I kind of figured a non elim was due. I have grown to like Robbie, he's funny. Dentists are still the team to beat but the bikers are tough too.
I felt this was pretty good, up until Missy's master plan was revealed. The plan made little sense, especially compared to how the Master acted the last time we saw him. As such the ending was anti-climactic.
Also I'm fairly certain a single shot from a Cyberman isn't enough to kill a Time Lord as we've seen them survive being shot by a Dalek, so I don't think Missy is dead.
The ending was okay, with both the Doctor and Clara lying and pretending everything was going well for them. Not sure what to make of the Christmas episode having Santa Claus in it though.
Overall though a rather disappointing season.
Looking for some advice on the possibility of switching to Tivo for my Fios setup. I currently pay $79/mo on equipment alone (MRDVR, 3 DVRs and a plain HD box), or approx $950 annually. I like this set up and definitely do not want Quantum.
I was researching the Tivo Roamio with 4 mini boxes but realized that each mini uses one of the 6 tuners on the Roamio for live TV, which won't work for me.
My question is, would I be able to use 2 Roamios (I'd get a Roamio and a Roamio plus and 3 minis? If both Roamios can be seen by all the other boxes, this would be ideal.
I presume I'd need to pay a separate service fee for each Roamio ($300/year) to make this happen? Even so, with the cablecards, this setup pays for itself in approx 1 1/2 years and then I gain $500/year in savings (first year = $1050 hardware + $300 service + $120 cards = $1470, then $420 per year thereafter).
Will this work?
If so, what are the downsides to this versus Verizon's equipment?
Is the IMG the same? What about guide info? VOD?
Any pics would be awesome to see how it interfaces with Fios.
Who services these if there's an issue? I assume Verizon still supports their wiring into the house but what about a Tivo box issue?
Will my external drive work or will I lose all that I have recorded?
If I do this, do I just order a cable card and arrange with CS the return of all my equipment? I'm sure Verizon is not thrilled when this happens!
Thanks in advance!!
OK so the Roamio has generally been rock-solid, but I've seen two shows not scheduled to record now with 20.4.5 that should be recorded.
I have an ARWL for MotoGP Racing, which gets all the races and has done so reliably every year until today. I check the ToDo List pretty much every day and yesterday it was still showing as to be recorded, but got up this morning and it was missing from the list. Nothing changed in the guide from what I can see - it's still flagged as New with an OAD of today (11/9/14), but it for some reason the scheduler took it out of the list. Luckily I only missed the first 5 minutes of the race when I started it manually.
I have another SP set for Offbeat Eats with Jim Stacy on Cooking channel, and it recorded the first couple of shows. Noticed that no show was scheduled for this week, so I checked the upcoming eps and see that it normally airs on Friday night but moved to Thursday this week, but for some reason was not set to record. Same deal, shows as New in guide with correct OAD of 11/13/14. Had to record it manually too. Both of these issues came with New only set in the WL and SP btw.
So, anyone else seeing a show not record here or there because it's not being scheduled for no explainable reason? I have 77 or so SPs and WLs and they're all working except for these two all of a sudden, so it is a rare thing. But it is troubling not to know whether something's actually going to record, this is something I've always taken for granted.
Ever since the 2.4.5 update, pushing multiple episodes of a series now results in all of them displaying the same episode name, number and description. The tivo is ignoring the metadata for all episodes past the first and using the metadata from the first file sent for all of them.
This is new behavior. I have checked the medatdata and the pytivo logs and the correct data is being sent, just being ignored.
Anyone have any ideas on this? I cannot be the only one seeing this problem.
I have a Roamio Pro and three Mini's all with the latest upgrade 20.4.5.
The Roamio Pro and one of the Mini's show the Amazon Instant Video app but the other two Mini's do not. I have done connect to server and restarted a few times but still can't get it.
In, as I recall, the second episode, we see young Bruce drawing or doodling something with an ink pen.
What if in the TV show costumed heroes and villains never happen?
The villains, like Penguin and Riddler and the others in the legacy stable still become villains, they just never wind up in more than slightly out of the ordinary street clothes.
And Detective Gordon goes on fighting crime and all that, but Bruce, in a typical for a boy his age way, invents Batman on paper as a comics character, rather than waiting 'till he's grown to make him an alter-ego.
Or perhaps I should say invents Batman as a comics character alter-ego (able to fight the bad guys in ways that a barely turned teenage boy can but dream of being able to do), rather than later as a real-life alter-ego.
If the show stays on the air for a decade or so, they can decide whether to have Bruce decide to bring Batman to life or not.
I think I'd actually prefer this kind of reboot of the Batman story to waiting around to see how soon somebody shows up in tights and a cape, and frankly looking kind of silly in the 'noir' look they've given the show and the city.
But a Batcave would be perfectly acceptable.
