    Hello,

I recently bought a new desktop computer running Windows 7. I repurchased from TiVo, TiVo Desktop 2.8.3 and installed it on the new desktop computer. Now, several times a day, the error message, shown in that attached word document, appears and the TiVo Server stops working and I am unable to download shows from my TiVo boxes.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled TiVo Desktop 2.8.3 several times and it does not solve the issue.

I did not have this issue with my older Windows 7 desktop PC running an earlier version of TiVo Desktop.

Please help me to figure out how to resolve this.

    Thanks,

This was the major reason I switched to PyTivo.

Tivo Server never finished loading and kept my processor on full duty for a long time every time I start my computer.

PyTivo never took up any valuable processor time, and I never had any problems since.

It's solid as a rock for me on Windows 7. The faulting module listed in the crash dump is the Borland C++ run-time, so I'd look for another copy of CC3260MT.DLL on the computer with a different version.

Every program that needs a common module like that should sandbox it within its own directory structure and use a .manifest file so that it won't affect other programs, but lots of software installation packages get that part wrong. Once you find the program that's using a different version it will probably come down to which program you want to keep.

    Thanks for your comments.

However, I would like to get TiVo Desktop to work properly.

    The CC3260MT.DLL that is in my C:\Program File (x86)\TiVo\Desktop Windows 7 directory has a 1/30/2003 7:04am date/time stamp and a size of 1,465 KB.

Is that the same date and size CC3260MT.DDL that everyone else is using with TiVo Desktop?

That's the same as mine. It should be version 6.0.1.0.
