Lately, my Netflix app has been taking very long to load. It will load the text and empty boxes fairly quickly and then take forever to populate all the boxes.
In addition when it loads, about half the time "My List" is nowhere to be found. Instead the first line is the "Recently Watched" section.
The major Boston channels are all on a single antenna in Natick, MA.
PBS (2.1 and 2.2), CBS (4.1), ABC (5.1 and 5.2) are all fine. NBC (7.1 and 7.2) is driving me crazy. The NBC channel is never not fragmenting enough so that you can watch it. The signal strength fluctuates between 55 and 36. We just moved the antenna and got it to go to a high of 63 ... it still broke up at the higher number.
We're about 12 miles from the antenna. The antenna is located outside on a balcony on the second floor. The concrete building is horseshoe-shaped in back of the antenna.
We also have the same problem with the CW Network (56.1 and 56.2) ... sister station of NBC.
Why is there not a consistent signal from those two channels and subchannels. Is this multipath?? Is there anything I can do about this??
A friend of mine has a Roamio Pro. Shortly after updating to 20.4.2, he's had nothing but problems.
Anything but watching TV and recorded shows results in a lot of blue circles. When it finally does come back, things go downhill from there.
Search doesn't work at all. After trying to enter the search terms, nothing comes back and eventually it returns a "search is temporarily unavailable" message. After trying again, it gives a C133 error and 'Search' and 'Browse TV & Movies' are greyed out.
Apps don't work either. Pandora, Netflix, etc. all return error messages related to network issues. The Netflix network test comes back successful.
The header banner in the guide and the now playing list isn't getting updated, but there's content there.
The TiVo iOS app never can connect to the Roamio. It gets a 'Box not responding' error.
Meanwhile, TV works fine. It gets guide updates and content is watchable on the mini. A network test works fine along with daily updates.
He called TiVo support, who had him run through some diagnostics and even run setup again. No luck.
He's a long time TiVo owner and is getting frustrated. Help!
I think that any of us, who watch this show, know by now that AD is moving to TBS for their 2014 season, right.
I was cruising through my 'to do' list (yeah, I do weird stuff like that) the other day and I saw an episode for Sunday, 9/14, on Fox TV, that is coded as a new episode. It says Season 10, Ep 1/2 and it's an hour long. The OAD is 9/14/14.
Does that seem weird? Am I seeing things? :D
Anyone else notice some wacky Guide information? Lately, I've been getting movie descriptions in Spanish on the Sony Channel. I've also encountered some shows listed at 3 plus hours when they clearly are not that long. The next listed show is already playing while the lengthy show is still listed.
While I understand that ESPN makes some last minute decisions on what football game they are going to air on which of its networks, the Guide is getting to be almost absurd in that far too many games are TBA until the day before or even the day of the actual game. At times, the game is accurately listed for replay later in the evening on ESPNU but not for the actual game time itself!
Tribune is getting sloppy.
Remember when netflix was easy to log into? When the Tivo displayed a six digit code, and you went on your computer or tablet and entered that on the netflix website and bam! your tivo and netflix account were paired. Now, you have to use the remote to type out every agonizing letter of the email address and password. And don't tell me to buy the slide remote, I shouldn't have to buy an extra accessory for convenience that used to be there. Does anybody know why they changed this? It used to be so nice when netflix broke to just unpair and re-pair just that easy.
WHen I connect my mini do I lose a tuner on my roamio permanantly of just when the mini is working?
I currently have a new Time Capsule (the AC tower version) and have it set to extend wireless networking to a couple of AirPort Express routers (1 of the older wall-plug style, and 1 of the current AppleTV sized style).
Both Express units report "Excellent" connectivity and are running on 802.11a/n at between 216 and 275Mb/s.
Would I benefit from upgrading 1 or both of those Express units to the new Extreme AC model? Would the Time Capsule to Extreme AC offer higher throughput?
The reason for this question is that I just purchased a TiVo setup and am experiencing some intermittent connectivity issues. Currently I have 2 TiVos connected to 1 of the Express routers via a switch. So the TiVos are not running wirelessly per se.
I know I can add a MoCA network to run the TiVos, but would rather accomplish via the AirPorts as I have other uses for the AirPorts anyhow.
Thank you in advance.
