What? No thread yet?
Awesome episode. Now we're seeing the beginnings of Jimmy (Saul) and Mike's relationship. Great background on Chuck and Jimmy at the beginning as well.
Best of the three so far IMO.
Mini $150 should include lifetime service. I know right now it's free lifetime service till may but tivo mini should always include free lifetime. WHY? cause it can't work without main TVIO which we paid $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for. at least tivo guys is finally getting it. I'll buy mini v2 when someone sells it for $120 before may.
My fav feat about TIVO that makes it worth it.
being able to FAV the channels you want and ONLY showing those channels!!! Click guide and it shows 30channels I fav. I can press channel up and down and it will only go through those channels!!!! I couldn't do that with comcast DVR, with comcast DVR I had to click "fav" channel list EVERY SINGLE TIME and once you press up or down it would show rest of the channel. Same when you click the guide button. just ruined the whole TV experience. I paid a lot for tivo + lifetime but that one feat. makes it all worth it for me. thanks
1. from TIVO central you cannot go back to live TV by pressing BACK button. YOU HAVE TO CLICK LIVE TV TO switch to live TV. Why can't you freaking go back WITH BACK BUTTON?>!?!??!?!
2.when watching ur recorded show from TIVO central. U browse through TIVO central menu. You cannot go back full screen to ur TV by pressing Play or pause and play. You have to manually click on the TV show u were watching from TIVO central.
Am I missing something - I can download a show to my ipad but don't see that option on my Android app ?? thanks
I am able to see the stuff on the Tivo from my iPhone 5 and iPad Mini app but I can't use either as a remote, they both give the same error message that I have to be on my home network ... which I am! I only have one wireless router and it services all my stuff so I am not sure why it keeps saying I am not on my home network. What can I do to fix this?
I have Better Call Saul One Pass, but the odd thing is that the folder's date for last updated keeps changing daily and moving to the top of folders while no show is being recorded in that folder.
Bug ? Feature ? :)
I have a new Roamio Plus and Tivo support says I need to get a new spplitter that operates above 5-1000 Mhz range to connect the mini. I live in a modern apt building with a 3 way 5-1000 mhz splitter.
Sux that Tivo doesn't make products that are compatible with standard consumer household environments. Who would come up w a product that requires customers to go buy a new, extra range splitter and is incompatible with the core market?
I am getting FIOS TV for my two Roamio's (plus cablecards).
I'm keeping the Time Warner Cable internet as my internet provider.
I have the TWC Motorola cable modem plus the top of the line Ausus router.
I'm arguing with Verizon whether I really need the Quantum Gateway, which is normally $9.99 a month.
When will one pass be available?
With Sling TV coming to Xbox One, I was finally able to get everyone onboard to cut the cord.
Which brought me to buy my first ever TiVo.
I have always heard about how good they are, and after only a couple of hours I went back and returned a Roamio OTA, bought a Roamio Basic and added Lifetime service.
The killer features are really that streaming is integrated into the single remote for easier family adoption and it also happens to work with really well with Xbox One - so, whatever is not on the TiVo, IS on the Xbox. HBO Go and Sling TV really round out the entertainment and even if those add up to $35/month, I still save $130 a month over the Dish bill.
It would be nice if there was a forum here just for people using TiVos as OTA DVRs - instead of looking through a lot of forums with cable centric issues.
Based on the latest TiVo financial reports, it seems like they are definitely on the upswing and I think Sling TV and HBO's moves will just add to that.
I just found today that one can now download programming on encrypted channels to an iPad via the TiVo app, at least for this FIOS customer. The caveat is that the app tells you that it will delete the show from the actual TiVo once the download is completed. To me that's a small price to pay for the ability to download HBO/Cinemax movies/shows to my iPad. I can generally re-record another airing of shows on those channels anyway if I wish to "replace" them to the Roamio.
I have one single and two dual tuner TiVos. The single was retired a few years ago; the DTs were retired just this past month. Each has worked perfectly.
If you are near northern San Diego County, these are free to a good home come and get it (them).
All cables and parts, the remotes, original box, etc. Excellent condition, all.
( I didn't have enough posts to get this into the sub-group area....)
