The 10/9 update has definitely resolved the issue with green switches for my Roamio Pro. I spent an hour trying to get it to fail this morning and saw zero glitches of any kind. It would have failed multiple times in an hour prior to the 10/9 update.
My Tivo S3 (OLED) had developed a new networking issue.
FYI, all hardware mentioned below is hardwired via cat 5 to my local network and I have a working Comcast 50+ mb connection
- Xfer a program from my Tivo HD (non OLED), starts xfer then reboots
- try to connect to S3 with Android Tivo app fails to connect. Works fine to the Tivo HD.
- Netflix playback is sluggish, pixelated, non responsive, unwatchable. Playback of same program on an Oppo 93 Blu-ray, connected to the same network/switch works fine.
I think the network port may be failing. I'm tempted to buy a Tivo wireless adapter and bypass the network port on the S3 to see if this cures the problem. They run about $30 on Amazon now, so its a cheap easy fix.
Anyone else have similar network issues on an S3? Any other diag steps I can take to confirm things?
Got a mini connected to an XL4 no live TV allowed, when viewing the guide on the mini I often get this repeated bong sound, doesn't seem to affect anything but its really annoying. Connected via hard wire ethernet if that matters.
Anyone else have this happen.
I just received my new Roamio Pro and the remote is slightly different.
They added a new button "Back".
Why would they add a specific button to return to previous screen when the left arrow does the same function?
Also, does anyone use the "Zoom" button?
I haven't run across a need for it, but others may have.
I need help, I am two weeks into this fiasco and Tivo has been unable to assist though I have talked to them at least 10 times. I had all Premiers and with the kids gone I thought what a better time to tell Comcast to stop charging me for the additional outlet drops and cable cards. So I returned all but 1 cable card and now my brand new 2013 built townhome has coax in every room but I am only looking to get my tivo Roamio working in the living room, and the mini in the master bedroom.
The Master bedroom has a levitron box in the closet in which I see two splitters, and all the cat 5e end connectors that run throughout the house. First thing I tried was running a ethernet cable directly to the Roamio and the Mini. Results were the Roamio seemed to work fine but the mini could see Tivo Central and the Roamio but it simply would not play live tv and it would not play shows even though I could see them and manipulate them and showed the V113 error for about a week.
I have my own owned SB6141 SURFboard going to a dlink 1750 http://www.dlink.com/us/en/home-solu...gigabit-router
and a netgear gigabit switch in the closet going to all the cat5e and another dlink gigabit switch behind the tv in the master for the roku, PS3, bluray etc...
When I connect the actiontek adaptor for Moca as suggested next to the modem I lose all internet connectivity and wireless, like the router cannot see the internet any longer. I unplug it just from power and it seems to come back, I fiddled with it for several hours and still nothing. I have cable at the Roamio and Cable at the Mini but they both cannot see a gateway.
So I thought I would try ethernet again, Same results as above so I put the Roamio and the mini right next to each other on the same switch and unplugged anything else on the network, still same result No live TV, no able to play recorded on Roamio shows everything else works and still a V113 error.
I dont know what to do or try now, I thought this would be easy but after 14 years with Tivo I want to cancel and tell comcast to bring me a PVR setup.
Please Help anyone,
Well on sitcoms.
Seeing it on FXX and NBC shows, like the last bits before end credits or as end credits roll.
Is everyone having to pad?
It's as if their clock is a minute or two early.
I have a Glo Remote that controls my Series 3 DVR, my Vizio sound bar and my Vizio TV.
Can I use it with the Roamio Basic DVR???
Since my Glo Remote already is programmed for my Vizio TV and sound bar won't it automatically control the new Roamio, TV and sound bar???
Will I have to go into the Raomio and find the code for my TV?
I already did a face to face program with my sound bar remote and my Glo remote.
I hope I've asked the correct questions. If not, please let me know what more info to submit.
