I currently have my XL4 hooked up to a Slingbox. This allows me to stream HD to both my iPad and PC over my home network.
Have a Roamio on order which should arrive a the end of the week. I know that the Roamio can stream to my iPad but what about the PC? Do I need to keep using the Slingbox in order to maintain that capability?
So, my Tivo HD TCD652160 has been running for years on a cable input only.
I now want to record thru the antenna input as well. I understand I have to visit Guided Setup again, but I'm happy with all the cable channel assignments, cable card setup, etc.
Anyone know if those settings will be retained, and I can just turn on the antenna input?
Also, once scanned, will my channel guide then show OTA listings such as 2.2,
Since it ain't broke, I'm hesitant to fix it.
Why did rothstein sell Doyle's life insurance policy to nucky for 20% its value, when he could have had him killed and kept all of it?
Still learning my way around TiVo here, so I apologize in advance.
Do updates happen automatically or do I have to do something to prompt them? If they do it automatically, how do I know if I have been updated. Is their an operating system version number somewhere in the help section? Thanks.
I have a lightly used Series4 (TCD746320) w/2TB upgrade and LIFETIME service for sale.
Feel free to ask any questions!
I previously had two Premier XL4's running on a MoCa network (that one of the XL4's created) and it worked fine. I just upgraded to a Roamio Pro and Mini and every time I turn MoCa on (on the Pro) my internet connection speed goes from 55Mbps to .32Mbps (to the point where Tivo won't connect and web pages won't load on my laptop.
Here is the set up:
Coax goes in the house to a splitter, one cable goes to the Tivo and one goes to the cable modem (then to a wireless N router). The router then runs an Ethernet cable to the Tivo. The Mini upstairs is connected via coax. This is the exact same setup I had previously and it worked fine. I spoke to two techs at Tivo and neither could fix it. Anybody have any ideas to try before I determine it is a hardware failure (and have to copy all my shows to another pro again)?
I should add that I tested all the cables (coax and Ethernet) and they are all good.
Thanks in advance.
I know this will ultimately be a matter of personal preference, but I am curious to see if there is any consensus among Roamio owners.
I currently output video from my video at 1080i into my Onkyo 818 A/V receiver, which has what I am told is top of the line video processing with a VHD1900 chip and Marvell Qdeo. Would it result in a better picture if I let the TiVo output at each resolution natively?
I'm getting an occasional output issue where suddenly Roamio only displays a black screen. The box seems to be working fine as anything that was playing or recording continues doing so, but I get no sound and no picture for a seemingly random amount of time. It has done this four times now. Twice it has not come to life on its own after waiting a few minutes (though it may have eventually -- not patient), requiring an unplug, and twice it has returned after a couple minutes on its own. I've switched HDMI ports and I have ran my family's often used XBox 360 on the HDMI port that Roamio was on to see if it was the TV, but it doesn't seem to be. The bug repeated itself on a second port and the 360 has not had an issue in the original port.
This coupled with the daily C133 makes me worried about the longevity of my investment here. Anyone else having this problem? It is my understanding that standby simply cuts the output -- Is there a way to put Roamio in standby without navigating the menu system? Maybe putting it in and out of standby would be a quicker fix than the unplug that also messes up recordings and whatnot.
Last Christmas I got the 4 tuner Premiere(?) unit with lifetime service. The previous machine went on the shelf since nobody expressed interest in paying the subscription fees.
Now I have a need to repurpose this old machine for capturing video of local government meetings for publishing online (public domain video). These are all done manually so no guide is needed. Probably don't care about updates either.
Is there any reason why I can't just fire this up w/o paying Tivo-tolls? Its listed on the account as needing activation but I assume if I push the button I will get a bill and since this is unpaid volunteer work I'll probably rebuild my Mythbuntu box if that's the case.
Anybody done something like this?
Wow...was not expecting that ending. That was cool.
I have to say I actually liked this episode. Well, except for the Marshall and the hippie part. The Robin storyline was good. It showed some emotion that she's been missing lately and tied into stuff earlier in the season.
We now know why the car was left on the stairs a few episodes back. That girl cannot catch a break.
Nice continuation of the last episode. Loved how they kept stealing that case back and forth between them.
Anyone think that Alicia's daughter's thing with the other Cary is a bit creepy?
