I have a TiVo Premiere XL4 & a TiVo Premiere. One will have access to ethernet, the other wont.
Do I need two MoCa adaptors or just one? Yes I looked at https://www.tivo.com/shop/detail/moca
and I'm not quite getting it.
My goal is for the non-wired TiVo to be able to stream in real time or better. Right now, they are in rooms with ethernet and the transfer speed is nearly 4X real time. When I go WiFi, the speed is .6-.7. For what it's worth. After the move, as I said, the room it's going to isn't wired.
Nobody's watching? I found this to be mesmerizing. I really enjoyed the pilot episode of this new AHS.
I used to use a HTPC. Now, I will need to spend $100-$150 to replace a couple of parts, so instead of that, I thought I would use the Tivo Roamio OTA because it seemed to do what I want. Instead of recording 2 things at once, I can record 4. But, I think I just made a huge mistake buying a Tivo, but before I see if I can return it and cancel my service, I thought I would check here to see if there is anyway to mod the Tivo Roamio OTA to get it to do what I need.
1. I have an Amazon Prime Membership and want to steam the free video content.
2. I want to access Hulu not Hulu Plus. That is I want the free content part of Hulu, not the mostly useless paid part.
3. I want to be able to steam videos from my computer to the Tivo. I prefer not to convert the format from Divix.
4. Have access to Crackle, but this is not a requirement. The first two on the list are pretty much deal breakers.
Are there any hacks that are going to work, or do I need to see if I can cancel Tivo and fix my HTPC?
Charter's new all digital just came to our area and now requires us to use the digital cable boxes with our Tivos. Hooked up the boxes (Cisco Explorer 4640 HDCs) to the TV and attached the IR Blaster cables...only nothing is working.
I read that Cisco bought Scientific Atlanta, so I tried the Scientific Atlanta codes, but they didn't work.
Anyone able to get this work work? I read that some people were able to get the box to work with the 00018-B code, but that isn't working for me.
I have an iPad 1, and have used it for almost 2 years to download and stream shows via my TiVo stream. Recently it has stopped working with the stream. If I try to rerun the setup, it finds the stream on the network but errors out during step 1 where it checks the software version. Each time I try, I get "Setup Problem" and the message "Setup did not complete successfully. Please try again." I have tried a variety of things such as rebooting the iPad and stream.
My iPhone and my wife's iPad mini still work fine.
It leaves me thinking that iPad 1 has fallen off the support matrix. Though iOS 5.1.1 is still listed as the minimum requirement.
The iPad is running the latest versions of iOS and the TiVo app that is available for it. Of course both of those are older versions since iPad 1 support from Apple is limited now.
TiVo app 3.2.3
TiVo stream 19.1.7-01-6
Is anyone still using an iPad 1 successfully?
Came home from work yesterday and TiVo was showing a V 52 error (no signal)checked my cable going into the coacts input everything was fine still got the v 52 error then swap the lines with the cable modem and the TV still no signal on the TiVo but had signal still on the cable Internet is the mocha coacts input toast on my TiVo? Or it might just be a cable card related issue since there are no other signal issues with the cable on that level of the house I even tried rerunning guided set up and that didn't help. any suggestions?
Pretty good episode, especially the sheep. :)
I liked the firefighters but they did not seem like they would last long. "We should have asked at a museum not a bar" would have been good episode title.
I am already tired of the dentists-- especially if they will be one of those teams where one person does all the work. (Can anyone confirm if splitting roadblocks is an actual rule this year?)
Second time it's been cancelled. Not a surprise, nor will it be particularly missed by me. Poppy kept me coming back, though the rest of the show always had me thinking I should delete the SP. Now I can...though I did once before and the show came back.