I'm pretty sure my Premiere has gotten gradually slower since I bought it, even as the software has been upgraded. For instance, even with just 10-12 recordings in My Shows, it takes about 5 seconds to open. Is it possible there's fragmentation in the system files, or indexing, which could be fixed by resetting?
Or, is it more likely just the unavoidable Internet look-up issue? (I have 12 Mbps hard-wired, not wireless.)
It seems like there used to be a feature for pulling in arbitrary video RSS feeds, but I can't seem to find it now. The Roamio pages show what I think I was looking for, the "Browse Web Videos" entry, but I can't find it on my unit. (See here: https://www.tivo.com/my-account/welc...re-from-roamio
Has this feature been removed, and if so, is there any alternate way to subscribe to arbitrary RSS feeds?
I got a brand new roamio plus with lifetime service as a gift from my friend. I haven't even opened the package. But, I do not have any use for it since I am probably leaving the country soon. So, I am planning to sell it off before leave. I am expecting $850 (negotiable) for it (retail price = $900 + shipping + tax). Reply if you are interested.
Hi, I know this question has been posted before, but there doesn't seem to have been a definitive answer. The posts seem to turn into a "why would you want to do that" or "you don't need to". So please someone just answer the question "yes I can record from ROKU" and how do I hook it up or "no you can't" (and then I thank you for your expertise.)
The reason I want to record is because sometimes Amazon Instant Video (my reason for getting the ROKU) makes certain movies available for a specified time and I would like to record them so that I could have them indefinitely. Sometimes a season of a certain TV show will only be available for a certain amount of time also.
Thank you in advance for your direct answers.
I'm a bit confused with having multiple tuners (just went from S2 to Premier 4).
Say I am watching live TV channel 5 using the delay buffer and watching a show that started at 8:30. I have something scheduled for 9:00 also on channel 5. When it is 9:00, it jumps right to real time and I am watching the recording and lose my buffer of my 8:30 show completely! That seems wrong. What's the point of having all those tuners!?!? Is that buffer around somewhere?
This is not how my S2 worked. I could continue my 8:30 show just fine until I ran into the 9:00 start. Seems like a step backwards with this particular scenario.
I don't get this behavior if I am watching a different channel at 8:30. Then it just uses another tuner to switch to channel 5 and I am all set.
Maybe there is some preference I can set???
I have spare remotes on the way what is the process to pair a second and third remote so that they all work on the same box. I know three remotes sounds crazy but I have kids that love to hide them.
I have Tivo Premiere connected to my TV via HDMI port.
At the same time, I am also trying to stream music stored on my computer to a separate receiver. I am using red, white component cables from premiere to receiver.
The strangest thing is happening though. The music on my TV is playing the vocals while the same music (at same time) streaming through receiver via component cables is only playing the background music without vocals.
Any idea on why that's happening? What can I do to resolve this?
Please help. Thanks.
I've been trying to set up my old Toshiba RS-TX20 Series 2 with my Channel Master 7000 OTA converter box (just putting the combo back into service after a couple of years) and the danged Tivo setup won't accept any options for my area code but Verizon FIOS Pomona, AT&T U-verse TV and None of the Above (area code 90808). I used to use Pioneer Cable and it worked great (changed channels and pulled applicable lineup info for recording).
What happened? What can I use to get the duo to play nice now?
Right now, I'm just scratching my head and staring at the Toshiba. Any ideas and/or direction would be appreciated.
Some of my Season Passes record all episodes of the show even though I've set the option to record only new episodes. I'm a new TiVo owner using a Wow M-card. Am I missing something? How can I get only new episodes?
I have two Toshiba SD-H400s that are not working properly (wobbly picture and random rebooting).
In both machines, I've tried new hard drives:
- two new refurbished Seagate DB35s from Newegg, with software cloned from an old SD-H400 using WinMFS,
- a new WeaKnees pre-formatted drive,
- one of the refurb DB35s with software cloned from the WeaKnees drive using WinMFS. I tested that on just one of the machines (I forget which, it's been months).
(I even tried a Kickstart 54 test on the WeaKnees drive--it tested ok.)
