Want to try the free game of the day the app is no where to be found any tips?
I have all of my movies stored on my Time Capsule, and I've been playing them via a jailbroken AppleTV for the past while. I was just wondering if there's any way to do this via TiVo so I don't have to change inputs so often if I just want to watch a movie. Anyone have a good solution for doing this?
Is there a setting that would allow me to see what year I recorded some shows? I've had some shows since I first got my Premiere and was just curious what actual year I recorded them. I can only see the month and day from the info screens.
I am considering adding an external storage/hard drive. Just wondering what the latest is as far as potential Premiere issues. I seem to recall that many folks were less than enthused when they first added theirs.
Also, since the Premiere is now considered "Old" what should I expect to pay for a hard drive unit and where would you recommend I shop for one?
I streamed my first episode of Game of Thrones through the TiVo last night. Prior to this, I had watched all the episodes via HBO GO on my Roku. I was surprised to see that the Xfinity version had a "Previously on Game of Thrones" segment at the beginning. This is not the case with the HBO GO version, but I assume it is included when the show airs live each week. Given all the stuff going on in this show, the recap definitely comes in handy. Interestingly, Xfinity inserted a commercial for "Silicon Valley" at the beginning. I was able to fast forward through it, however, so it was no big deal.
As for the picture quality, they both look good, but I think the HBO GO version may be a bit sharper. I'm not sure which I prefer at this point, but it's always nice to have choices. :)
Well, looks like things are getting more tense around the "Keen" household. Lots of backstabbing and roughing up of folks. Things are finally getting a bit more exciting.
As for the Milton story, it was pretty "Meh" in my opinion. And in typical fashion, it was easily wrapped up with the "just in the nick of time" style.
Not sure about your area, but in my area (DFW), Verizon stores are all wireless now.....NO FIOS. So you can't pickup a cablecard at the store any longer...you have to order it online and pay $19 shipping/handling.
Was thinking of getting a NAS of some kind and see how Netgear ReadyNAS products work with TiVos. Is this still true and they are still supporting it for TiVo? Or is this for past Netgear products? Just trying to see if they are worth it since I have several Series 3 and 4/Premiere TiVos.

I just (finished yesterday 03/30/2014) upgraded my Premiere with a 2 TB WD20EURX using jfms and all went well.
This afternoon, kmttg and iPad app couldn't see that TiVo, but could see the other one, so I took a look and sure enough.... it was restarting.
After the restart, it had absolutely no Guide data and so it had no To Do list until after connecting to the TiVo Service, which I did right away. The connect was fairly quick, but the load took 30 to 40 minutes. Does that seem long? After that, the Guide and To Do was back, and it recorded 3 season pass shows correctly tonight.
Now for the odd part, yesterday (before the restart) it was 7% full, and now it is 15% full. As I look at the shows that weren't there yesterday, they are all shows I have season passes for, and they could have all been in the Recently Deleted folder. Has anyone seen this happen before, the restart, reload of guide data, and resurrection of Recently Deleted content?
Is there something I should be watching for or concerned about?
Is there somewhere on the TiVo that I can track restarts, issues, etc....?
I recently purchased a used tivo hd from eBay, which was reported to be "in good, used condition" & functional. Upon getting it all set up on ota digital antenna only, the recordings freeze, do not play & then the tivo begins to reboot. After a few moments on the welcome screen, it flashes over to a blank gray screen with no remote response at all. It must be unplugged to reboot. Any ideas? HDD? PSU? Mobo? I do not wish to shotgun pays until it works as intended. If there's multiple causes for this symptom, I'd prefer to contact the seller to return it & either try another unit or just do an XBMC PC.
No threads so far for this season? Is anyone else still watching?
I'm not enjoying it as much this season. It's still a good character study, but this season it feels less like Twin Peaks and more like a soap opera.
What is the best platform for streaming Netflix? Tivo, Apple TV or Sony Blu-Ray
I normally don't go for episodes like this one, but I thought it was really well done. I liked watching the emotional rides that the characters went through, even including David Lee's emotional moment.
I liked how strong Diane was in handling that client meeting. I'm not sure that was realistic that would have been, but I liked seeing her channel her emotions like that.
The final imagining of Will's voice message to Alicia makes me wonder how Alicia is going to deal with the relationship with Will. She was already showing some coolness to Peter.
From the preview:
The preview makes it pretty clear that there is going to be some lingering impact with Peter from her relationship with Will now that he's dead.
Pharrell Williams. Don't know much about him, other than seeing him mentoring last year and his Song "Happy"
Oh, and his Hat.
I went by the local Time Warner Cable office in order to get a TA and a CC. They went through the motions of looking for them and mentioning how Noone is using these things anymore . In the end they didn't find a working CC and they don't know when they'll be getting any more.
I asked if I could order from Time Warner themselves over the phone. They said I could try.
This is disappointing service from a local office that has been great over the last few years I've had to go by for their help.
only one hour long, despite the title
hoping they meet before the last 5 minutes
I've got a relatively new Roamio basic that we use just for OTA stuff. It has been working great for several weeks, but this morning I got a totally black screen with a horizontal green bar covering about the top 10% of the screen. (I'd post the image, but I'm new here and the system won't let me yet.)
The audio was coming through okay, but the black screen with the horizontal green bar at the top is all that was present on every channel, SD or HD.
Menus worked OK, with the green bar changing to taking up about the top half of the small window in the upper-right upon opening the TiVo menu.
Power-cycling the unit cleared the problem, and all the channels began working normally again. This has only happened once so far, but I'm concerned about it eventually becoming a problem. I hate flaky electronics.
Has anyone else experienced this behavior before, or does anyone have a recommendation? I suppose I ought to complain to TiVo, too, but the more detail I can give them, the better.
Hello all. I'm the new guy here so try not to be to hard on me. :-)
I recently cut the cord and am going with OTA only which means the basic Roamio box. I've searched this forum a lot and would like to thank everybody for the wealth of knowledge I've gained. But I'm sure I missed some things along the way so I'd like to ask a couple of questions.
I have a $75 coupon code for the box from Tivo which would make the purchase price $125. But it appears if I use that to purchase the box then there is no way around the $499 lifetime fee. I spoke to them again today and that is their "best" deal...today. So, if I understand correctly from reading here, I could supposedly buy the box from a 3rd party discounter for $175 and use the PLSR code when activating to receive the $399 lifetime offer. This would still save me $50 over what Tivo is offering. However, when I tried to use this as leverage to get a better deal from the Tivo CSA today she told me (after conferring with her supervisor) that the PLSR code was no longer valid. Now she had never heard of the code before and it was her supervisor who confirmed that yeah, it did exist, but not anymore.
So if I haven't confused you to this point, does anybody know if the PLSR code is still valid or if there is a way to know for sure without actually buying a box and ultimately having to return it if the code doesn't work?
Thanks for any help you can provide. :)
I was worried about whether or not "Rick and Morty" should be recording as new tonight. I *think* it was swapped out and not all sources of listings have updated their info. I checked the [adultswim] schedule and it does appear to be a repeat.
The next ep should be "Close Rick-counters of the Rick Kind" according to Wikipedia's page for "List_of_Rick_and_Morty_episodes" (I can't post links yet) as well as IMDB.
The listings at Futon Critic show it as new, as does TVGuide online (with their new web interface which i hate, but i digress). However, the grid on zap2it has a repeat of "Raising Gazorpazorp".
Thank you, TiVo, for staying current. Upcoming weeks don't show any titles, but my season pass is going to grab them. (Now I wonder what's happening with the schedule. The show has already been renewed for a 2nd season.)
