So I have noticed for the last few weeks when I attempt to set up a season pass....I get the blue spinning ring for a few seconds...and then nothing. No season pass. I called TiVo technical support and was told that this is a know issue and it would be addressed with an upcoming update.
first of all...can anyone confirm this?
second, I have been having this issue fo well over a month...i guess I find it hard to believe they would let this go on for so long.
are there any know work arounds aside from scheduling individual recordings?
I seem to keep losing my connection (on a regular basis) to the HOA provided Internet. It is not the fastest Internet connection, but I do have a very strong and very solid signal. TiVo Help has walked me thru the process of re-connecting using my laptop. First I had to disconnect from the Internet, plug the adapter into the laptop's Ethernet port and then type "192.168.10.1" in the address bar. Re-connecting always worked, but the connection only lasted about 3- 4 weeks.
The Premiere has a "N" adapter which plugs into the Ethernet port.
My "backup" TiVo Series 2 recently died. It never had a problem staying connected. It used the "G" adapter which used a USB connection.
I did notice that there seemed to several channels to choose from when I went thru the re-connect process.
Maybe connecting to a different channel?
Maybe using the TiVo Series 2 "G" adapter in the Premiere?
I have TiVo 1P set for New only Mythbusters on Science channel 1102.
I saw in My Shows todays episode had ! & said will be deleted w/in 24 hours.
My HDD is only 39% full. I check To Do list & see 29 episodes set to record on Sunday! WTF?! There is a Mythbusters marathon on Science channel. So, I assume TiVo is planing on deleting the new episode recorded today once the 10 episode limit is reached in under 24 hours. I double check & in the guide each marathon episode tomorrow does NOT state New & each says originally aired
& gives date which are all over a decade ago. So, TiVo is being told these are not new yet, plans to record them anyway ignoring my settings. I force a connection with the server & successful yet, no change. TiVo still says will delete my new episode in <24 hrs. & still has 29 rerun episodes set to record tomorrow.
I shut off my system to post this & as I typed, I turned it back on to triple check that marathon reruns do not say new either in guide or in To Do list & to my surprise they are all gone. TiVo no longer is set to record any of these reruns! However, it still says will delete that new episode recorded today in <24 hours.
My TiVo has been operating more than 28 days.
Hi. I am setting a Tivo Mini with a Moca network. During the download of updates during the set up process, all the tv's in the house had severe pixelation and took several minutes and unplugging the Mini in order for the pixelation to stop. Is this a problem that could have been caused by the network itself or the Mini updating?
Thank You in Advanced.
The last update broke my Roamio and COMCAST VOD.
VOD has worked fine for over a year.
Symptom is it starts to launch and goes to the Cable Card status screen. I cancel the screen and it returns to the VOD screen with "resume" or " play from start" options. Neither works.
You know.... Lather, rinse, repeat.
Anyone else confirm? I'm in Berkeley, CA.
I have reseated the card, rebooted, etc. No other issues with the CC.
I posted this question in the "Tivo Help Center", perhaps I Should've done it here instead, so hear it goes: How can I stream from a Premiere or a Roamio to a laptop rather to an IOS or Android device?
Having problems trying to figure out my new XL4.
I have ClearQAM with Verizon FIOS.
I have no boxes or cable card and my TV's have no problem scanning, mapping, and displaying all the channels.
The Tivo XL4 does a channel scan, finds then, seems to map them as they have all the channel ID, and I get guide data.
But when I go to view them, nothing???
Is using a cable card required to get XL4 to work ?
None of my other 6 tuners in the house any any problems.
Is it possible to stream shows to a laptop like it is to an IOS or Android device?
I was going to start a thread titled "YT Videos Not Looking Right" but I can't attach the screenshot to show you what I see. :-)
I have my activation code from 4 years ago. I just need the software to install. Do I have to buy it again?
Lately when I try to use the Comcast Ondemand when. I start a show say on HBO runs about 5 seconds then freezes. I have to Restart Tivo to get it to work again. Is this a common problem?
Interesting article about the new HBO streaming service. It suggests the product will be offered as a premium service with a price between $15 and $20 a month.
Okay, let's say TiVo were to add the option of both streaming apps. HBOGO that requires a cable subscription and HBO streaming that requires a separate premium subscription.
What would you choose? Would you drop HBO from your cable company and switch to streaming only or would you keep your linear service?
What if they only added the Premium service? Is the on demand service more enticing than the old linear product?
This is an interesting look into the future I'd content distribution.
I have a Premiere. I get the offers to upgrade to Roamio. The features sound pretty attractive. However I bought the life time service for the Premiere. I just can't rationalize paying for it again. Suggest you reconsider your pricing policy.
