    Hi,

I'm eagerly waiting for Tivo mini to come out so I can buy a couple of them along with a Premiere XL4 and equip my whole house.

To play devil's advocate though, if the Tivo mini doesn't materialize: what is the next-best thing? Is there somewhere the Anti-Tivo out there that can provide multi-room TV viewing and recording with CableCards? I'm not looking for Cable-provider-specific solutions.

    Thanks,
    Alex

Your only other real Non-TiVo option would be to use Windows Media Center on a Windows 7 PC. with the following:

Either a SiliconDust HD HomeRun Prime 3-Tuner Networked Tuner
    www.amazon.com/SiliconDust-HDHR3-CC-HDHomeRun-CableCARD-tuners/dp/B004HKIB6E/

Or the Internal Ceton InfiniTV 4 PCIe CableCARD Tuner (or the USB version)
    www.amazon.com/Ceton-InfiniTV-PCIe-4-channel-CableCARD/dp/B003B4VLJQ/

And Ceton will be releasing a Media Center Extender called the "Ceton Echo" sometime before the end of the year, Possibly November and will retail for $179

It will be interesting to see who releases an Extender first Ceton or TiVo.

Ceton is also expected to release a 6 Tuner standalone DVR sometime in the near future? I expect it will retail for $599-$699
