I am in the process of reviewing the Tivo Roamio Plus.

    Very curious....

What does the green lit circle indicate?

Is that just a general POWER ON indicator, or, an indicator of newly recorded content?

I have had the Tivo Premiere and older models and I could have sworn there were different colored lights to indicate power and newly recorded content.

    Appreciate the help.

Green is a general power indicator.
Amber is the remote control feedback.
Blue indicates an internet download or transfer from another box.
Red lights indicate something is being recorded presently.

I have had every generation of TiVo (except the S3 with display, mine was just an HD). None have ever had a "newly recorded content" indicator of any type.

Few things would be less useful- since mine is recording new suggested content all the time :)