Kayak is an aggregator for various travel websites, i.e. airlines, hotels, car rentals. Today we are seeing more and more original content from sources like Netflix and Amazon. It is easy for the viewer to loose track of favorite programs. Is House of Cards on Netflix or someplace else? When does the new season start? Life would be much easier if this original content were covered by a Season Pass and showed up automatically in My Shows.
On our Tivo Roamio we have several web shows such as CNET web shows that show up in our Now Playing list but when we try to watch them we get a message that says 'Error playing a recording. The tivo box was not able to record this program..'. When we then try to delete the entry from our now playing list it looks like it is successful ( 'X' next to title), but it never disappears.
As a result we now have like 10 entries in our list that are rogue.. just hanging out there, taking up room, very disconcerting visually at the least.
Anyone have any suggestions for getting rid of these?
Why in the world did OnePass remove the Everything (aka Record All With Duplicates) option?
This is needed:
1. If you have intermittent reception issues with a channel that shows the same program multiple times per day (but never again after that, and it's never available from streaming services), it was very useful to record all the showings, and then watch the one with best reception.
2. If the program guide does not distinguish between episodes (at all, or accurately).
3. If the channel has a history of preempting one showing or another due to breaking news or whatever, but has several showings a day and it's likely that at least one of those will not be interrupted.
I don't understand why this had to be removed when OnePass was added. It was a very useful feature in certain circumstances, even if not everyone used it and not everyone who used it used it often.
Can this feature please be added back in the next update?
Could someone explain to me how the channel buffer and tuner selection work on Tivo Roamio? For some reason I'm just realizing this issue now, but say for instance I'm watching Channel A and a commercial comes on. I go to the guide and tune to channel B. After 10 minutes channel B has a commercial and I change back to channel A. I want to rewind channel A because I've missed part of the show, but there is no channel buffer!! I have 6 tuners, shouldn't they all be buffering for at least 30 minutes on the most recently watched channels? I've tried searching about this, but all I find is "hit the record button." Well, sometimes I don't realize I want to return to that channel if I'm just channel surfing. Not only that, but why should I have to hit record? Why don't the most recent tuned channels stay buffering for 30 minutes?
Along these same lines, how/why does Roamio choose to keep certain channels on each tuner? I would think it would keep the most recently watched 6 channels on the tuners and buffer each for 30 minutes. I'm hoping there may be an easy fix to this because it's becoming very frustrating. Is there a secret menu or programming that I can do to change this?
So is the Tall Man Mr. Jones?
Very recently I've come to an issue where Glee will SAY its recording (only show recording) and when I try to play it, it won't play the play button just doesn't move and its a black screen. I know the channel is authorized because I can watch it on the tv but want to catch up from the beginning. Once the show is done "recording" it disappears from my history. Anyone know or have any ideas?
So, yeah.... I just wanted to give a quick shout out to my three TiVos that we're actively using in our house. All were purchased brand new, and all have been working non-stop since first plug-in. Oh yeah, and all three have had Lifetime since new:
We start with our first-ever TiVo, purchased and first activated on 12/31/2001...a Series 1 Sony SVR-2000. Working for over 13 years, It has only needed one new hard drive, and a replacement remote when the original one finally gave up. It is STILL on dialup (!!!), and residing in my MIL's room who lives with us. "Backwards-connected" to a Comcast Digital Adapter (so the TiVo remote changes the channel on the adapter, not the other way around, so we can use the TiVo remote instead of the little Comcast adapter remote), it continues to chug away, and dial out over our Vonage network.
#2 is our TiVo Series 2, a Sony SVR-3000 that we picked up during the liquidation sale at "Nobody Beats The Wiz", and activated on 3/27/2003. Also receiving a new hard drive, and getting a new remote last week, it is also connected in the same way to a Comcast Digital Adapter. This is our bedroom TiVo.
#3 is the "modern" TiVo, connected to a 60" flat-screen TV in our family room, the original Series 3 (THX-Certified) TCD648250B. It was activated 2/25/2007 (it's, like, BRAND NEW compared to the other ones!), and has received a new hard drive and power supply. It's using two "S" cable cards from Comcast (remember, this was the only TiVo that couldn't use an "M" card...) and can stream back and forth from my Series 2 upstairs. Downloading from Amazon Instant Video works great on those two as well.
I was looking at the 10-year deal to get a new Romio, and two TiVo Minis, but, frankly, everything now is working perfectly... Lifetime has paid for itself over and over on all three boxes, and I can't justify making the switch right now.
So, for a TiVo user that's been with TiVo for over 13 years, and STILL using the same TiVos, I want to take the time to THANK those legacy TiVos for doing such a great job all these years!!! (I think they can hear me talking about them.....!)
