Boo to firing Penn. I thought he'd be in the final 2.
Given the outcry of a certain percentage of the general public against people who work hard and get ahead, my thought on why they didn't like the "You Earned It" slogan had something to do with the generally poor public attitude about people who do.
And to certain of those people, the concept of earning what they get is kind of foreign to them anyway.
He could have been if he wanted to be but I think he found the whole experience beneath him, especially once he realized what a game it was.
At that point he was providing no drama or conflict at all so Trump wanted rid of him and I don't think he was at all sorry to leave.
I don't think I'd want the word "instinct" attached to a perfume or cologne. Just having people mentally hear "stink" in their head when they say it can't be helpful to the perception of the product.
Cracked me up that they attributed "trust your instincts" to Donald Trump, as if it was some quotable gem that only Donald could have come up with. Amazingly, they found him quoted on the internet, the VERY SAME THING! WOW!!! Give me a break.
He definitely made the name big, and it helps her do well. There is no doubt about that.
But what I find interesting is how he rails on this country giving so much business to China, and how unacceptable that is and how it needs to changeyet he, his wife, and his daughter all have businesses that make their products entirely in China.
Clearly Penn was always the smartest guy in the Room. I was glad he got to bring decent money to his charity.
Aubrey is pretty devious, she calls Eric to have him pose for pictures, send the other 2 away on a "task" and then blasts them to Eric while doing the photoshoot. She also totally kisses Erics ass in the boardroom. Unfortunetly for her I'm pretty sure they all see right through her.
I wonder how much (if any) of what goes on behind the scenes is available for Trump to witness prior to the boardroom.
This is a Clay/Aubrey finale. I don't see Teresa or Arsenio going much further.
Dayanna might hold the record for most Boardroom "brought backs", but she was singled out for no other reason than they're jealous of her.
What did Lisa do in this task?
Yea I really haven't agreed with a lot of the firings this season. I think like many reality TV shows they keep around the jerks to make better reality TV. A show where everyone gets along gets no ratings.
She was just another pretty face. Wait, never mind.
I was so bummed when Clay didn't bring her to the boardroom. I was hoping he'd give Dayana a break for a change. And of course I was also hoping Lisa would get fired.
Actually, Trump said he didnt think the slogan was so bad, but his hands were tied by the executive's decision.
or at least that's the way it appeared in the show -- never really know the actual sequence due to editing and creative license.
Isn't it his fragrance though? If he liked the slogan that should have overridden the executives' decision.
Rumor has it that Clay's display is the one being used in Macy's right now.
IMO it was a hinky win for a number of reasons- Trump gave everyone money, the teams were equalized, non drama making Penn was gotten rid of, and Dayana now has the distinction of being brought back more times than anyone.
I know that many wins seem designed for TV but this one more than most.
Everyone I liked on that show is voted off (Penn, Adam, Dee), for me this will be one of those shows that will end up sitting on my DVR until I run out of space and it gets erased. I hope the next episode of Penn and Teller BS! covers scripted reality shows.
The winning team's display was awful. That silhouette of Eric looked like the St Jude's Children Hospital logo, not Donald.
I bet it will come down to Aubrey and Lisa.
That was definitely the most compelling part of the episode for me.
This was definitely a tough task to judge. I think Clay's display was FAR superior to Aubrey's, but Aubrey was superior in all the other things (slogan, presentation, takeaways, etc.). If it's true that Macy's is using Clay's display, I'll bet it's been altered to have a smaller picture, bring the bottle/windows more into play, and I'll bet they're using Aubrey's takeaways and smell tabs.
I have to admit to myself that I watch this show for the manufactured drama between B and C list celebrities rather than the "game" If I can do that I'll be ok.
Last season with John Rich seemed much less "scripted" I guess.
