Whoever designed the YouTube app at Google needs to take a close look at themselves. I find navigation the most frustrating experience. Same on my roku. Thankfully I have a second simple YouTube app on my roku . Seems the big companies like Google, Netflix and Amazon can't design apps and force the single experience on all platforms on us rather than letting good developers innovate. Shame. Sorry for venting. Love the roamio bar Netflix and YouTube and I know it's not Tivos fault.

Did you know that if you have ipad, iphone, android, pc, etc linked to your youtube acct along with the Tivo, you can do searches on those devices and then watch on the TV/Tivo.

Yes, thanks. I tried that for a while. But to be honest I just want to reach for the remote and navigate using a simple 4 arrow/select method. The simple Youtube App on Roku does that. A nicer looking version of that would be perfect. The current thing on Roku/Tivo (assuming all others) is just awful. I can't fathom how the app was released in the state it is in now. I would love to have the developers sit behind a mirror and watch 100 random users (from newbs to power users) attempt to navigate their piece of work. I think it would open their eyes.

I agree that the the YouTube app on TiVo/Roku is kinda hard to use. Not intuitive at all.

Being able to use my phone to "cast" to the YouTube app is kinda cool, but when I come home at night from work, my phone is nearly discharged and I need to put it on the charger; not take it into the living room.

I agree. In addition the YouTube app needs to have larger fonts. Even on my 55" TV the search criteria is too small. It would also be nice to have more of a grid-style menu vs the scrolling list. ...and why no Vevo-specific app?
