The suits that run the company, not the product. Yet another reason...

I see Tivo is changing prices yet again. The box is more expensive but the service plan is cheaper. Can't these idiots set it and leave it alone. An attractive deal - AFTER I've taken the previous offer. An attractive deal - Poof it disappears BEFORE I get around to it. Can't these sleazy SOBs set a price and leave it alone? Is this the BS they teach in B schools?

And the entry model saw an increase of hard drive space from 320GB to 500GB. Which is the only model that saw a price increase.

I think you can not do math:

    Before: $99 for 320GB unit + $240 for 1 year service = $339
    Now: $149 for 500GB unit + $180 for 1 year service = $329

So you are bit**ing about getting a bigger hard drive unit for less money

And by the way the 320GB unit is still available for $99 or less and service has been reduced to $15/mo

Some folks can't deal with change. That it would be a savings to them is irrelevant, as they're not going to buy anyway.

I guess all other companies set their prices and never change them.

Some folks just like to complain. Just about every one of the threads started by the OP is some sort of complaint marked with a

Some people get mad that they pulled the trigger sooner than later. They do want future prices or deals to EVER be better than they paid. The problem is, it all gets cheaper in the long run. My word! We're going to hear from the original S3 owners who paid nearly $800 for their boxes complain because now TiVo offers the latest boxes for $99 or a little more in the new pricing scheme. PLEASE!

    Dang. 15 cents?

    Shave-and-a-hair-cut-2-bits (25 cents - a "bit" was a piece of eight. Hence 2 bits = 25 cents).

The OP is like one of many that visit here with the sole intention of hammering Tivo. Prices change...your timing was off. So what! Man up and deal with it. On a related note, many posters here, I've noticed, clearly favor Directv. Yet they are here. If I disliked, or found Directv units to be better than Tivo, I certainly wouldn't be here. This may be the only forum I know of, designed around a product that seem to have more supporters of a different product. :D

I paid more for my TiVoHD than a Premiere costs now, so what. I would have had to be an idiot to not know that prices could drop but I am glad the product has gotten better and costs less, nice combination. The 500GB TiVo Premiere is a great deal to my way of thinking.
