I am using the "new" Tivo program that lets you watch major league baseball games on your Tivo if you have a paid subscription to mlbtv.com. Very cool. But the last couple games the picture quality on my TV (thru Tivo) has been very bad - as bad or worse than old analog. I just spent an hour with the mlbtv.com techies running through a bunch of options including rebooting Tivo, wireless router and bandwidth (all good). The mlbtv techie then told me to check for Tivo updates. I then said those updates usually come automatically, but I would check. I plan to check a game or two during the week to see if weekend games might be a problem. I will also talk to my cable company.
I am watching the Seattle at Baltimore game and the picture is horrible. Has anyone else run into this problem? Could it simply be a problem with the connection between my cable company and the company broadcasting this game?

    Any thoughts approeciated.

I have been watching MLB.TV on TiVo and feel TiVo did this one right.

I've been watching MLB.TV for many years. The early years on the PC, then into HD on the PC, the advent of Nextdef, on to the Roku and finally the TiVo.

As long as your network is robust enough, I'm pretty sure any problems you're having with picture quality is due to the MLB.TV feed. I've been watching the Red Sox feeds and have been very satisfied. I know sometimes the MLB.TV feed can get pretty crappy, but from my experience the TiVo has been handling it very well. Try another game and see if you're still having the problem.

The one thing I wish TiVo would change is on the jump to innings screen. If the bottom of the ninth inning is not played, TiVo does not fill in the bottom of the ninth inning with a link. So going into the screen after the game is played, if the bottom of the ninth inning does not have a link, you know the home team won. MLB.TV solved this problem by adding a link in the bottom of the ninth inning slot that jumps to the top of the ninth inning. This would be a welcome change.
