Taking the Show Wherever You Go: TiVo Stream

Tue, 11/06/2012 - 09:00
I recently returned from a weeklong family reunion: there were five families and three generations in one house, including a dozen children under 19. During the week we were together, including one rainy day and night, I noticed that only the family members over 30 watched TV. Scattered among the children were two tablets, an iPod touch and lots of smart phones – and these devices provided all of the kids’ video entertainment for the week.  Just a couple of years ago, I recall our reunion included several nights of Continue Reading

One Brand, One Show

Sun, 10/28/2012 - 23:23
As originally seen on InteracTiVoty’s blog at  http://www.mediabizbloggers.com/interactivoty. Take one rugged outdoorsman used to getting his hands dirty, add a slightly spoiled car geek and throw them in the middle of nowhere with just a 4WD vehicle for them to save themselves. It’s Man v. Wild blended with a little bit of Monster Truck and it’s the Discovery Channel’s reality show “One Car Too Far.” I’ll admit I’m a sucker for any kind of programming involving problem solving and cars, so when I saw the promo with what looked to Continue Reading

Don’t Forget “The Classics”

Fri, 10/26/2012 - 14:07
Sometimes we just need to go back to our roots. Where’s the loveable goofiness of the Fresh Prince, our Friends in Manhattan always there for each other, or the circle of love and laughs from the ’70s? Okay, maybe The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Friends and That ’70s Show aren’t as old as the Brady Bunch or The Wonder Years, but they are still considered “The Classics” to many of us. Will Smith’s antics stretch from testing the limits of his rich and uppity uncle to trying to woo every Continue Reading

But what is the impact of the partnership on the average consumer? It’s actually more significant than you would probably Continue Reading

Why we are addicted to Homeland…

Fri, 10/12/2012 - 12:37
It is nearly impossible to write a spoiler free post on the Golden Globe and Emmy award winning show that has had critics talking since its Fall 2011 premiere. But, we’re going to try… Critics love Homeland, but even with all of its accolades and recognition, audiences still have not had the right introduction to the show. It was released originally when Breaking Bad was in the middle of its fourth season and the prime-time big network lineup was about to begin in late September. We must say, Season 2 is the best Continue Reading

Modern Family Questions!

Thu, 10/04/2012 - 15:00
The season four premiere of the popular sitcom left fans with many questions, ending similarly to the narrative format of JJ Abrams’ “Lost.” Fans shouldn’t worry though – this season will remain in the present and revolve around building up Gloria’s character as a mother to her first offspring with Jay. Here are a few questions that we want to ask: Haley is officially going to college. Will she make a guest appearance on the show like Sandra did on “The Cosby Show” when she was at Princeton or still Continue Reading
