Ha, I guess that explains my confusion. I went straight from watching the previous season to this final season. This guy that is on the final season, I could not figure out who he was. I just assumed he was a new vampire. I didn't realize he was playing an existing character. The confusing part was he was Jess's boyfriend and I could remember the guy from last season. Figured time had gone by and yada, yada, yada.

I wonder if a healed vampire can catch hep V again? Like can the sister drink blood from a hep V human and not get sick? They said it was an antidote, but is it also a vaccine?

I recognized the new James from GH and couldn't figure out why I didn't remember him from last year. Thanks.

Why are they making the fairy girl so stupid? Fairies in general don't seem to be stupid. Is it just because she's actually like 2 years old?

Why on earth, since vampires were given rights like anyone else, can't Bill make a new will and leave his stuff to whoever he wants to?

According to the lawyer, the Vampire Rights Amendment never got passed, so vampires were not given rights like anyone else.

So vampires are allowed to own property, but not dispose of it? Couldn't he just make an inter unvivos (inter mortis? Intra mortis?) transfer before his "true death," especially if he's thinking it is imminent? Why does it have to be a testamentary devise? And who cares if progeny are recognized? Can't you devise your estate to anyone you like? Even in Louisiana, with its oddball Parrish law system, I can't imagine there would be any requirement that your beneficiaries have to be related to you in a legally recognized way. The suggestion that the only way to leave a bequest to a non-relative is to adopt them just seems ludicrous - was I misunderstanding? And how does a vampire with no rights go about formalizing an adoption, anyhow?

Nothing in this season makes sense. I'm only still watching because it is the last season and it is like a car wreck -- horrifying but I cannot look away.

I suppose this is putting lipstick on a pig, but if the will isn't legal & binding, then the estate would pass to the next heir automatically, right? Making adoption a way of creating a next heir...

So she was saying "Your Will isn't valid, and you can't create a new one, so allow your estate to pass by intestacy after you establish your progeny as your heirs at law by adopting them"?

If he couldn't create a new will as a vampire, what were all the other hep-v vamps in the waiting room there to do? Codicils? Was the issue that Vamp codicils to wills are okay, but only if the will was validly created while the vampire was alive?

It could just be that the lawyer was a ***** trying to get $10 million out of Bill. He might have been able to go to another lawyer and got what he needed done in 10 minutes.

Yeah, that got a big :roll eyes: from me, especially when so many henchmen climbed out like they were clown cars. Ditto with the Texan accented, broke, Japanese, CEO Cowboy.
The whole fairy child(ren) thing has been lame since the beginning, but she was terrified Jessica was going to eat her yet chooses to get her step incest on outdoors and trot off with another vampire she barely knows. :::sigh:::
I just want to know why Bill has to go to a Lawyer-in-a-box shop? I would also have thought that he would have had his estate set up as a trust or something long ago.

How many episodes until this season is done?

    Long...
At least I'd expect some competition in the lawyers-with-after-dark-office-hours market, though there did seem to also be a need for some specialized knowledge of vampire-specific legal issues, too.

True, it's not like Bill lived a safe, secure life before this. Everyone on this show should have their wills up to date all the time. ;)
