Yes, she has been called Mickey in the show.
She was definitely referred to as "Mickey" at one point in the second episode. Because of this thread, I was specifically listening for it.
My mother, whose name was Michelle, was referred to as Mickey or Mick by family and friends. I didn't think it was that uncommon.
In case you haven't heard (or noticed on your TiVo) yet, the episode scheduled for Tuesday has been replaced with a different one; the originally scheduled one has been moved to next Sunday at 9 Eastern, following the first ever one-hour episode of The Simpsons (which, in turn, is following an NFL playoff game - and since the second game on a playoff day is usually delayed until after the first game (on a different network) ends, pad accordingly - and, for that matter, make sure the 1/15 episode isn't considered a repeat of the 1/10 episode).
The Entertainment Weekly review noted that her name is Mackenzie, nicknamed "Mickey." I couldn't stand the show myself. Not my cup of tea. I am glad that others are enjoying it. BTW, EW gave it a "D."
To each their own!
Yeah. I don't like the show but they aren't going non-PC with the name. It is her nickname going after her name Mackenzie. That was pretty clear even though I bailed on the show. Heck, for the part I watched, they didn't call her sister by her real name. Only the nickname given to her in some way I don't remember.
I think it was "Poodle", but I forget why.
I think that's what her hubby called her.
We first heard Poodle when the neighbor called her that. And then I think in the second episode, she calls herself that when she left the voice mail.
I thought it would be like a female Uncle Buck. No dice. It sucked and I'm disapointed and out
Grandma was fun...
I thought this last episode with the birth control was the funniest one yet.
Alba is so generous and kind, offering to take on the burden of being the one to 'close the deal'.
This. I thought the younger son taking the BC pills was a little over the top (and how did he not get sick from all those pills) but the storyline with the daughter was great.
Yeah, the moody little boy was pretty funny. I thought this episode was great as well.
Yea, liked this episode. Funniest for me was the middle kid, playing to his strengths, offered that girl $500 to kiss him. Didn't see that one coming. And when the girl got mad, the kid offers more money.
Looks like the answer is yes. He was in the third episode quite a bit. Giving excellent advice to the middle kid.
My wife and I finally gave up part way through the third episode. Onepass deleted.
Seeing better reviews here since the premier made me watch this episode and it was pretty good.
The latest smoking episode was absolutely unfunny though.
I suppose this might be more for the SP Alerts forum, but I'll mention it here...
Late last night, I went to watch last nights recorded episode of the show, and my TiVo had two recorded episodes for me. It recorded last night's, and it also claimed to have recorded one on Sunday Night (1/15), at 8pm. When I played Sunday nights episode, it was actually just an episode of The Simpsons.
I googled at bit and discovered that there really was an episode of The Mick that aired on Sunday, but it was aired at 9pm, not 8pm.
Also, my Tivo says last night's episode was E06, and Sunday night's episode was S05. Actually, last night's was E05 and Sunday's was E04. *sigh*.
I managed to get Sunday nights S04 via magical means.
