After purchasing a new Roamio Plus and adding a MoCA adapter to my old Premiere I am finally able to transfer and stream shows between boxes and to my phone and iPad without too many problems. This was not the case with wireless as it is apparently too slow for reliable transfers and streaming even though TiVo continually touted these features.
Why has it taken so long for MoCA to be added to TiVo boxes and cable? I wasn't aware of MoCA until I got the Roamio but I think it's been around for awhile. Does it just take time for providers to catch up or did it just take some time for MoCA to be tested? Just wondering. So far I think it's great.
What are my options for getting HBO GO given that it isn't available on the Roamio? Should I look at something like a ROKU that would plug right into my TV? Something else?
I purchased Tivo Steam to use with my Premiere.
Does the Stream have to be connected directly to the router? Or can I connect through a network switch which is connected to router?
I tried the network switch first and it did not work. Then the router direct which worked.
Anyone able to use with a switch? If so, is there a particular feature of the switch I need to be aware in order to use with Stream?
Please let me know. Thanks.
I'm interested in converting an existing .flv video that I have from the web into a format that I can use with my Tivo (I have a Premiere and a Romaio).
Most of the google searches seem to indicate that a product called Videora made a Tivo converter - I downloaded that; but it really only works with AVI to Tivo -- not flv.
Is there any product that will help with this conversion?
Thanks so much!
My Premiere is giving up the ghost and I am nervous about cloning from the drive... Bare metal seems to be the way better option at this point.
We recently moved from a house with cat5 to most rooms to a house without. I did some research and found MOCA as a potential solution for stable network bandwidth. Therefore, I have setup a MOCA network to use with our Tivos (non moca embedded) using Actiontec adapters. We are in Omaha and have Cox as our provider. We have HBO, Starz and MoviePak premium packages and some of these channels tune and some do not. The MOCA network is working but I am struggling with these premium channels (all other channels are fine), which I assume is an issue with the tuning adapter and SDV. Can anyone offer advice on their setup. It would be greatly appreciated. I am about to abandon MOCA or Cox Premium packs at this point. Attached is a layout of my current setup. Thanks Much. - Ken
Hello! I've been having trouble with my Cisco STA1250 tuning adapter. My cable company is Cox Communications.
I recently got a TiVo Roamio as a gift. I installed it and it's working fine.
I contacted the cable company card and ordered a CableCard and Tuning Adapter. I went to the store and picked both of them up.
The tuning adapter green light won't stop blinking. I have contacted Cox and they have sent two techs over but they haven't been able to fix the problem.
What should I do? Without the tuning adpater I am missing lots of channels I should be getting.
This is very frustrating. Thanks!
I have my new Roamio up and running and need to activate the calling card. I've already wasted several hours on the phone w/ Comcast. My local Comcast says the card is already activated, the 800-Comcast clowns say they're unable to "Register" or "Add" the card to my account.
Now I'm wondering if maybe I'm not getting a video signal over the coax. Should I be seeing the standard non-encrypted channels without the cable card?
Please help me retain the small bit of sanity I have left....
Thanks in advance,
TiVo's $49.99 Over-the-Air DVR and Streaming Solution to Roll Out Nationally
Excerpted from: http://investor.tivo.com/phoenix.zht...cle&ID=2004723
TiVo Inc. , a leader in the advanced television entertainment market, today announced that following a successful limited edition launch of the TiVo Roamio OTA DVR last fall, the company will be making the product widely available in the U.S. market. The TiVo Roamio OTA DVR brings the award-winning TiVo experience to those who do not have cable or satellite service, yet still want an all-in-one DVR and streaming solution.
Reading through the "Best One Season" thread inspired me to start this thread. What are the best pilot episodes you've seen? (Even if the series didn't turn out to be so good.)