Just got my new mini. it will be connected to the roamio via ethernet. My question id will the HDMI feed a monitor with audio capabilities (audio over hdmi) or do I need a real TV for this?
Tnx in advance
Is anyone else having trouble with thier Channel line up from Santa Clarita? I have rerun the guided setup a few times on different TiVo boxes all with the same tragic results. I called TiVo over a week ago. They filed some claim ir ticket, but the issue still isnt resolved.
General PC hardware question.
I don't use an SSD drive in my Tivo but rather in one of my desktops to manipulate video content from another source. It's on 24/7.
I may may go a month or two by not using the drive, will I expand the drives life by disconnecting it when it's not in use?
Would I be better off getting a external PC esata enclosure and run did only when I need it?
With the hard drive experts, what say you?
The HG were really surprised at the double eviction twist, huh?
Christine got Brittney'ed and she was pissed about it. No hugs for anybody. Serves her right. If what she said in her exit interview that she saw it coming for a few weeks is true, she's an idiot for not switching sides.
Oh, and the audience booing? That surprised me a bit. Has the audience ver booed a HG before?
Frankie winning the veto could've destroyed Derrick's plans if Frankied had saved Christine. That would've been fun to watch.
I currently have two Tivo Series 3 units which I am replacing tomorrow with a Tivo Roamio and a Tivo Mini. I remember when I first got these Series 3 units that it required a tech to come on-site to install and configure them, has this changed? I'm hoping when the new boxes come tomorrow I can just pull the multistream card from one of my Series 3's, place it in the Roamio, and call up tech support to have it switched to the new box.. Is that how they do it these days or do I have to schedule an appointment with them to come onsite?
While I'm on the topic of cable cards, anyone know if the EXTREMELY ANNOYING "This channel is not authorized" message still randomly appears taking you out of what you're currently watching on the Roamios? Happens all the time on my S3 and drives me F'in insane..
I've been pulling my hair our trying to solve this . . .
I have a new Roamio Plus that streams perfectly to my iPad when I'm in my home connected to my home WiFi. When out of my home, the iPad won't connect to the box and/or returns errors that the Streaming Device (built into the Roamio) can't be found. TiVo wants to exchange the Roamio Plus, but I'm pretty confident it's not the equipment since it works perfectly connected to my home WiFi.
Today, I borrowed a friends *external* TiVo Stream. I connected it to my Network, and now the OOH Steaming works perfectly!
Any ideas as to why the External TiVo Stream Works? Should I just call it a day and buy an external TiVo Stream and chalk the whole thing up to some engineering issue between the internal and external TiVo Stream?
I welcome any feedback or suggestions. Thank you!
I have a TiVo Slider Remote that's a few years old. It's the one with the pull-out keyboard and connects through Bluetooth.
It doesn't seem as "zippy" as it used to be. It used to keep up with me as fast as I could press buttons. Does it get sluggish as it gets older or is this due to some software change?
I have a older Premier and I would like to setup the new remote that came with my Roamio box with the older Premier.
I thought lightning got my cable modem the other night. Bought a new one, but Comcast couldn't activate it. Moved the cable from the splitter/amplifier and plugged it directly into the cable modem. Voila, they were able to activate it.
So I did some troubleshooting and found that it wasn't the splitter/amplifier but instead the MoCA filter I bought from TiVo. Without the PoE filter, I was getting -3 signals but with it installed I was getting -18 to -20 with dropouts in signal to the modem.
For now I have the PoE filter off. Was about to order a new one, but just curious if there are any differences in brands. Not sure if some brands are better at letting more signal pass into the home, less out of the home, etc.
I have an old Series 2 Dual tuner I have been using with Time Warner cable, do I need a different TiVo unit to use either Direct TV or Dish? And secondly how successful has anyone been using their TiVo with satellite dishes? I switched to ATT U Verse a couple of years ago and though they told me I could use my TiVo that turned out not to be the case, so I switched back to Time Warner.
How close are the software versions between the 2? If the RCN Tivo gets Amazon prime instant video does that mean the generic Tivo could/will get it if the the version numbers match?

I've had a thing for Lea Thompson since BTTF, so I think I'll be watching. I think she has a ballerina background. I think Alphonso has a jazz/tap background, and a long time ago, I've seen him break dance.
