Ok I have an 80 HR single tuner tivo on a lifetime subscription. I'm thinking of getting a second 80 Hr dual tuner. Best buy has them for $250 with a $50 MIR and a $150 Tivo MIR.

I have already read from tivo the policy on the MSD and since I wouldnt be buying the unit from tivo.com it should be eligible for the MSD.

What I am wondering, is will going for the MSD disqualify me from the $150 MIR from tivo?

Ya. I just called TiVo CS and they said that I would be fine going ahead with it.

Well, since I have a Best Buy 10% off coupon I'll get the tivo for around $25 plus tax when its all said and done. Not a bad deal...

If you are buying it outright, you can get MSD on it, even with a rebate.
If you order a bundle unit, I don't think there is MSD on that.