Very disappointing! UFC Fight Night main event on Fox Sports 1, 11-8-2014, 8:30 PM was not recorded! TiVo DID record the UFC Fight Night prelims broadcast on a different channel, Fox Sports 2.
I checked History & says did not record. Reason (info); TiVo not authorized to get this channel (not true), Did not pay for this show (not a pay per view sporting event) or show not available in your area. (It was available & is still listed in the guide from 7 hours ago.)
I need to rely on TiVo to record shows I schedule.
Roamio Pro, 2 weeks old.
Thanks for any help,
Anybody else watching All-Stars?
Thursday night is one of my log-jam nights, so I've been watching on the xfinity TV Go app.
I keep thinking that All-Stars is no good because there's no Tim Gunn, but then they bring back designers I want to see again, so I'm screwed, and I have to watch.
Funny how it works. I usually dislike the designers I disliked before, and sometimes I also end up not liking the work of the people that were my favorites before. The big question is: will anyone surprise me? We'll see how it plays out.
Tonight, I brought up the guide, punched in a channel number, the Mini briefly froze, and then rebooted. After it rebooted, I punched in the channel number again and the Mini responded normally. The Mini is connected to my Romio Pro via Moca. The Mini is running 20.4.5 and has a MBT of 54 C.
Does the MBT seem reasonable?
I have a TiVo Roamio and experienced a recording error for the first time that doesn't seem due to live show overtime.
I have "Elementary" on Season Pass on CBS. The TiVo broadcast listings says 8PM Football and then "Fifth Quarter" at 11:30. Nothing in between. Then news. However CBS moved football to their Sports Network channel on Nov 6.
What my TiVo recorded at 10PM was an ep of "King of Queens" and half an hour of an infomercial. I did not discover this until tonight, Nov 8. I cannot determine where the TiVo picked up those particular shows from.
Did anyone else experience this? I can't find any other thread or Google topic.
Since I don't get Primetime on Demand (thanks TiVo  ), I had to buy the ep download from Amazon (sincere Thank You to Amazon )
Just trying to determine whether this was a unique programming glitch because of a screwup by CBS or TiVo and who to bitch to about it.
Anyone else been noticing missing guide data lately? For example: last week I was missing CBS Sunday Morning on both CBS affiliates I get--the night before I rebooted, forced a connection, and by morning the program was still missing, just a 1.5 hour hole in the schedule. Now I've just noticed that there was no 10 pm Saturday night show on NBC, and tomorrow the F1 pre- and post-race shows are now gone (and they had been in the TDL). I've also been noticing a day of data missing from several channels a few days in advance--that usually clears up in time.
I bought my Roamio Plus exactly a year ago and my 1-year contract is up. I was going to start another 1-year contract so I would pay $14.99 instead of $19.99. However, the customer service agent told me that I'm eligible to buy a lifetime subscription for $199 and $50 for each Mini box that I own.
Do you think this will be worth it?
I understand that I'll break even in about 15-16 months, but what I'm wondering is whether TiVo will offer me an even sweeter deal down the road (e.g., $100 lifetime deal after 6 more months, etc.).
Have anyone heard of them offering a better deal than this?
Thanks in advance.
I'm thinking about buying a mini for my old Standard Def television. Can the mini downconvert shows recorded on the Roamio in HD?
I have the Samsung HT F6500W home theatre system. I tried programming my Glo remote with the set up codes, using the learning function of the remote and even going through all of the codes stored on the remote. None worked. I called both Samsung and Tivo, no help.
Does anyone know the code for this Home Theatre system that will work with the Tivo remote?
Using Roamio Plus.
I have a support ticket open with Tivo, they can't figure it out.
Setup is successful, streaming inside home works fine.
no stream on 4G or an outside wifi network
Tried 2 devices: apple ipad, android S5
Same issue, error while streaming.
I have tried to manually open all required ports..still nothing
Anyone have some advanced things to try here?
Just a heads up.
New drama called 'The Game' has started on BBC America. The story takes place in 1972 London during the cold war. It's a six part mini-series.
In the secret world of espionage, the players are set and the fight to save Britain begins. A complex invisible war is being fought by skilled spies trained in the high stakes world of covert espionage. In 1972 London, tensions are at a terrifying peak as the worlds super powers plot against their enemies. The threat: a dangerous and deadly Soviet plot, designed to bring Britain to its knees, dubbed Operation Glass. This is where The Game begins a stylish, character-driven spy drama that explores the lives and lies of the invisible soldiers fighting a secret war.
I would find it wonderful if we could have Siri support for tha tivo app.
Of course the TiVo app would have to support apples new home connect kit and iOS 8
This would be wonderful for things like "change the channel to HBO" "pause the TiVo" "Record current ballgame" jump forward etc....
Dose the Romio's support this feature yet?