I just recently switched back to tivo from my cable provider as i wanted to be able to record 4 shows at once. It appears only 2 tuners are working properly and not sure where to go as i havent received any help from either end. My SNR is 34-36ish on all 4 tuners, but it seems tuners 2 and 4 are having issues, the rs uncorrected fluctuates from 18-67 million when on any channel other than the local channels. If i put all 4 tuners on local channels they work ut 1 gets very pixelated. If i tune them to anything other than local they go out and the snr fluctuates from 6-25dbs.
Good episode. I liked the actors involved in the bomber storyline.
So Michaela and Conner have similar tastes in men. Conner had his claws out in this episode. The lost ring -- it was visibly cold but her ring seemed to come off too easily. Perhaps it was a Freudian Slip.
It was hard for me to believe that Annalise trusted her former boyfriend with the task of checking out hubby. She was responsible for him being on probation and he clearly said he wanted no more of her. This won't end well.
I have a Series 2 DT unit that has been working fine for the last several years that suddenly won't connect to the TiVo service. I spent a couple hours in chat with a support person who wasn't able to solve the problem. I've tried connecting with both network and phone, both fail. Here's what I've done so far:
- restarted the TiVo, switch and router
- verified that other TiVos in the house are connecting successfully
- verified that the network connection is good (plugged the cable into my laptop and verified that I could connect to web servers, etc)
- plugged this TiVo into the same jack that another TiVo uses that could connect to the service
- verified that I can ping the problem TiVo
- verified that I can connect to port 80 on the TiVo
- swapped network cables
- connected the TiVo directly to the router
- used static network configuration to make sure the IP, netmask and gateway are correct
- verified that the phone line had dial-tone and could make an outbound call
When attempting a network connection, I get the error code N13. When using dial-up, I get P07. The support person thinks it may be using an out-of-service phone number, but there's no way to verify that or change the number from within Guided Setup.
As an added bonus, the TiVo is currently in guided setup mode (my wife tried that to see if it would clear up the problem), and as far as I know, there's no way to get out of that until it connects to the TiVo service.
Is there anything else I can try?
After having tivo for years I finally moved away from tivo after the original series 3 in favor of an HTPC. Due to the high maintenance and the dreaded windows media center I am now looking into going back to tivo and getting a Roamio as it seems to be the box with it all.
Is there any way to stream content from a home media server running windows home server 2011 to the Roamio?
For anyone scheduling this new series SP (which starts on 10/18), these eps are showing up as not new with OAD sometime early in 2013. Guess this is another import show, so set new and repeats until or if they fix it.
For your consideration:
"While the pay TV sector did see its first ever annual decline on record last year when it lost 166,000 subscribers, cord cutting isn't enough to generate those kinds of channel viewership reductions. Instead, the lion's share of these losses are due to users flocking to smaller, less expensive bundles"
"Some TV executives tell the Journal that they're not that worried because they're recouping any financial losses in the form of higher retransmission fees. But as we've seen with recent reports about smaller and mid-sized cable companies backing away from offering TV entirely, and companies like Suddenlink refusing to pay retrans hikes, the status quo of profits simply isn't sustainable."
Since the fall update (I think) my Premiere no longer loads guide data automatically. When it runs out, every channel shows "To Be Announced", even though the box connected successfully less than 24 hours before. If I restart, the guide data shows up immediately, but a forced connection won't load the guide without a restart.
Tivo support suggested I repeat guided setup. After I did that all the channels were TBA and I had to restart, so I'm pretty sure the problem hasn't been resolved.
Anybody know what might be going on? I should mention that my Premiere is perhaps odd, but has never given me a problem before. I have both a Comcast M-card and an antenna connection with a 3Tb internal drive.
I'm trying to search this thread for answer Closed Captioning playback. I do transfering show back to TiVo box most of time (computer to tiro). I'm wondering if anyone have an experience with New Romaio that show CC when they transfer shows back to Tivo?
I own TiVo HD and Premiere (2-dual)
Closed Caption work with .mpg .tivo
Closed Captioning only work with .TiVo
Doesn't work other format .mpg , mp4
m4v mp4 mpeg? ts ? ?????
