon guy wired up the coax, I have a 4-way and 2-way splitter. The ONT goes to IN on 2-way. One of the outputs of that goes somewhere (it's hard to tell where). The other goes to IN on the 4-way, and the 4 outputs go wherever they go. The splitters are both rated to 1000mhz, which I've read is okay. I am puzzled as to why that one coax going to the roamio doesn't seem MoCA friendly. I don't see anything in the splitter setup that would just bork the tivo's coax, MoCA-wise. Right around the corner from the roamio is another coax going to the Nim100 connected to the router (well, technically a switch, but...) I had gotten the impression I should just be able to have the roamio join the existing MoCA network, but doesn't seem to be the case. I'm going to try connecting the router's nim100 to the roamio's coax to see if that exonerates that coax run. Any thoughts/ideas would be much appreciated...
