Expecting XL4 tomorrow, going to use CableCard currently installed on TiVo HD. Evidently, need to re-pair this card because I subscribe to all premier channels. Read a lot about successful automated pairing over telephone but could never find this magic number to call.
Found 888-897-7499 but this is for Verizon set-top only because it requests activation number that comes with letter from Verizon.
Sure, I can call Verizon but hope the automated service will save time and nerves.
If anyone knows this number please share ASAP :)))

Tune to channel 131 tomorrow and follow the instructions. Also, that number you posted will ask for an activation number, but also asks if you're calling to activate cablecards if you don't have an activation number. It'll then step you through the process. But you need the data displayed on channel 131 for the host id, etc.

    That simple?
You mean I'll be able to pair directly from XL4?
Oh, I see, haven't read you post in full.

That is the automated number I used a while back and it was painless. It was quite good, actually. An example that should be followed by other providers.

At some point within the selection of options, there should be an option to re-pair an existing card.

You tune to channel 131 for the data you need and the phone number to call. Call that number and step through the menus, and enter the data that's presented on channel 131 when the phone menu system asks for it. You'll need two sets of numbers that get displayed on channel 131 when your cablecard isn't paired to put into the system to have it paired.

You can do it on the web. I got instructions with the card.

He's re-pairing an existing card. Has no activation code for the web setup. :)

Well... he could always take the card to the Fios store and trade it for a new one.

I mean, that might actually be worthwhile...
