    Hi everybody,

I just recently finished my Windows Phone Tivo app, called Tivo Command. Its free, and I'd love it if you could give ot a spin and give me some feedback. You can see it in the Market Place, just search for Tivo Command.

Also, I'm planning on speech enabling it using the new speech APIs on Windows Phone 8. (Full disclosure, I work at Microsoft, and I'm in the speech team, the same team that also speech enabled the Phone itself, Xbox/Kinect, and many other Microsoft products).

If you'd like to be able to talk to your Tivo, reply in this thread with what you'd like to be able to say, and I'll try to include that in the Windows Phone 8 updated version of Tivo Command later this month.

    Let me know!

You should probably rename it, unless you actually licensed the name "TiVo."

I only have a Windows Phone 7 phone.. But I'll check it out.

Is it the software "TiVo Command" by ThinkingManSoftware?

Btw... Here are a handful of the commands I already have working on my Windows Phone 8 version of my app:
    • "Tivo, switch to AMC"
    • "Tivo, change to channel 104"
    • "Tivo, search on IMDB" ... "For what", TiVo asks ... "Breaking Bad"
    • "Tivo, what's on HBO tonight?"
    • "Tivo, when is the next episode of Dexter?"

What else would you like to see?

OK. The first speech enabled version of Tivo Command is ready to share with the world. As such, I made a video and posted it on YouTube here.

It should be live in the Windows Phone 8.0 Marketplace in about 5 days.

I'm curious what other commands people here think it should have...

    Let me know!

Wow. I was surprised at the maturity level and how well TiVo Command works with Windows Phone 8. Great video!

    Holy Crap, that is awesome!

Kudos, for all the integration points...

Does this still work? I thought m.tivo.com was deactivated...

Is this only for Phone? I have a Windows 8 tablet, but not a Windows phone.

yeah, this is for phone only.

I've been using the kmttg remote control from my windows 8 tablet. It works well, but is too small..

I've been considering making a version for Windows tablets, laptops, desktops, etc...

Would you think a "more or less" port job of Tivo Command as is would be good enough? There's no global speech experience to plug into, but I could probably get all the speech stuff working inside the app relatively easily.

    Let me know ...