I was hoping maybe TiVO would get HBOGO, but I am now hearing the new HBO streaming service that is due out soon (no cable subscription required) is NOT gonna be the same as the current HBOGO service. Rather, it will be a slightly cannibalized version of it and not include certain shows. Its apparently a move to try and please everyone; subscribers and cable partners. I think it will be more like the current Amazon Prime HBO offerings. Will see.
I currently have 1 Roamio Pro and 5 Tivo Premieres - all ethernet hard wired to my home network (Verizon router with a multiswitch), Verizon cablecards, and use the Roamio for streaming. Everything works fine.
One of the Premieres just died and I want to replace it. I am looking to purchase another Roamio (don't want a Mini as I like the multi-tuner function on each TV) but I an concerned about having issues with multiple Roamios, particularly with streaming.
Are there any known issues with multiple Roamios I need to be concerned with because if so, do I need to look for a new Premiere instead which there are not many left out there.
Thanks for the help in advance.
I have a roamio plus attached to a dvr WD HD.
Tonight it finished a Netflix and started stuttering.
Video goes for about 2sec and then it holds. No sound also.
Menus are also stuttering & no sound.
Recorded shows also stuttering & no sound.
Netflix xfinity on demand YouTube also stuttering and no sound.
I've rebooted two times and it even stutters on the TiVo into and no sound.
It isn't my internet, all other devices are working fine. (Laptops. Phones)
I AM able to play the recordings on the roamio via our mocha network on our 2 tuner premiere in the bedroom with no issues. I can watch old or new shows no problem. If I wait through the lag and record a new show on the roamio I can watch that fine on the oremere in the other room. No issue.
This makes me think it is the TiVo not the hard drive. If it were the hard drive I would have issues of playback in the other room.
Help. This thing is just over a month old with lifetime. I'm very worried.
Heh. I got a Roamio a couple of months ago, so I gave my old Premiere to my Dad. Yesterday, my brother was visiting him in Florida and they got it set up. Tonight, I was watching TV and wanted to do some maintenance stuff on the TiVo (checking out upcoming recordings, etc). I use the app for that, since then I don't have to interrupt what I'm watching (as long as it doesn't require too much attention to multi-task!). But according to the app, I wasn't watching what I was watching; I was watching Downton Abbey. "What the heck?" I thought to myself.
So I checked the Now Playing list, and Downton Abbey was the only thing on it. I checked the To Do list, and Downton Abbey was the only thing on it. I checked the Season Pass list, and Downton Abbey was the only thing on it. "Hmmm," I thought to myself. "I'm beginning to sense a pattern here..."
Then I went to the list of DVRs, and there were two named Living Room. Both of which were checked as the current DVR. Apparently, when they set up Dad's Premiere, they named it Living Room, which is what I named my Roamio. And apparently, his Premiere takes precedence over my Roamio in the app.
I renamed mine, but the app still had the same problem. I logged out of the app and then logged back in, and then the DVRs were listed under their separate names, and I could go back to mine.
I called my Dad, and asked, "Are you enjoying Downton Abbey?" We got a good laugh out of it. "I'm glad I wasn't watching porn," he said.
My first thought when the dogs showed up - "There's dinner"
"We are the Walking Dead."
Is Aaron a good guy or bad guy?
WUSA/9 has started a "new" BANNER and display it all damn day and night even with CBS/NETWORK product.
The banner is a TEMP xx degrees, FEELS LIKE xx degrees and an AQI of what ever. They don't even seem to have the capability to "hack" particularly well the HD broadcast.
I don't understand what these TV broadcasters are attempting to accomplish. It can only be xx temp and feels like xx in "ONE SPOT". I'm 60 miles away and it's certainly much colder than their display.
If this were some of their own early AM product it's maybe understandable but when they choose to display it with the "NETWORK" and "PRIME TIME" product I'd say it's just a bit damn much.
I don't know this is the proper discussion topic but it sounded like an appropriate spot for me.
Any other CBS - NOVA/DC/MD/WV viewers aggravated by this?
Anyone watching this? Seems like they most of old cast members, including the living ones from season 1 and Eddie Murphy are in it. The opening musical wasn't that great, but Steve Martin was good as usual.
It will be interesting to see all the old cast members reprise their SNL roles.