Here are the pilots that have really grabbed me and made me feel like I couldn't wait for the next episode:
In other CES / TiVo news, it's still showing off the network DVR concept that we loved -- but no cable companies have bit on yet -- and have added the ability to stream its cloud TiVo service to Chromecast and Roku. The mobile apps have upgrades coming too: iOS gets OnePass support in February and "premium sideloading" (the ability to transfer recordings from premium channels like HBO that in some cases had been blocked until now) soon.
On Android a completely rebuilt native app is coming soon, and OnePass is expected in March.
Surprised no one at all has started this thread. I love watching it to see how crazy, stupid, drunk, psycho they can all be.
And we definitely will be getting some of that this season.
Note, for those that like comedy and consider watching this, Jimmy Kimmel will be on, I think, one or two episodes. He's a big fan (or maybe ABC really likes to cross-promote). Should be interesting.

Have a Tivo Premiere XL (4 Tuner Model) that was purchased directly from Tivo in November 2013 with Lifetime service.
Everything was working fine until Sunday 1/4 when while recording three shows simultaneously, the Tivo rebooted. When the reboot finished, an error T63 appeared that the service needed to be activated.
I tried (re)activating it via online and could not as the message stated the account was already active. I have manually reconnected to the Tivo service at least 10 times now over the past couple days and each time it seems to receive a payload and load/organize it . After multiple restarts, it keeps showing the same error.
I have called Tivo Customer Support twice and each time they walked me through the basics and finally have opened a trouble ticket. While waiting for a response (indicated to be 3 to 5 business days), has anyone else encountered this situation?
Thanks in advance.
are you freaking kidding me !
Hi folks, was talking to a friend about a show and its driving me crazy! Help!!
I dont know if its still on... it was always on "deep cable", the Tru tv's and such of the world, usually on late into the night.
Its a guy, with spiky blonde hair. He always goes to weird events like mud bog races, red dress runs, etc, with a lot of debauchery... he went to enough of these kind of events that some folks would almost always recognise him...
I swear the name is like up all night or some such. Its driving me crazy! Help! lol
When I search for a movie through TiVo, I see the option to rent/buy from Xfinity (Comcast is my cable provider) and Vudu but not Amazon. Is there a fix for this?
I just finished watching the premiere 2-hour episode of Agent Carter. This show is magnificent and Hayley Atwell and the show deserve all of the rave reviews that they have received. I have a strong feeling that this will be a wildly successful miniseries for ABC and MARVEL.
Did anyone else watch it live?
I have a question about the TiVo Slide Remote Pro
. Does the direct keyboard input on the remote work when inputting text in the apps like YouTube or Amazon Prime? Those apps present a QWERTY graphic where the user must cursor left/right/up/down to select letters...
Thanks in advance,
I have several Tivos and also have xfinity home security and some cameras. Comcast advertises that you can view the cameras on your TV. I can't do this -or haven't figured out how to do it via my Tivos. I don't have a comcast box and don't want one. I am curious as to whether there is a way to monitor my xfinity cameras on my tv using a TiVo or whether I'm out of luck without a comcast box.
So I have one of those tuning adapters that need to be reset every so often. The period seems to be about once a month.. Usually I can tell it is time to reset when those nasty SDV channels stop responding for a little while. It is not an all out collapse though. It will continue to kind of work for a few days before it just dies...
When this starts to happen, I start to notice that some of my shows are not recorded. On the history page, it will just say 'No Signal'. The thing is that the signal does come back but the Tivo does not check it again after it tries at the very beginning of the show. Other times, the signal will cut out in the the middle of the show and then immediately come back. But when the signal cuts, Tivo Roamio Plus stops recording and does not know to try again. Is there a way to set it up so that Tivo will try again and record the show if it can't find the signal at the beginning or in the middle of the show??
A few years back when I had Verizon Fios, I noticed that their DVR would try again if the signal cut out. Some brilliant genius decided that it was a good idea to send that emergency broadcast signal at 10:30pm. It ended up cutting my shows into two recordings since the initial recording would stop but it would immediately continue again after the emergency signal was gone... With my Roamio Plus, the recording would stop after the emergency broadcast signal and not start up again after the signal ended...
