    Anyone watching?

We're almost done watching the first episode and we're not happy. First of all they have all this web-based contest stuff with the Sous Chefs. I'm not going to watch anything on my PC, me and my wife crowded in front of my desk. But more to the point of why I'm ready to bail already... it took nearly half the show before they did any actual cooking! I'm watching the show because I like to see top notch chefs try to out-cook each other, not to watch people jump out of planes and drive cross-country in their Lexus loaners.

We may give this season one more episode... but the SP is hanging by a thread.

I'm watching....the tv show, not the lame webisodes.

I'm ok with just hearing the results of the Sous Chef challanges.

Agreed about the webisodes. Thankfully it doesn't impede too much into the TV show.

The first episode had a lot more 'other stuff' than cooking, but there's more cooking in the rest.

I hope Douglas' sous chef is ok.

The sous chefs thing is pretty lame, IMO. I don't watch it but see the result on the show each week. Always has to be some strange hook these days, to any competition. I guess the majority likes the drama. Personally, I'll go for a straight-forward contest every time. This isn't as bad as I thought it would be, though.

Since it is an 'all episodes' (for this season) thread (spoiler from this week's episode below) -

Man, Crawford was one of my favorites. I like her so much and she is so good :( I'm so totally bummed. I wished they had eliminated blonde girl. She seemed like a real b!tch anyway and her dishes were crap to boot. Two crap dishes = better than one crap dish I guess.

This year I am only familiar with a handful of them. That makes it less fun, especially if more of the ones I 'know' get eliminated.

Watching. But not digging it at all. The web only sous chef challenge that impacts the main show is very awkward. I don't watch it at all. Also, I only recognized the names of 2 or 3 chefs. And one was a guy that was on regular Top Chef a few seasons back.

Does Neal remind anyone else of David Spade?

Ha! Yeah, in an 'almost creepier than Spade (if that is possible)' kinda way. :D

Don't get me wrong, I like Spade but he's usually some kind of slimeball. Speaking of which I ALREADY miss 'Rules of Engagement' and have been watching reruns daily on TBS. :( I'm a girl but I can't quit you, Timmy!

Now that's over I hope to never hear about sous chefs again in Top Chef. Evah!

    Poor Bryan. Second place. Again.

I liked Doug and was glad he won. That's a lot of money for a dog rescue though. I'd be happier if the money went to humans (like the Semper Fi Fund, which you can donate to ;) in my sig link). Just sayin'... :)

This is my first time watching Masters, but I enjoyed the Sous Chef element.

Well, I assumed that Douglas Keane would win when it first started. I don't think any other chef was at his level, though I had not heard of all of them. I would be surprised if any of them had 2 michelin stars for several years in a row. That was really impressive. Hope Cyrus opens back up soon...

I thought Voltaggio should have won.
