Amazon has the Slide remote listed for $49.95 with free shipping this morning. Get one before they are gone if you wanted one.

I have the slide remote and I hate it. Never use it. It has a very slow response time.

That was fast! I guess that particular $49 seller only had a few.

I did get one before they were gone though. :)

Does anybody know if the slide remote has the 1/2 buttons for the alternate code set?

I luv my slide remote much more responsive than IR. The slide keyboard is awesome for doing searches.

Have you tried using the little bluetooth cable extender? My slide remote is SOOO much faster than the IR remote. It's like night and day.

My first slide was flakey and slow; even with the cable extended. It acted like it had to reset the connection or something because there would be a big lag then multiple button presses would come through in a rush. (From what I've read here there were a number of people with problematic slides)

But I got a replacement and it's great; works noticable faster than the IR peanut and I don't have to worry about where it's pointing. Love it.

??? Something is broken then, because the response time of the Slide is MUCH faster than an IR remote.

I love the Slide... although mine did go defective after a year and a half and I had to replace it (was going unreliable).

On my Premiere XL the slide remote goes lightning fast. On the Premiere XL 4 laggy and buggy. Maybe it's a coincidence but that's my experience.

I stopped using my slide when the iPhone app got reliable. Gives me the keyboard when I need it.

Slide is just too sensitive and the Bluetooth dongle needed to occasionally be unplugged/ plugged in (though that was rumored to be fixed in later TiVo patch)

Their concept though should be applauded. Similar remotes like my Vizio TV one have just sucked

Good idea! I didn't even realize the iPhone app would give you a keyboard... guess that one should have been pretty obvious!! I hate using phones as regular remotes, but for the occasional keyboard use, it's actually a good option, as I'm already really, really good at iPhone typing. Heck, I could do the same thing with the MCE PC with the Logitech TouchMouse.
