    OK, I guess you gotta be as old as me to remember watching Tom Terrific on Captain Kangaroo. I do.

    I really, really, liked it and I'm sure I saw every minute of it.

    I was thinking that it was pretty primitive 2D animation.

    What always amazes me is how slow-moving TV was in our day. The title sequence alone would have today's kids changing channels.

    This is why I almost get epileptic when I see just a minute of what's on the Disney channel.

    I used to watch it too, but by 1963/64 I think they had dropped the musical intro theme song.

    Do you remember "Fred" who lived on channel 1 of the Captain's TV?

    I remember! I loved Captain Kanagroo. I had the biggest little girl crush on Mr. Green Jeans.

    Watching the video, it's a hoot to see how they cheated and took tons of animation shortcuts. The backgrounds are usually empty.

    Tom (pointing off screen): "The wagons are being attacked by wild Indians."
    You barely see the wagons and they just disappear one by one. The power of the eraser - or running the cells backwards.

    I have a vague memory of Tom Terrific. Very vague, the funnel hat and the poof of hair is about all I remember.
