Women’s Gymnastics captured the top spots for the most-watched moments on Day 4 of the Olympic Games. McKayla Maroney came to London so she could dominate the vault. Another highlight for American audiences was watching Russian gymnast, Anastasia Grishina, lose her balance while performing in the team artistic event. Americans gloated over the Russian team being brought to tears. Finally, between Maroney’s Continue Reading

Swimming finals dominated the most-watched moments during day 3 of the London Olympic Games, followed by men’s gymnastics. John Orozco’s pommel horse woes were perhaps the lowest moment for the USA Men’s Gymnastics Team and landed Orozco in the day’s TiVo Top Moments. Another disappointment for Team USA was John Lochte’s fourth-place finish in the 200m freestyle, missing the podium by a tenth of a second. However, not all TiVo Top Moments from day 3 were low points for Team USA: Missy Franklin’s performance in the women’s 100m backstroke – less Continue Reading

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (TBS & ABC Family)  The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air helped as an excellent transition into the 1990s and marked the on-screen start of rapper turned superstar Will Smith. Cable Conversion

Wed, 07/25/2012 - 16:53
During the past few months there have been a host of new series debuting on cable.  From the TNT remake of Dallas to the much ballyhooed return of, coincidentally, the king of Bally’s, Charlie Sheen, in Anger Management.  I tally twenty new series in all. Of course, that total does not include every new cable series.  Let me apologize upfront to some niche cable networks: you debut series more often than American Idol announces judges.  For the purposes of this analysis, I’ve limited my scope to the top rated new Continue Reading

TV This Week! 7/23

Mon, 07/23/2012 - 17:46

Take the opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and start watching some great new shows! Since we know you’re busy relaxing on the beach, laying out by the pool, or thrusting yourself in and out of the backyard sprinkler,  we’ve taken your TV watching needs into our hands (or should we say remotes?!). Continue Reading

90s Shows You Should Be Recording! Part 1 of 2

Fri, 07/20/2012 - 18:45
The 90s – this was the era of television that was simultaneously so cheesy, so controversial, and so groundbreaking. It is an era of TV that will live on forever in our hearts. From sitcom episodes that involved main characters rebeling against some type of authority, tamagotchis, “Harold and Maude” like relationships, cartoons with innocent political undertones, and most of all, a kid that had his head shaped like a football whose couch came out of his wall with the push of a button, this decade had it all. Here Continue Reading

AMC struck gold with the premiere of “Breaking Bad,” getting a record breaking 2.9 million viewers, which is the highest the show has ever received. “I AM THE DANGER” – Walter White.  After a jaw dropping season finale of AMC’s hit show Breaking Bad last October, we’ve spent the past few months re-living the first three seasons on Netflix instant, trying to assuage our withdrawal (no pun intended). Breaking Bad is finally making its epic Season 5 comeback this Sunday, July 15th. Creator Vince Gilligan and actors have said that this is going to be the craziest season that they have delivered thus far. There are only 16 episodes left and with its fresh, witty Continue Reading

Anger Management

Tue, 07/10/2012 - 08:35
Charlie Sheen is at it again! After being kicked off of his own hit show Two and a Half Men, Charlie took his anger issues all across the country on his infamous Torpedo Tour.  Screaming profanities and munching on Twizzlers in front of a live audience could only hold its appeal for so long before Sheen fans began to crave something more… relatable. Charlie may be an angry, self-proclaimed “battling warlock,” but he sure knows how to turn his shortcomings into charm on the TV screen. His newest sitcom on FX, Anger Management, Continue Reading

Tue, 06/26/2012 - 16:52
The start of the summer has included the return of two fan favorites, HBO’s True Blood and TNT’s Falling Skies, and we could not be more excited for what’s in store.  **SPOILER ALERT** Waiting nine long months for the return of True Blood was painful, but the season opener and seeing Detective Stabler trade in his badge for fangs in episode 2 were well worth the wait. Christopher Meloni (Law & Order: SVU) and fellow newcomer Christopher Heyerdahl (Sanctuary, The Twilight Saga) took on the difficult task of joining an Continue Reading