Tough spot for Diane's hubby to be in, but in the end it turned out he ended up helping his wife.
I wonder how the ethical thing is going to get Peter in trouble. You know they are leading towards that.
As an aside. In some respects it's a shame that Michael J. Fox has his own show. It would have been fun if Alicia and Cary could have teamed up with Canning somehow. We already know that Canning offered Alicia a partnership awhile ago.
And I'm definitely not liking Kalinda this year. She's really being sneaky. I know she's always been that way, but you wonder how Cary and Alicia could not be seeing it.
I just purchased a Tivo Roamio Plus and one Mini. The initial cable card pairing and setup went well (although the update took about an hour!). I have my Roamio next to my Verizon Fios router and I had plugged an ethernet cable from the router into the Roamio. I then had set up my Roamio as Moca so that the Mini can see it. When I would check the settings it would say the connection was Ethernet and Moca.
However, when I checked the network settings the Moca had no settings at all. It said Moca was "down" and had all zeros next to the settings. When I unplugged the Ethernet, all of the Moca settings came up and they were excellent settings.
However, I plugged the ethernet cable back in thinking I should have it set up that way because that's how the setup instructions look.
I started watching my Tivo Mini both live tv and some recorded programs and it was buffering and I would get a pop up saying there was a problem with the network. Very annoying. I have been reading more and more and it appears that I don't need to use Ethernet if I have Moca enabled. I was reading somewhere else that the Verizon Fios router is automatically set up as a Moca device anyway. Should I have both Ethernet and Moca connected? I was reading somewhere on the Tivo website that if I do both, it is set up as bridge mode.
I haven't watched TV yet on the Mini with just the Moca setup on the Roamio so not sure if that was the problem, but if anyone can shed some info, I would appreciate it.
Bronchiectasis is a curative ailment that is caused by destruction of the muscle and elastic tissues. the disease involves major annihilation and broadening of the large airways. This condition is classified into two different conditions one is congenital the disease which is developed at the time of birth and second is acquired the disease which developed later in life. A patient suffering from the disease experiences contained, irretrievable dilation of bronchial tree which makes the bronchi inflamed and easily inflatable. the disease is linked to wide range of disorders which can be the reason of its occurrence. The the disease is not so common but those who acquire it have had it. Its painful, irritating and makes the patient collapse within a short span of time.
It seems like every thread here is about complaints.
Here is a thread to offset....
My Premieres record every show I ask them to. They add buffers when I want. On-demand from Comcast works all the time. I never miss a recording because of the TiVo, only when the stupid networks run sports past the scheduled time.
Netflix doesn't annoy me because I use the app on my blu-ray player.
For the second week in a row my Series 2 Standard Definition Tivo has failed to record Castle on ABC at 10 pm. It recorded Bones and Sleepy Hollow on Fox at 8 and 9 pm successfully. It recorded shows earlier during the day on other channels, so it is not a channel-changing problem. I replaced the cable box last week after the first problem, thinking it was a faulty cable box. Any ideas?
Is anyone else having this problem?
1, when I tune to any of my HBO channels, the cablecard installer screen pops up. Then when I hit "Clear" to clear the screen, I get a V58 error (channel not available or something like that). Numerous calls to Verizon have turned up nothing. Yes, Verizon has me authorized for those channels.
2, the cablecard installer screen also pops up at random intervals when watching any other channel, or when watching recorded programs. And when I hit "Clear" it returns me to whatever I was watching with no further problems.
Have tried two new cablecards, same problem. Cablecard model numbers are current.
I have been having a bunch of pixelation issues with my roamio. I thought we had issues with our lines since they were older and so today a Comcast tech came out and ran a new line, but the issue still persists. It's mainly one or two channels, CBS being the worst, and out signal is just fine.
Under DVR diagnostics I am getting these readings on the channel that has an issue.
SNR - 36DB
RS Uncorrected - 0
RS Corrected - 135
Signal Strength - 91%
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this, been living with it for 4 weeks and it's driving me crazy because it gets very pixelated at times. Comcast has been out 5 times this month but can't solve it. Seems to happen the most when popular shows are on for some reason. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I'm considering transferring from a TiVo HD to a Roamio Pro. Is there an easy method to transfer all of my recorded content from one to the other?
I did search the forum but didn't find any easy results. If I missed anything please point it out. Thanks!
