He's creating a newsroom the way that I want it to be. I'm saying me as average guy who is sick of the infotainment that gets passed around as news.

Kind of spoilerish. Since we know that such new Presidential debate does not exists, we can guess that the Newsroom got tired of compromising their integrity, and goes back to their old self, losing the debate format.

We also know that is going to happen because Sorkin already did it in The American President. Just replace "debate" with "crime bill". :)

Or, if they ffwd through time faster than they have been, they could still get the debate, ahead of debates here in the real world. Maybe a well done example could get some people scratching their heads about how it could ( or should ) be done.

Of course if it was really a good format, no candidate would agree to do it.

Keep in mind that I think they're talking about getting one of the GOP Presidential Primary debates, not the upcoming Obama/Romney debates.

Heh. I got into hot water many years ago when I replied to "Isn't a TiVo just a fancy VCR?" with "You Troll!" I've been accused of calling her an ugly beast that lives under a bridge ever since.

Sorkin hung out at MSNBC with Larry O'Donnell for a few days. That was his research.

The cute blonde actress also used to have the job of the character she plays at MSNBC, and in fact was originally hired as a consultant.

First off, she is kind of hot. Secondly, I do not think I have seen her on show. Thank you, though.

The character's name is Tess. She looks much better there than she does on the show. They frump her up a bit for the show.

Dan Rather has been effusive with his praise for the show and claims that Sorkin got it right. Maybe he's just an idealist.

"I've lived in the world of television newsrooms for most of my adult life. I know the people, the venues and the challenges — the satisfactions of success and the heartbreak when things go awry. From where I sit and based on my experience, Sorkin and crew have got it amazingly right, even when they over talk it."

I don't have any first-hand knowledge about any newsroom. I'm just relating what several reporter friends have told me. Maybe my friends just didn't/don't work for big enough networks.

Who played the chick Sandy that came forward with the texts from Anthony Weiner? She looked really familiar, but her name wasn't in the end credits.

HBO spells it "Sandee"(Though other sites refer to Sandy). It's Alison Becker.

She seems to have been on Parks and Rec a few times though I don't recognize her.

Is she the one who plays Aziz Ansari's Canadian wife? I think she is. Wendy or something.

No, I think she was a reporter of some sort. I think maybe that guy who left after the first season banged her.
