We have a series 1 that has been modified with a new hard drive to hold 260 hours and we also have a series 2 that has 40 or 60 I think. Both have lifetime service.

We are doing to give my daughter one of these units but can't decide which one to keep and which to give her. If it was you which one would you keep?

    Thanks guys

Little hard to answer without knwing a lot more details.

    1. How old is she? If under 12 she can probably make do with the 40-60 hours.
    2. Does she live with you? If so, she can also get by with the 40-60 hours if she also watches on the other TV.
    3. Is she soon to be married? If so, get the Tivo listed in the prenuptual agreement.

In my own case (married daughter) I would give her the S1, and upgrade the S2 HDD for myself.

I would give her the Series 1, and keep the Series 2 for yourself. Then upgrade the Series 2. :D

Sounds like she has her hands full. Buy her a new S3 and HDTV and keep both of yours.

The Series 2 has something called Kidzone might be useful for her also the Series 2 is easier to connect to broadband if she has it.

    Good Luck,
