    Both of our TiVos are connected via ethernet. We used Ooma phone service. For 2 days now, we have been getting mysterious phones call everyday in the am. (4:25 to 4:30am). I contacted Ooma and they asked if I have a TiVo, which I do. The Ooma support says TiVo maybe the cause of the mysterious phone calls.

    Anyone else experience something similar?

    I can understand if I was using the phone jack to dial for tivo programming that there might be a chance of this type of problem, but I cannot imagine how connecting via ethernet would cause this. TiVo does not have my Ooma home phone number.

    Any ideas or hypothesis?

    (I will be disconnecting my tivo's ethernet for a few days. to see what happens)

    We use Tivo and Ooma. I've never received a mysterious call from our Tivo's. We have our Ooma setup like this:

    cable -> cable modem -> Ooma -> Router -> Switch -> Tivo's

    BTW... I'm as big a Ooma fan as I am a Tivo fan!

    I assume the CSR was thinking of a TiVo connected to a phone line, but that still doesn't make sense -- the TiVo would be making outgoing calls. Also, the TiVo staggers its calls, so they wouldn't be consistently 4:25-4:30am. So, I doubt there's any connection.

    So I unplugged the tivo's ethernet and I still go the mysterious calls.

    The Ooma CSR's guess that TiVo was the cause. This proves it was not the case.

    Now back to the other leads of the problem. It is not a tivo problem.

    (BTW, the folks of this tivocommunity is by far the quickest to respond on threads of any kind. Thanks for all your help.)

    Blacklist the calls. Block the calls if you have the premium service.

    The mysterious calls came from new different numbers each time.
