I have the premier, had for about 1 year and it died, luckily I had the extended insurance. I have had the new one now for about 6 weeks and would like to get the lifetime on it but am afraid of this one dying.

If a tivo dies within the warranty period, and has a lifetime attached, will the replacement automatically be put under the lifetime?

Fearing another dead tivo is keeping me from getting the lifetime.

    Any opinions?

    Thanks

Yes, Lifetime is xfered, would be no point to the warrenty if you had to pay another $399 for the Lifetime Service as the TP hardware only costs from $50 to $150 new.

If you've had the new one for 6 weeks already, you should have transferred the lifetime long ago.
