    Wasn't the conversation basically

NBA: We want a minor league. Here's a ridiculous amount of money, be our official minor league.
Thomas: No. I want more money.
    NBA. Uh, okay. (*forms D-League*)
    (*losing horns*)

That's pretty much the way I remember it. Isiah bought the CBA thinking he could sell it to the NBA, which wasn't a bad idea, then he tried to play hardball and the NBA just moved on and formed the D league. So the CBA went bankrupt. As I recall, Isiah was not exactly popular with the people in the CBA cities who had lost their teams/incomes/jobs.

Just got done watching. Very well done.

I forgot how competitive Magic was. Being a Bulls fan I was aware of that trait in Jordan. It was awesome watching those two go at each other.

And I loved MJ and Pippen laying the hammer on Kukoc. And his comment that he just thought that's the way they played in the NBA was great.

I was a little shocked at the Isiah stuff. I knew Jordan didn't like the guy, but I always thought it had to do with his first All-Star game. I didn't realize that people thought he was the mastermind behind the Piston thuggery.

Sounds interesting. Set to record. The next showing I found is July 4.

I was a big fan back in The Dream Team era, not so much now. I didn't even know I got the NBA channel.

Set to record in the middle of the night a few days ago: tried to watch it last night and lo and behold, instead I got 90 minutes of NBA championship replay. Boooooring.

Only one showing left on my TiVo. Hopefully this one will be real.

Just finished watching this, what a great behind the scenes documentary.

I got chills watch Larry shoot those threes again.

Yay! Got this one. Loved it. I really had no idea about Isaiah Thomas. I knew about the Pistons and the "bad boy" rep (and, as a Celtics fan, I often saw it first hand). I didn't realize people thought Thomas was such a prime instigator.

Loved seeing Charles "meeting the people" and Stockton just meeting the people.

And yes, it was so great to see Bird out there again.

Loved the documentary aspect of the show. It was very well done. My only gripe is that I wish there were more footage of the games themselves.

For those interested in a more in-depth reliving of the Dream Team, veteran sportswriter Jack McCallum (you may remember him from Sports Illustrated, among other publications) has a new book out on the team today. It's titled (duh) The Dream Team.

I'm about 20% through it. Thus far it has been an entertaining and informative (and quick) read. I feel pretty comfortable recommending it based on what I've read so far, if this is a topic you're interested in.
