Just purchased new Netgear N750 router and having issue with Streambaby address already in use error. I do have port 7290 open on both router and windows firewall.

Here is the log file. How can I figure if another application is using the same port? Or what else should I check?

    Please help. Thanks.

    Mission...
Open a cmd window and execute:
    netstat -aon | more

On right side the PIDs are listed so you can find out in Task Manager what the process is.

Here is what I see when executing the command. However, if the port numbers are on the right I don't see any of them using 7290.

    Please help. Thanks.

You need to press the space bar when you see the "--More --" prompt.

Yes, the "more" part is so you can page through the full list. Maybe easier to do following:
    netstat -aon > netstat.txt

Then the netstat.txt file will contain the results.

I tried the "netstat -aon | more" and kept hitting spacebar until the end. I still only see the 7290 listed once.

I hit the space until it stopped. Also tried netstat -aon > netstat.txt but that did not provide any information.

Please let me know if you can help. Thanks.

Apparently I needed to update Java which I did and now I am getting another error within Streambaby.

'"C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Java\\jre6\\bin\\java.exe"' is not recognized as an i
    nternal or external command,
    operable program or batch file.
    Exited.
Press any key to continue . . .

I am noticing in my Java folder that I have both JRE6 and JRE7 in there.

Could that be my issue? How can I resolve this?

    Mission...
Right, but if you're not running streambaby yet, then there should be 0 entries, so obviously there is something running taking that port which would explain the problem you were having. If you were previously running streambaby as a service that would explain it.

The output from that command goes into netstat.txt file, so you have to open the file to read the output when doing it that way.

If you change Java installation and you are setting the full path to java in streambaby.bat then you will need to edit streambaby.bat file and correct the path to where the new java.exe file is (sounds like under jre7 now).

I was previously running Streambaby (working fine) as service. It stopped working once my EA6500 router died and was replaced with Netgear N750. I would still like to run Streambaby as a service.

I did edit the Streambaby.bat file and set full path to Java7. However, I am still getting the issue "error: Address already in use: JVM_Bind".

How can I resolve this? Please help. Thanks.

You cannot start the service while another instance is running. You must kill the instance of streambaby that is currently shown as listening on port 7290.

    Have you tried rebooting?

So I turned off the Streambaby service by changing the setting from automatic to manual.

While I can see the Streambaby on the Tivo, it stalls at "please wait".

Here is the log. I am hoping you can help me out here. Thanks.

Sorry. I am not really a stream baby expert. Just in general, I'd say make sure your video directory listing in streambaby.ini is correct and has content in it. Maybe @moyekj has some ideas.

I was just able to get Streambaby working but now my Pytivo will not work. :-(

I don't understand how a new router would cause it to no longer work. Any thoughts I what I can do?

I doubt the router is the issue. I suspect some precesses started BEFORE you changed routers and are now zombied. If you are running pyTivo as a service, try killing and restarting. Or really, reboot. Your machine sounds like it has become confused about your environment.

I solved the issue by opening the ports for both Pytivo and Streambaby on both the router and within my firewall software. (McAfee)

    Thank you for your help.

Ah, well... you didn't mention you were trying to access your services from outside your local-network. In that case, yes, the router settings would be an issue.
