I looked on the list on the tivo website. All of them seem to be the expensive ones on the market. Anyone have any suggestions? If it matters, my code starts with 540.

You don't want to hear it but the $50 Tivo wireless G is my suggestion. Yea it's $50 but it works just fine on a 540.

Not o mention that it is 100% compatible with no problems whatsoever on any machine, supports WPA, and supports faster transfer speeds than a typical G adapter due to the way it transfers shows.

Agreed. I tried the "cheap route" and only ended up with problems – took it back. The official TiVo Wireless G USB Network adapter is a good value for all of the reasons stated...plus peace of mind.

Hey...here's a deal...right now you can buy an 80 hour DT S2 from Best Buy for $49.99 after a couple of rebates and you get a TiVo USB adapter free! Might be cheaper to just buy a new one! (Depending on whatever sub you have of course.) ;)

    +1 for the TiVo adapter.

You will spend a lot of time finding current adapters on shelves, or searching for NOS someplace, or sending things back. It is probably worth it yo outright buy the TiVo adapter in the first place.
