Missing a power cord and a remote. I have a spare remote from my Series 3 that I think will work.
1) Will the remote work?
2) Where can I get a cheap power cord?
3) Will I need anything else in order to test it to see if it works?
Tivo EliteXL4 running component out through a component matrix the HDMI is running through a Pioneer AVR (VSX-1022k) and then to one set.
Here is the problem...
I am able to get video and audio everywhere. When the Pioneer AVR is off... (it feeds the HDMI to my home theater), the picture gets steady glitches about every 7 seconds or so on the component video output.
If I turn the AVR back on... problem solved.
I hope I didn't confuse!
I currently have 2 Mini's in my house that are connected to the coax via MoCA. If I add 2 more, are there any potential issues with bandwidth? I have 2 Premiere 4 boxes and would just split up tapping into the two of them for the primary connections. Thanks!
Is the DVD creation process the same with Roamio? I've never owned a Tivo, but with a bit of googling it appears that with older Tivos you can transfer shows to your PC and then burn them with software like VideoRedo. Is this process the same with the Roamio, or is it easier/harder with the Roamio? I'm considering buying a Roamio and I hope I can copy shows to DVD (via my PC).
I was thinking of setting up an old pc I have for Tivo backup. I have also thought of online. Who has used online and how did it go. I understand it can take awhile to upload big files. Does it slow your pc down alot while it is uploading?
Unless the networks get some decent shows going, I will have no TV to record. Leverage is done, so is breaking bad, This is the last season for Law and Order SVU. Psych and Bates motel are good but both not coming back until next year. Dr who is good, but I need more shows like leverage, or breaking bad or law and order. Not into the CSI stuff they get too into the autopsy and blood of things. Simpsons is ending too. not a good time to subscribe to cable I guess.
I have two Tivo Premiers. One I just upgraded to a 2 TB drive tonight. Its the version with OTA and Digital Cable. I also have another one In the bedroom that my wife uses, and I have another 2TB laying around I'll be tossing in that one tomorrow. Ill be getting some money at xmas time and again at tax time that is usually in the thousands of dollars each time, the rest of the year im broke, so I like to go on shopping sprees for electronics both times. Should I lifetime my premiers or should I upgrade to roamios
I have had my Series 3 for over 10 years (Lifetime transferred from my Series 1) and it is on its second external hard drive 1TB, purchased from Amazon in May. I have FIOS and 2 cablecards. Starting a week ago, it has been rebooting every 45 minutes or so. My old recordings are unaffected, but no new ones have been complete as it takes about 15 minutes to reboot and start a second recording attempt. It is also responding to commands very slowly.
I have had TIVOs for many years and replaced many hard drives, but are there any other probable causes to this other than the hard drive? I believe I am not able to run diagnostics as I only have Apple computers.
I recently switched back to cable, and after a fiasco regarding getting CableCards and TAs, and a choice between reusing my 2 inactive Premieres or buying a Roamio + mini, I decided to reactivate my two Premieres. I have a TiVo HD with lifetime, so I am getting the MSD. I wanted to cut my fees as much as possible so I decided to go with the 1-year commitment pricing plan, even though these two Premieres have fulfilled their initial year.
However, I may at some point before this time next year decide to upgrade to a Roamio, and there is a chance I may eliminate one of my TVs. So, a couple of questions:
1. I am still within the 30 day "guarantee" period where I can completely cancel. Don't want to do that, but, within that window can you "convert" to a month-to-month plan?
2. If I keep the 1-yr commitment, can I transfer that commitment to a Roamio? Or, if I bought a Roamio, would I be stuck paying an ETF or keeping my Premiere active?
Looking to upgrade to Tivo Desktop Plus. When I got to buy it, it seems like the only option is to have it shipped to my physical mail address. Is there no download option?
I am wondering if perhaps they just have a clumsy/inaccurate checkout process and when I get to the end it's going to E-Mail me a download key. However, I don't want to finalize my purchase and I find out I truly have to wait 3-5 days for a CD to be mailed to me with the software.
Anyone have any experience with this process?
I just purchased a Roamio Plus and I've been trying for several hours to connect wirelessly to my Arris router provided by Comcast, my service provider. I have talked with several TiVo support people and also with Comcast and have reset my router twice but I keep getting NO6 errors. I use WEP security and have entered the password correctly but no joy. Any ideas?
My Premiere has not connected to the Tivo service since 11/14 which I believe was the day that it downloaded the service update. I've spent hours with Tivo chat support, rebooting and resetting and still no dice. I've just been told that it's a known issue that will hopefully be fixed soon.
I could live with apps not working as I have a Roku, but I'm about to run out of guide data for recording, and then it's going to be totally useless.
My service plan just happens to renew next Tuesday. Anyone have any info that should keep me from just cancelling it? Very very frustrated with Tivo!
So, just noticed this
while checking Roamio prices at Amazon. Someone clearly doesn't know what they're doing. I was even more surprised to see it was being sold by Amazon, and not a 3rd party seller.
Can a TiVo Mini be set up to ONLY watch recorded shows from the host TiVo (or other TiVo's in the house)? In one of our rooms for the kids, I was thinking of adding a Mini, but don't want to tie up an additional tuner for live TV in that particular room. Thanks!
He finally agreed to appear in an anniversary special. (Chills ran through my body as soon as I heard his voice.)
I don't know why Eccleston wasn't a part of this though.
Still not sure how they'll wave away the regeneration limit.
How do I setup a subscription to a video podcast on the roamio? I don't seem to be able to find an option for it anywhere. I can find the tedtalks in the search in the find shows, but setting a season pass for it doesn't actually add it into the download manager stuff. It just ignores all new episodes... I can see it in the web video hotlist too, where it also doesn't seem to have a way to setup a subscription. So how do I set this up? I cannot find the rss feed thing, which the older tivos seemed to have, and the search itself doesn't seem to return any useful results.
The other issue is it doesn't seem possible to download/subscribe to youtube subscriptions either?
So as you can see from my post I have a 5 year old Panasonic TV. When I turn on my Netgear Neo TV streaming device my TV auto switches to that input. This does not happen for anything else I own, including a Denon receiver, Roku, Western Digital Live streaming device, HTPC,, older Panasonic Blu-ray player and of course my 4 TiVos. Most of my stuff is actually connected directly to the Denon receiver but I tested everything (except the TiVos which do not have an on/off) plugged into an HDMI port on my TV and the only thing that does this is the Netgear Neo TV.
Can someone tell me what this function is and why it only works with the Netgear Neo TV?
I wonder if anyone else has notice this issue. I use the 30 second skip feature (select - play - select - 30 - select) which used to actually skip 30 seconds quickly, now it appears to do a fast forward which takes longer than the previous skip.
On the Roamio, "what to watch now" links always take me to the recommended show. On the Minis, it's hit or miss. Sometimes the link just goes to some (apparently) random channel.