With any of the above drive swaps, the problems specific to each SD-H400 remained.
SD-H400 #1: Wobbly picture. Horizontal areas appear momentarily in the picture, of differing heights, in different locations, but skewed off kilter, something like this:
It got worse over time (over about a year), including rolling of the picture, like what we'd cure with the vertical hold adjustment on an old TV.
SD-H400 #2 (an eBay replacement that reportedly worked fine for the previous owner in a week of his pre-sale testing): It reboots at various, unpredictable times, maybe averaging 20 minutes of run time, but varying from minutes to hours before reboot.
The SD-H400s were tested serially, in the same location, using the same power source and plugs. I eyeballed the power supplies for expanded capacitors, but couldn't discern any.
Before dipping into eBay/Craigslist for yet another SD-H400, can anyone think of anything I could try? Like a likely piece of hardware that I could try swapping between machines? Or a source where I could buy a power supply, if that's the likely fault in both.
"Once Upon a Time" hasn't gotten much attention on this board later, so I guess it's not surprising that the spin-off "Once Upon a Time in Wonderland" hasn't either.
Since "OUaT" is my favorite current TV show, I was pretty excited about "OUaTiW" -- we've seen Wonderland before, via the Mad Hatter storyline, but there's obviously much more to be mined there in terms of the source material.
And so last night I eagerly went to my "Now Playing" list and selected "OUaTiW." And 45 minutes or so later, I was mildly underwhelmed. It's a quest story (find Cyrus the love interest/genie) which is perfectly fine and works well as a serialized backbone. The graphics suited Wonderland reasonably well -- it's got an appropriate cartoonish look to the roads, hills, and so on. The actress who plays Alice is fine.
Yet, it all adds up a little short. I get that she spent much time in Wonderland and had many adventures with Cyrus, leading them to fall in love, and that these will be reviewed over the course of the season in flashbacks. But while that storytelling method worked for "Lost" and has been working for "Once Upon a Time," it seemed too short-circuited here to convey the romantic connection. At least in "Once Upon a Time," we've all been socialized to know that Snow White and Prince Charming are meant to be together. Alice's relationship with Cyrus is not one that comes from the basic source material (i.e., the Disneyfied version, which is what I'm guessing most viewers come with). As a result, the emotional impact -- and feeling of loss that would drive her to be willing to accept a lobotomy -- just wasn't there.
I'm still keeping the season pass, but this didn't quite live up to my expectations yet. (And my other top pre-season pick, "Agents of SHIELD," is becoming more and more disappointing.)
Seems Amy stirred things up quite a bit inside and outside of the show. So far I think she has a point. Sheldon should just take her right to "Last Crusade".
For me the best line of the night was "Oh my God, you still go left!"
Hi - I'm trying to help my parents who have a series 2 (TCD 649080). They're in North Carolina, provider is Comporium. Lightening struck the house and fried the sound on the Tivo. Picture was still fine after the lightening, but live TV has no sound. (playback of previously recorded show was fine with picture and sound). They called Comporium to see if they could help with the tivo or bypass the tivo until they got a new one. As unbelievable as it sounds in 2013, the techs that came out (2 different guys on different days) had never seen a tivo, so they bypassed the tivo and also put in a new DTA, Evolution dms-2002-ca just as an upgrade. I got a replacement series 2 on ebay (I tested the replacement at my house and know it works), but I can not get any signal from the new evolution dms-2002-ca. (the tivo set up displays picure and sound) If the tivo is unplugged, the cable signal goes through the tivo, but with the tivo plugged in, nothing. Everything is connected correctly (Cable > evolution dms-2002-ca >Tivo in. And Tivo out > tv in). Evolution DTA, Tivo and TV are all set to channel 3. I even tried the damaged tivo (which still displayed a picture after the lightening but before Comporium put in the evolution DTA.
Any ideas? I looked at posts here on searched elsewhere on the net and and didn't find anything that showed an incompatibility. Sorry for the long post - and help would be very appreciated. Thanks
